@@dancarli8639 minato's life was more important than a kid who'll take 17 years to master kyubi also assuming kyubi is cooperating with naruto, kcm1 naruto has absolutely no chance against tobi. Minato already had a marking on "tobi" which never disappears. Tobi shouldn't have been a threat anymore to minato. He should have let kushina die with nine tails. Then use flying raijin, anbu, uchiha clan to find where it is and let them control and then seal nine tails inside someone.. Btw this also means uchiha clan will never be suspected of nine tails attack. But he sealed it in naruto. Tobi could have attacked naruto right away and take nine tails. No one had counters to kamui. Plot convenience.

he was the best choice i think -Fugaku was easy to manipulated -Orochimaru was too focused in illegal experiment -Danzo always living in “darkness” -If survived , Sakumo was not capable of handling a stress ( he commited suicide remember ) . His mental strength was weaker then Naruto’s who received such resenment and hate from most villagers of Konoha -Jiraiya should mantain spy network -Tsunade still loss in her despair over Dan and Nawaki’s death Minato’s fault was only using the shiki fujin and not the other seal or sealing Kyuubi back to Kushina because if Kushina survived Naruto would have been more poweful with her guidance

to me sakumo did not kill himself due to the external pressure he died because his belief collapsed, sakumo is exactly what the 3rd gen hokage want , a hardcore inheritor of the will of fire he is deeply brainwashed so firmly belives that village and family are the same thing and it his duty to die for the younger generation to grow safely he will not hesitate to things he despise for said family but then he encountered an ideological conflict, finish the task and keep the interest of the village or save his companions life , the family he swore to bring back as the captain. Sakumo believed he did the right thing the will of fire told him he did the right thing but the 3rd and danzo clearly showed him they did not think so, here we have no more information but fans theory goes it was all a political game. sakumo was too powerful too presitgious a proper hokage in the making but the only problem is that he is not the next gen the top brass of konoha had in mind because he lacks a very important thing all hokage had so far he is not a direct line descendant of the kokage party (no master disciple relation with previous hokages) so the 3rd and danzo both agreed to reduce his prestige by controlling public opinion against him (otherwise how could the whole village know such top secret mission information) but they did not expect that doing so would break sakumo's core ideology thus pushing him to death which was a great loss of a trumpcard, their intention was maybe for sakumo to apologize and resign but sakumo chose take a stand, he died a martyrs death with his suicide he said "I am not wrong" I belive it was half succefull the the village did become more leniant after said incident because it hurts too much to have one's trump card die in a political fight

@@jeanmayilu1098 this is thorough explanation and i appreciate it, and many times i wonder about that" brainwash" part you mention, is the will of fire a kind of brain washing? Maybe back in sakumos time leaving the conrads behind for the sake of completing a mission was a part of said brainwashing and sakumo breaking that cause a lot of problem, and i wonder if thats what minato saw and allowed his conrads life to be lost to kinda see the other side of the coin what would sakumo have become if he did not make that decision? because think about it minato taking out 50 shinobi or so at the front line after battling like 1000 during the course of a day prior to that where he receive his moniker, imagine if minato had abandoned that post to make sure his students were safe? He would end up just as sakumo became, so to me sakumo is minato if he stick to the mission and minato is sakumo if he focused on saving his conrads and student.

Low key I can see it. Kakashi is a genius and I doubt it's purely genetic. The fact that Kakashi rose to the level of power and intelligence that he did whispers about Sakumo. Of course Kakashi continued to grow on his own after Sakumo's suicide and Obito's death, but he was already a wise and powerful shinobi before those events transpired. We also know that Sakumo trained Kakashi up to that point because he used Sakumo's fighting style before he developed his own.

I think there not being a Nara hokage is one of the biggest missteps by the leaf. Just hear me out. If a Nara is the hokage that would free up basically all you’re heavy hitters and to sweeten the pot they would all be freed up with battle strategy and plans that would almost guarantee their success. No one ever talks about this but the leaf can best be describe as a body builder with brain of a dementia patient. Outside of Tobirama I struggle to call any of the kage strategic master minds. Hashirama was a known idiot, Hiruzen had no backbone and couldn’t handle internal issues, Minato trust hiruzen, Tsunade didn’t really have any chance to shine strategically, Kakashi is Kakashi, and naruto see Hashirama

I agree that someone from the Nara clan probably would be one of the best hokage, but I also think that none of the Nara could be convinced to take up the position. All the pomp and circumstance and responsibility would be too much of a drag for them.

In Kakashi defence, during his rule he managed to do 2 hardest things ever, somehow make Naruto smarter and Sasuke less edgy. + While it's completly outscreen, I doubt Naruto was the only person responsible for resolution of Huyga slave system. Hinata is completly passive and only cares about being a housewife for Naruto. Naruto has weight in his words, but he isn't the best person for political problems. Especially right after the war. Which leaves only Kakashi to find solution to that.

For me obito never really hated the people of the shinobi world but the shinobi world itself, we saw it many times he just kills because he thinks its because of a higher purpose he thinks he has, at first it was hatred as hatred is required to activate a msngekyo sharingan, but when obito became older he matured and started to take the plan more seriously

I think Jiraiya wouldn't be at all similar to Orochimaru. Even if Hiruzen retires as Hokage, he still exists, which means Orochimaru still gets run out of the village. Danzo has no power over Jiraiya. Jiraiya's issue is that no paperwork would get done. There wouldn't be ninja missions and funding like there is and the leaf would develop into a more capitalist like society. Where instead of the Hokage being so great and distributing funds fairly, you'd have organizations within the leaf hiring Shinobi and handling ninja mission business themselves. Think Root, but like *50. It's fucking gross. The Hokage desk job is super important, almost as important as being powerful enough to defend, and even more important than being skilled/smart enough as a Ninja to see through deceit and run the village. Jiraiya doesn't have what it takes to do that, and Naruto and Tsunade only did because they had help from friends. Shikamaru's Dad would be pretty decent at that, efficient, but in the event of an attack, the role of Hokage would mean something different with him as Hokage. If the village in attacked, typically the Hokage is the strongest Ninja in the village, they're not the king on a chess/shogi board. They're the queen. The problem with Shikamaru's dad is that he kind of becomes the king, I mean still the children/and the citizens of the leaf are what you really fight to defend, but he would stop an attack by commanding how strong units in battle from a room similar to the war in Shippuden. I think the real problem with this guy, is that just isn't that good of a guy, he kinda doesn't like women, and you don't want him making decisions for women, or the role of a Kunoichi, might be a lot more similar to how it is IRL, and that's no good. As for Fugaku, he's a terrible choice, not only does he likely not have what it takes to do the paper work, but he like Orochimaru views the Hokage not as a civil servant, but as a position of power. He might still have what he considers the villages best interests at heart, but the village is mainly going to be considered the Uchiha by him. He's also a terrorist. If you give in to terrorism, you legitimize it. Let him be Hokage, and then when it comes time to make a decision like should Orochimaru/Kabuto/Obito/Sasuke be executed for betraying the village (assuming Sasuke wasn't his kid) he'd want to execute them, rather than rehabilitate them. Which if the villagers like Naruto/Jiraiya/Kakashi stand in his way, they become enemies of the leaf because this little terrorist is going to have his way, or else. The best choice is probably actually to abolish the system of Hokage in favor of a Council, the first of which should be made up of Minato, Itachi, Tsunade, Jiraiya, and the Third Hokage. This lowers the amount of work placed on any 1 individual, and helps to settle disputes down the line, instead of "Sasukes a traitor, go ahead and kill him" you have 5 people voting, people who care about the village and others lives and will do their best to make what most decidedly good people would consider the best decisions. It is also possible that if this happens early enough (Aka before talk of Uchiha uprising) that Fugaku could be the one on the council instead of Itachi, with the intent to someday pass that role down to Itachi. Again, IF HE'S NOT YET A TERRORIST.

I agree with most of this but I wouldn't call fugaku a terrorist. after all there is a diffrerence betweeen someone wanting to attack the leader of a country because you want to be the one in power vs doing that cause your people are being systematicly discriminated against and literally being put in a concentration camp and the leader not doing shit about it cause he's friends with the guy who wants your clan dead

Fugaku was literally holding back Uchiha, because he didn't wanted losses for Uchiha AND big number of casualties among civilians. Besides, where the hell you got information that Fugaku sees Hokage only from position of power? The only reason he desired to overthrow heads of the leaf is to stop distain of Uchiha, not desire of power. And Fugaku is quite kindhearted (by Uchiha and ninja standarts), but it's applicable to leaf shinobi in general. Fugaku one of the most sane Uchiha of all time: Itachi is schizoid, who thinks thats a good idea to use MS on 7 years old, for a plan that works only on luck; Shisui is a complete dumbass, who had ALL tools to prevent everything, but desided to waste time; Madara is completly naive and delusional, considering that he thinks putting entire world in genjutsu is a solution to problems; other Uchiha are just idiots, blinded by arrogance and hatred; and Sasuke is Sasuke. And Fugaku is just like: "What kind of person I would be to fight my own son to death", that's already shows that he won't fight Itachi even, if that means death of his entire clan, his wife and himself. I think with such high morale he won't be rulling Konoha like Danzo or Orochimaru.
