Hey everyone! In this video, I talk about my recent weaving project that used my Tour de Fleece 2022 handspun yarns. I made a mulberry silk yarn spun over the fold and though I only had about 124 yards, I wanted to weave with it and use stash yarns to make a fuller project. I have heavy weight scarves, so the project I show in this video is a lighter, gauzy scarf. I used silk, merino wool, and alpaca in the warp and weft...and it was very tricky!
I mention tensile strength a lot in this video, but sometimes I also mean 'elasticity'. Apologies in advance for any confusion (I must have been tired when I filmed this). Silk is very inelastic but wool is very elastic, and that elasticity made this weave a true challenge!
