I can understand how some fans won't like this, but for me it's amazing. I like the more experimental, prog rock thing they've been doing since The Stage. The message in this song is really deep, I think what you take away from it is very personal. It's a legit piece of art IMO. Both the song itself and the video.

My issue with it is they just seem do damn determined to transition out of rock and metal to a more experimental industrial sound. I follow the TRAX podcast where they discuss songs in depth. They just released the podcast for Nobody, and I heard a lot of talk from all of them about being bored by rock and metal in general these days. I just don't know what the future of Avenged Sevenfold looks like right now, and it's very concerning for me

@@Britton_ThompsonI honestly didn’t like the song at first but it grows on you. I do see your point but i think we should wait for the album to comeout to really judge.

This song is actually about a 5-MEO DMT trip (powerful hallucinogenic) Synyster Gates and M Shadows took at some point during the past 4 years. That's why the skeleton is able to access all of time and space to make grand realizations before returning back to his body again at the end. A skeleton with no organs and musculature on it was the simplest way to express the base idea of a figure having "no body" (hence the title, 'Nobody') since you can't animate a shapeless 'soul' floating around the cosmos when it's in a state of astral projection. Well, I suppose you could animate that if you wanted. You just wouldn't be able to do it with stop motion photography.

I like what to me seemed inferred in the journey for the character in the video. At the beginning it’s the character experiencing his world as he saw it, then a collaboration of people building their way to “heaven” or to view the cosmos. Then he journeys to another plane in which there is never ending war amongst all, a “hell” of sorts. His last plane to visit is then a simulated “heaven” in which all is manufactured and fake. This leads to a disillusioned view of what the character thought would be his resolution. Then a return to the body in which now he sees this is all happening simultaneously and understands that all those things are real and he is one and a part in all those things and always will be even in death. A beautiful allegory in my opinion. Very deep and philosophical as well as fitting to the song.

Pretty impressive that you hit the nail on the head with the meaning of life notion because that's exactly what the album, Life is But a Dream is all about with the philosopher Albert Camus as inspiration with their writing. The final verse of the song is my favorite. "Return to the boundless Immerse in the free Letting go as you lose your name And all you've known to be"

Great song that ties together thoughts of transcendence, our meaning (nothing as they portray), chaos in the plausibility behind that ideology…. Brain in the vat kind of feel but I really enjoyed the melodic rhythm to the song they wanted you to feel like it was constantly rolling over

Actually M Shadows got the idea to this song, after visiting a shamen, that made him inhale some stuff, and taking him into a so called Ego death experience, where it feels like you soul leaves your body, and you can obsterve your own human body from above, and at the same time not really feeling human.. The place at the end with the barcodes and stuff is like the promised land, everyone told you about, but it dosent really exist, lets take a example lets say that heaven is a promised land you was told is there, but maybe it isnt.. that way.. And the suicide note at the end, well you can wonder, did this man kill himself actually, or was it a Ego death experience..
@Themetaphysician19998 ай бұрын
I’ve experienced this myself. I know what he’s talking about. Ego death is the ability to see beyond the 'I' part of you and waking up to who you are to the deepest core(the soul).

That's an interesting analysis! I was thinking it was about the experience of death and the psychology of that ego loss (all the musical experimentation and droning in the song really amps that up), commenting on the afterlife, etc. The skele walks through the streets seeing all the other people that time has erased, and eventually is taken to heaven by the grim reaper, but the skele realizes it's all fake and throws himself into the abyss, only to return to his body (maybe with a new perspective about life). I took the "adieu" note as a suicide note or something but who knows. It's so deep and interesting I love that people can watch the same thing and come away with different ideas of what it's about.

So the new album is a concept album, i heard the A7X guys say, that no song on new album represent the sound of the album really, so i think we are in for diffrent vibes in the tracks, where this one is right in the middle, To the critics i will say i dont agree, i think again A7X is not following certain mainstream stuff, they do still experiment, and i epriciate that, and are pretty exited to hear the full album, im more exited for this then rest of Metallica album to be honest..

On their Trax podcast the band talked about how they want to create something new every album and that's why I love them so much. I can never get tired of them. And thats why I prefer them compared to bands like Metallica because I feel like Metallica just makes the same sounding albums over and over. Might get a lot of heat for that but that's just my opinion.

The best way to understand this album and the songs on it is to listen to it start to finish in order. I know people have different interpretations of what it’s about but my take is AI/android becoming sentient and then realizing the meaningless of life. It’s genius, beautiful and quite nihilistic. It’s reality.
