People are so impatient as you said to get to Vegas to "Gamble away their 401ks". But I was passed by someone that was turning off in a mile anyway. It is a shame that I think I will take 17 instead as 93 is a really scenic road, but I guess safety must win out. Keep up the good work Jessie.

Partial blame should go to A-DOT for this. They could've turned this highway into a multi-lane divided highway for decades, but, never did; either due to incompetence at the top of AZ-DOT, corruption for many years, or both. This highway always had heavy traffic for decades, just like I-10 from Chandler to Casa Grande & I-17 from Flag. to Phoenix. Now with plans for an I-11 motorway connecting Vegas to Phx, A-DOT's still not budging with it. In contrast, I've driven I-75 from Chattanooga, TN, to Tampa, FLA, & with the exception of Metro Atlanta, I've always had an easy time on it, because, I-75 is at least 3 lanes in each direction on that entire stretch.

Good video. There are no "dangerous" roads in America, the danger lives with reckless, inconsiderate, drivers who break both common sense and legal driving laws. Like speeding. Like trying to wedge past the semi's as the passing lane narrows. Roads are static. They do not move or trick you and have ample warning signs. Drives ignore the signs and play games like that Corvette. Folks, slow down and obey the signs and driving rules.

I live just off of 93, and head on collisions occur often., shutting down the entire highway. Building Interstate 11 and making it a 4 lane freeway all of the way north past Vegas to the Canadian border has been talked about for years, but they never come up with the money. Politicians spend money on all kinds of other things here, but not this project. The stretch between Wickenburg and Vegas is the worst because of All of those people driving to Vegas to gamble, but by-passing Vegas would be a good idea in my opinion as it would allow a better traffic flow north to Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Vegas is a traffic bottle neck, and there are so many semi- trucks going north carrying goods farther north from Phoenix that the entire highway is a danger to the motoring public. Build it, finish it.

There was snow at the higher elevations, not much traffic, and areas of no cell service. We got to within 75 miles of Las Vegas before a tire failed on the trailer and came.completely off. We were able to get help from an RV repair shop on the Friday night before the Superbowl. The trailer was repaired the next day. Hooray for NG RV and Trailer Repair!

There are already developments in place for this highway to be turned into Interstate 11. Construction has been ongoing for the last 15yrs or so. Nevada has already rerouted its portion formerly passing through Boulder City. It's now routed around the entire city starting just after the Hoover Dam. The section between Kingman, Az and Boulder City has already been widened from a two-lane to four-lane Divided highway. The next stage is to construct offramps and eliminate crossovers and regular intersections. The 93/I-40 interchange in Kingman will be taking place here soon and will mimic the Boulder City bypass. So, yeah. Changes are already on the horizon and the entire route from Arizona to Canada will be called I-11.
@pigdroppings5 ай бұрын
Politicians in Ariz don't want money leaving the state...so, this road gets very little money for improvements. When the Interstate road system was created in the 1950s....only about 20K lived in Vegas and only 50k lived in Phoenix. Now millions live in both Vegas and Phoenix...and no 4 lane divided highway.

@@pigdroppings the 93 conversion to Interstate 11 is state and Federally funded. The interchange through Kingman is already slated to begin construction within the next 12mos. Thank you so much for posting this. I live in the area just west of the Wickenburg town limits and deal with this daily. One of the only 2 lane stretches remaining on Highway 93 is where it passes through hundreds of homes in the 9 Irons, Moreton Airpark and Vista Royale developments. It is incredible frightening to have to completely stop on the highway to turn across the road into one of these areas. The Vista Royale entrance is slightly "better" in that it has an unprotected turn lane right in the middle of the highway. Yes, it's great fun to be parked there (especially at night) as cars and the endless numbers of semis fly past on both sides doing 70+ MPH. ADOT originally had this scheduled to follow the Wickenburg widening project in 2025/2026. In their lates 2025-2029 Tenative 5-Year Plan this has now been pushed back to 2028. But hey, what's a few more lives and terror every time you use this road?? If we keep raising this inexcusable situation maybe they will actually pull their head out and do something about this. Great video my friend. The level of impatience and entitlement on the road is sickening. Many people just CAN'T STAND to have ANYONE in front of them--it seems to make them lose their minds. We know them: They tailgate then pass in dangerous situations and maybe go 2 mph faster once they get in front of you. I see the same thing on Hwy 79 from Florence to the US60. My 33 year-old stepson was killed in a head-on in August when a intoxicated driver ended up in his lane after sunset without her lights on while he was coming home from work. On Sunday my wife, daughter and my dead step-son's 2 orphaned children were driving to his roadside memorial for his birthday 13 miles north of Florence when a vehicle passed us and just missed a head-on by ONE SECOND. 30 seconds later there was no traffic coming at us for like a half mile--but could he/she wait? UNTHINKABLE!!! I wish people would do the math and figure how little time they are saving by driving so fast and reckless. Lastly, consider that on average your vehicle is parked for 95% of the years you own it on average. Sheeesh...enjoy the drive and spend a little more SAFE time in your car.

I'm a cmv driver and I travel this road often, I actually take the back way Valley the way to oregon, the road is desolate above rachel Nevada, but going through Wickenburg sucks to crazy drivers and a ton of roadwork..I've hugged the shoulder more than once due to late passing.

You should have driven that road 40-50 years ago. Narrow 2 lane all the way.
