Warhammer 6: The Second Broman Crusade Begins

With our campaign rules laid out, it's time to send our armies out on the march. The Dread Lord Blanc sends his own Thralls out to summon great armies of the unliving to defend the dead lands. Today we set up the first of at least three battles in the Broman Crusade.

Supply lines breaking down for an undead force could mean that all active reinforcement areas add 1d6 days to when they can be used again. Holy Holiday or something like that.

After the costly, narrow victory of the Bromans over the Orc Hordes (It was a close call!), the Emperor was somewhat reluctant to commit to another conflict so soon after. The repairs, recovery, resettlement, and reconstruction of that war had put a considerable strain on the Empire. But "His Nibs" had some compelling reasons to declare another war. An audit by the Imperial Treasury revealed that the Province Of Transquarkia had not sent their taxes to Brome for quite some time. Teams of the famed, Broman Long Ranger Scouts were sent to Transquarkia. They revealed that the entire province had fallen under the Curse Of The Undead. This could not stand... and it provided a timely solution to a number of other looming Imperial Concerns. A rowdy, restless, militant Nobility, with a long tradition of service. They wanted opportunities for their younger sons and relatives. Among those opportunities were a chance to gain some battle experience, new lands to govern, and gain more influence at Court. It was far, far better for them to be sent on Crusade, in furtherance of Imperial interests, than have them raise the banners of rebellion at home. (The Emperor admired the ability of that Hopper fellow... who had only one leg... to keep a foot in either camp... and often wondered how he managed to do so, with little apparent effort!) Several of the Knightly Military Orders... the Knights Of The Lamb (Called "Lamber's Hammer Slammers" in quiet tones by the other Orders), in particular, had concluded that Transquarkia would make an ideal base for their Order to thrive and flourish! Castle Gallagher would be an excellent home for them, and literally their's for the taking. The Grand Master of the Knightly Order Of The Sacred Lance had volunteered a force for the Crusade to keep an eye on the Lambs... and to be first in line for what ever, "Unforeseen" advantages might happen. Last, but not least, the Curse Of Undeath would be removed long before it gained momentum and became a larger problem It was unfortunate that things had gotten this far along, but it was easier to stamp out the smoldering embers now... rather than wait until the entire forest caught fire! Old maps were unrolled. Dusty volumes on Transquarkia were consulted by the War Council. Armies were organized & Officers appointed. Plans were made. Couriers delivered orders... and the Empire gathered it's strength. It was time for Transquarkia to do some rendering unto Caesar!. "His Nibs" felt obligated to have a small, golden, campaign medal on a silvered neck chain, presented to each & every Crusader bearing arms, before leaving Brome. Normally, these honors were done AFTER the campaign but given the circumstances... the Emperor felt justified. Each had been blessed by the Church... and if the Holy Symbol on the back of the disc gave some comfort to the soldier carrying it... the Emperor was okay with that.

Great start, definitely looking forward to that cemetery fight! Might be atmospheric to have a fog machine going as those brave Broman troops tackle the recent risen undead!

This campaign looks to be fantastic, and I cannot wait to see how it plays out. I've purchased a copy of Sylvester's Solo Wargaming Guide and I'm eager to try things out myself. Also, I quite like the names of the characters.

Oh man, I love this stuff! So inspiring. I might have mentioned it once before, but a map-based campaign might be awesome for the travels of the Blackraven! Moons, planets, asteroid mines, space stations, etc. I think you already have all the terrain. We just need to show a little more “direction” or method for the madness for the short spans of action. A system map might help with that. Thoughts?

They are led by thralls, who have limitations of thier own. They get a bit of a speed boost by refusing to rest on Sundays.

The Bromans are mostly Khurasan, the elves and rats Splintered Light, and the rest a mix of Demonworld and Alternative Armies.
