I was fortune to take lessons from his vocal coach in Orlando back in the mid 90s. Jani had a club here in town around that time called Sunset Strip. Sad what ultimately happened to him.

Same here & I didn't even know he died until a few years ago! I knew he had a drinking problem but I didn't know it was that bad? Plus his demons from being raped when he was younger starting out in the business was something he could never get over! I don't think that nasty twat Bobby Brown should have put that in her book though because that was in confidence & I'm sure if he were still alive he would be so embarrassed & ashamed.... R.I.P. ⚘Jani🥀

Music today is trash compared to Warrant and many 80s rock and pop music. There was a ton of good music made. Nowadays, you are lucky if a band has one average ‘hit’ and when they do it’s forgotten about in 6 months

So I had the very fortunate opportunity to meet the band after a show they performed at Pechanga Casino in Temecula, California back in the early days when Pechanga was operating out of big tent structures. Anyway, after the show the wife and I are having dinner in the one restaurant they had and we were the only ones in there and low and behold in walks the band Warrant and sits at the table next to us. I couldn't believe it, so I stood up and walked over introduced myself and was looking Jani Lane in his eyes having a conversation with him thanking him for the great show and what a huge fan I was. The band was so nice and thanked us for coming to the show. Rock & Roll will never be the same without these great bands.

Saw Warrant in the 90's . One of best live bands I have seen and I saw most of the major acts of the 70's and 80's. It was in a large bar and they came out way late. We were about to give up on them and leave. Jani drank an entire bottle of tequila onstage during that show. His eyes were bleary and he was surely buzzed but he never missed a note. They closed with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and The Clash's "Train in Vain". Just a phenomenal performance. Changed my entire view of this band.
