I actually sat in the "show" car and it was equipped with a nitrous bottle at least. The same car you see in this video with the red seats. Sat in it at the Scottish Motor Show when they were promoting it. The nitrous bottle was fitted behind the front seats and looked to be plumbed in.

The Mangusta did get off the ground - I own one of the 284 produced. I own or have owned some pretty cool cars - including a Ferrari 360 Spyder with a gated shifter and a 718 Spyder. My Mangusta has a SC and Tremec 6 speed. The chassis is amazing as is some of the quirks including the worlds only roto top, circles in side mirrors, and handcrafted beautiful Italian leather throughout. I can tell you it’s a very cool special car. Designed by Marcelo Gandini (Lots of lambo’s including Miura, Alfa’s, Maserati’s and Detomaso), Detomaso was behind the Mangusta until the 11th hour. It’s get as much or more attention as Ferrari and 718 Spyder. A very unique and rare car

I always wondered if this car even existed after seeing it in the news segment of Top Gear S1 and the later car review. They never mentioned the 1000hp version

I remember seeing one in the early 2000s and being blown away but in my humble opinion it hasn't aged well and probably couldn't out run a fiesta st 🤣 cool piece of history though.

Does this also have a metro front subframe with the track rods welded in position shoved under the back of it?

Jeremy Clarkson believed mg could get 1,000 hp from an n/a nitrous 5.0 but said it was impossible for bugatti to do it when they announced they were building the Veyron

The Kvale as you called the car company, it was set up by an American dealer who also had tried to save Jensen Motors, the last car he helped Jensen was the Jensen Healey GT, beating BMW M3 breadvan in its design but they do look similar.
