In this video I talk about the worst gold for gold stacking and gold investing. I did do another video on the worst gold to buy, But I do a much more in depth look on the worst gold for investment in this video. Stacking gold or investing in gold can be hard to do if you don't understand the premiums on physical gold. Investing in gold and silver for beginners is one of my favorite videos to make. I have been investing in gold for several years now especially investing in gold bullion and investing in gold coins. Investing in gold 2021 has been different than years in the past because of the premiums. Not only do I talk about the worst gold to buy, but also the best gold to buy for gold stacking and gold investing. In the video I also talk about a gold mining company and here is their link:

I like 1 gram gold bars for one reason, gifts. I have 12 1 gram bars right now, I plan on giving them to my daughter and her long time boyfriend to have melted and crafted into their wedding rings when the time comes. It takes about 6 per ring. I figure when Im gone and feeding the trees they will have their rings to remember me by.

I like that idea. When I separated I didn't feel right selling my wedding band so a few years ago I refined it. it was 5 gm white gold (gold/palladium) and I recovered the gold (palladium is still set aside) and melted it into 2 1.25gm beads and gave them to one of my daughters who made earrings from them. Much more meaningful to us both.

I would say slow down how often you buy so you have more money for each purchase. It is nice to add to the stack each month, but if you can do 1/4 oz or something, wait and do it every 3-4 months and get the full ounce. Or invest in silver and get tubes at a time (20-25 oz)

In terms of stacking it is better to buy 1 oz coins, because as a stacker one intends to buy a counter weight to one's other investments. The "golden" emergency fund for hyper inflation scenarios should be fractional gold.
@mowtow90
@mowtow90 Жыл бұрын
@@franzgrabner6821 Yes , plus not everybody can afford to buy 1 oz. With inflation and rising costs , fractial is most people can afford to use as savings. I prefer hystorical golden coins as their margins of buy and sell are small (like the Austro-Hungarian ducats). Its an OK investment ,especially when gold is long term investment.
@kirbyvacuummadman1814
@kirbyvacuummadman1814 Жыл бұрын
"If you ever need to have to use good for trading for something like good or supplies , the smaller ones are a bit more desirable." To me that's where silver comes in. Buying fractional gold, you have lost money from the very start due to the much higher premiums. The money lost buying fractional gold would buy a fair amount of silver that has a higher potential for growth and is more liquid if that is a concern of yours.

This came up in my feed today and since I just bought some fractional gold I decided to watch it. This video hasn't aged very well. FWIW, Currently the premiums on a 1/10th Gold Philharmonic and a Silver Philharmonic are roughly the same at approx 13% if you spend a little time to shop around amongst the popular online sites. This makes buying some fractional gold a much better proposition IMO. YMMV

Coins are counterfeited so much these days, it doesn't matter if it's associated with a government. Buy from anyone you want. If you can do math. @@randomgrinn Four 1/4oz gold maples $2,044 three 10g bars random design $606.51 times 3 = $1819.53 for 0.964522 Troy oz. This is SD Bullion. Are you wanting to stack gold... Or are you stacking premium? If you haven't noticed, people keep saying that if you want to sell at a LCS you might recapture $5 of that premium on a coin. Or maybe not. A tamper evident assay card can bring similar premium. Nothing wrong with coins if you just like them but they are horrible for stacking. Extrapolate that out. 32 times your 1/4oz?=$16,352 for 8oz. 25 times 10g is 8.03769oz for $15,162.75. If you mix in some 20g, the premiums are even lower. Premium is a concept, if the lights go out, how much does a concept weigh? How much has premium appreciated over the last 10 years? How much will premium appreciate in the next 10 years and will it appreciate faster than inflation? What if premium drops tomorrow? Your premium will drop with it. Premium isn't pegged to anything. 2 years ago or in that range, premium was $50 on a 1oz gold Buffalo, nothing says it can't go back to that if the monetary system doesn't crash. If the monetary system crashes, I believe you are going to have a hard time selling premium. Now then, system crash = no premium melt weight only, system improves, premiums lower. What does that leave? Things remain fundamentally unchanged? How likely is that?

I found the best way to find the best prices when buying from an online retailer is look up which ones are reputable (Apmex, Money Metals, SD Bullion, ect.), make a cart in each one with everything you wanna buy (I generally try to buy a few different rounds and bars at the same time to diversify my metal portfolio, and see which site is cheapest. Another thing keep in mind when buying precious metals is silver rounds are typically cheaper than silver bars, gold bars are generally cheaper than gold rounds, and government minted coins usually have a high enough premium they aren't worth getting. These are a few things I've come to realize in the 6months I've been stacking.

Anything other than government mint gold coins is hard. Slabbed coins isn’t worth it either. Generic mint condition maples and eagles should be the stack. Not those Pamps or Scottsdale bars or coins. Gold takes a lot of money to buy as it is and most don’t/can’t afford a high premium on 500 mintage or vintage bars from JM.

I can only afford 1/10 gold coins. A 1oz coin is basically my whole month's wage. So fractional it is! It is a pain I am losing more money but I am planning on holding for a long time till retirement so who knows price might change.
@thorlin3826
@thorlin3826 2 жыл бұрын
Save your money and don't buy coins, the premium is too high. When you sell, you can't guarantee that you will get more than melt price. Buy random/secondary market/generic gold bars of 10g or greater. You can find about the same premium as 10 Oz gold bars on generic 20g bars if you look hard enough. Packaged on a tamper evident packaging assay card is worth about $5-7 over a bare bar from a reputable source. If you didn't pay for packaging to begin with, you won't miss not getting the premium if you ever sell. Do you want to stack metal? Or do you want your money tied up in packaging? I'm fairly new to this myself, but I have put a lot of thought into it. If money crashes, those coins will be worth melt weight. Only when we have a crap load of fiat paper around that everyone still agrees is worth something will premium possibly be able to be gotten back out. I almost bought some coins when I saw them the same price as assay packaged bars but then I realized that per ounce, I could buy smaller bars for less premium than coins.

I get you. However, i still save up for at least 1/4oz, or buy old gold, like Francs, which have lower premium. I feel it's at least better vs 1/10, 1/20, 1/25, or grams, but more obtainable.

Not every stacker can afford to purchase 1oz gold bars or coins … Fractional good does have its advantages .. more liquid in smaller weights , allows the smaller investor to get into the stacking…, if good gets so expensive it could be more difficult to liquidate1oz bars /coins. But i do understand the argument against 1gram bars ..

I respectfully disagree about stacking less than 1 ounce gold coins or bars is bad, because not everyone can afford to buy even 1 ounce of gold per year. I agree, that 1 gram bars or coins solution is not very good, but collecting at lesat 1/10 ounce coins will pay off as well - they only need a little more time. Perhaps your audience is mostly from Western countries, but here in Poland those premiums on popular fractional gold bullion coins are not that high as in the US. You alsoe forgot about MAPLEGRAMs to talk about and do compare them with 1 gold ounce coins and bars.

You are blessed with dollar standard. You have 3% premium when buying one ounce gold. In Sweden, the premium differ. Buffalo 16% premium and Eagle you cant buy easily. Cheapest 1 ounce is Kangro at 9% premium. You have to go to the bars at 5% premium for Heraeus 100g or 2% premium on 250g Heraeus to get god prices. What can I say about Americans complaining about high premiums...

This is simply the effects of quantum, whereby something smaller is expected to command a higher premium. The same can be said for Real Estate when a smaller property in terms of sq. ft. would command a higher rate per sq. ft. compared to a larger property.
