Right? I legit don't think I could work without them at this point ... nor would I want to.

@@WarrenMarshallBiz Absolutely, I've started using them so automatically, it takes me while to think about how to do a thing without them

Hey Warren, quick request. Do you have any good resources on how the GUI works in Modo and how to customize it. Im still confused about it. Perhaps you can do a video about it how to create forms, layout, windows, etc. And save it all out in a efficient clean way without too much scripting (if that is possible). Thanks for the video's!

The modo ui customization tools would benefit from an overhaul. Moving/referencing/scrolling through the extremely long list of palettes, pie menus etc in the Form Editor is daunting and prone to go wrong if you accidentally do something you don't understand. Been there, done that. Spent too much time messing around there. >_< LightWave and Maya handles this beautifully iny my opinion. It would be great to see how Warren handle this in Modo!

I keep meaning to do a video showing what I do BUT my fear is that people will be disappointed. I basically edit text files. I don't use the in-app tools for anything generally since I find them so clunky and hard to control...

I have some artifacts with MOP Boolean. The resulting mesh has always strange shadow problem during preview render...
@WarrenMarshallBiz5 жыл бұрын
Boolean use can result in some nasty topology which can lead to shading artifacts. It's just part of the process. There are various ways to fix those either by (a) using smoothing groups on the high poly mop operators or (b) using them on the resulting, frozen low poly. Other ways as well, including retopo in the worst cases. Nothing is free. Sadly. :) However, bear in mind that most errors will be unnoticeable in the final bake and resulting prop texture. So make sure it's worth fixing before you dive into too deep of a rabbit hole.
