warren is from my town, asheville, north carolina. he does so much for this area. he works with habitat for humanity building houses for low income people. every year at christmas he has the warren haynes christmas jam. the concert is phenomenal. it's gotten to where big names ask HIM if they can play. he also has local bands. it almost always starts at 7pm and they'll play 'til 4am. every year it's quite a show. we're all proud of him. I've been to 5 of the concerts, my brothers 7. what's cool is he'll get on stage and people who went to school with him will holler up and he'll get the biggest smile on his face, he's truly a great guy. we all love warren here.

with the influx of so many outsiders, yankees, tunnel road and patton avenue are now horror stories, the damn traffic will have you crazy. He touches the depths of my very soul. Always has. Always will. He and his guitar are one. Seriously, he definitely belongs in the R&R Hall Of Fame if anyone EVER has. I love his music, spirit, and soul. Rock on WARREN. Keep pullin' MULE.

We both love this song, and before she left I sent this to her through text and said: "take this with you, then give it back when you get home". If you ever find yourself asking why God allows both good and bad in this world, perhaps here is your answer. Without the bad there would not be the blues nor music like this. There would not be those moments when your soul is touched by the voice of God speaking to you, such as He does when this song is played. Without the bad, there would be no opportunity for mankind to rise above it -- to reach out and just for a moment, touch the face of eternity.

When I was in University in the early 2000's, I listened to a live version of this song on repeat for YEARS. I would walk the streets of Ottawa, young and drunk and high and just drink this song over and over again. This was a time for me just before my father died, a man who taught me what it was like to lose the very first person who meant something to me. So this song reminds me of a time when he was alive and I had nothing to worry about. This version is the closest I have found to that version since I have gone through several computers since then. I know it must exist somewhere, on an MP3 CD or something. But holy shit, I can't even get through it without crying.

I really love when a great guitar player is not afraid to write a song with a simple chord progression, it show the world that you don't have to be really flashy to play a great song. a lot of guitar players believe that they have to speed all over the fret board, in order to play a great song, and that is NOT TRUE. the greatest songs that we all know and love use a simple format, this is something that Neil young know and understands, but he will take first postion chords and dress them up with a lot of hammer on and pull offs, and take something simple and make it sound really cool, he is a genious at doing this.
