My only problem with this video is why we are seeing things from colonial lence why not from Indian presepective for example Kamasutra is a manual to please women written in 2500 years ago. Their is Shloka in Vedas " yatra nari pujyante ramante tatra devata" meaning if women is not respected in a home their god don't live. In one of the 18 puranas there is a saying that if all the women of the world get disappeared the humanity would not survive by their own but if all men get disappeared the humanity could survive as many women would be pregnant and the earth would still continue to inhabited. You forgot shakuntala & abhigyanam love story. And love is not a concept it is feeling & emotions. Where a person can do everything for his/her love. I would request you to read the book "Sanskar Vidhi" by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. There the 16 sanskaars of human life has been well-explained by references from vedas, upanishads, darshan,smritis and other arsh sanskrit texts. "Vivaah Sanskaar" is one among the 16 sanskaars of human life. Read that part from there, you will understand the philosophy,method, approach and concept of marriage in our culture and civilisation at its purest and original form. Our culture underwent a lot of distortions in the last several centuries(including marriage rituals) but it would be interesting and enlightening to know its original and pure form especially in the case of a sacred ritual like marriage.

The power of sexual union rest with women as it her choice to pick a mate for sex but the marriage market will be controlled by men if he is resourceful then women had to come to him with proof of youth and virginity.

So called physically normal people tell about their lust as Love.. what if your lover become disabled? will you still accept him/her? Marriage of disabled people is still a taboo around the world unfortunately, no matter how much she /he earn or how much he/she is sensible and mature enough to marry.. It's difficult for some disabled women to carry pregnancy but that doesn't mean they deserve loneliness and worthlessness in society... idk when people mindset will change.. In India disabled man can marry normal body woman by buying her seriously!? what is the position of women??

I want to add how history is written too by invaders - First documentation of marriage according to me was of king Daksha and Prakriti, his wife. The famous one of love marriage was Lord Shiva and sati . But ancient times meant oral education , especially all eastern religions did educate orally for a long period of time . I hate how documentation is considered only when there is a written/carving inscription on wall or paper . Well the west never payed respect to "pagans" anyway , all they did was steal cultures and impose laws .
