I loved this game back in the day. I liked that it was like Max Payne, but also had melee fighting and a doggo. I remember the story being wackier. It would be a great game to remake to fix the flaws. So hopefully that Max Payne remake is successful so Namco can copy them again ;)

The facted that Jack, a cop, got thrown in prison for murder might be the most unrealistic part of this game. 23:24 He sounded like he was about to spit some bars over a royalty free instrumental. 25:09 Loved this. Sounded like he was gonna say more but decided that he roasted him enough.

The short answer: Yes. I replayed the PS2 version of the hardest difficult and it was ball-bustingly, nut-explodingly hard but By GOD was it satisfying, fun and cathartic. Non-stop action and creativity. The sequels all sucked tho.

He likes it! Hey, Mikey! And, finally, someone who recognizes that this game is campy. I've been in arguments with an online friend that this game fits all the facets of what the concept of "camp" is. It may not be on the level as the third and fourth Saints Row games or the original voice acting in Resident Evil, but there is definitely a camp element to this game. That's part of the charm.

What a blast from the past. Damn were some console versions notoriously difficult, to the point when the Zaibatsu got around to playing this many years back they had to swap out a newer release to make it past "China Town D-Day". Speaking of which, I swear Jack Slate has a bodycount surpassing the population of most Midwest US Cities. Despite it's jank, I think that's part of the charm for me. I'm never gonna forget playing this game in a room full Gen-Zer's laughing their asses off during the Strip-Strip revolution minigame. And call it a hunch, I think Grant Cities Gold Refinery churned out 10 times more gold then Humanity had ever excavated to the point I think it would have had it's value cut in half at least lol.
@MrHammers
@MrHammers Жыл бұрын
I think you're absolutely correct on grant city's gold and Slates body count. Both were astronomically high, but that's part of the ridiculousness that makes this game charming lol

I remember this. I remember having it. I remember liking it, but I cant remember a thing about it, storyline sequence-wise.. But I will say, for the time, this 3rd person adventure was sort of still experimental and Dead to Rights stood out. GTA3 had ONLY come out EIGHT short months before this came out. People often forget that little boom in 3rd person action games of that era. This. GTA3, Max Payne, True Crime Streets of LA, the original Saints Row. A REALLY good one was Total Overdose- VERY underrated GTA3 clone- but VERY good- it was basically GTA in Mexico with cartels instead of mobs.

This game and "the suffering" were some of my favorite games in that time period. Would be cool to get a sequel or a proper "deadspace/mafia 1" style remake. If you want to successfully do a remake. Mafia 1 and especially Deadspace since they added the new "peel" mechanic. Side missions. Dialoge. More fleshed out side characters and more I'm sure. Any company that remakes a game needs to have those 2 games as their standard. I really want another D2R and The Suffering. That game was truly scary at the time

"Dead Of Rights" back then before we had high quality HD gaming was considered a good game. This game had "GTA 3" background environment city graphics. Then add "Stranglehold 's" Shoot & table top slide elements, "Streets Of Rage" combat fights & "Max Payne" vibes......I think the nostalgia is what keeps this game today interesting....if this game would came out today....it's probably wouldn't fly with next Gen gamers. To them this is considered primitive. But us OG gamers, it was a okay game..... 🎮🕹️🤔🕹️🎮🤔🕹️🎮

I always loved Max Payne it came out in my birth year it's one of the second games I've played and Mortal Kombat 4 was the first I'm so glad Rockstar made a deal with remedy so they can remake Max Payne 1 and 2 and as a kid I had dead to rights on GameCube but my half-brother stole it and traded in for Def Jam fight for New York needless to say I never got to play it anyway it's good to see you play it Mr.hammers ✌😂✌

You could hit punch or kick after grabbing, securing more damage before the throw
