Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel for more videos like this here!: bit.ly/2rx7crK Join me on Instagram! instagram.com/emwilss Watch PART 2 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3nOopmkiL2Ja7M For those who are confused as to how I can say there is a difference between the two if I have not myself experienced both - in the video I am speaking to a factual difference, which is objective. I did not say, "Sex with a boyfriend is LIKE this...", I stated that when you have sex with your husband, you are having sex with someone who has stated vows to you, and when you have sex with your boyfriend, you are having sex with someone who has not stated vows to you. Whatever you believe about vows, this is an objective, concrete, indisputable fact that anyone can speak to. This is obviously very personal for me to share but you all know I ALWAYS want what is best for you and hope this helps those of you who have questions like "Nadia." I don't think there's such thing as a "perfect" wedding night, but mine was "perfect" in the sense that I shared in it with my husband, a man who I knew loved me for exactly who I am and who God created me to be. There's nothing I would ever change about that. Thanks for watching and feel free to share with any friend who may need to hear this.

I am saving myself for marriage. I’m 21 and going to be married in December. I cannot tell you HOW MANY girls in high school came at me with the same line of “you should just get it out of the way because it’s gonna be super awkward and painful on your wedding night it’s gonna suck”. They would laugh and taunt me and call me “Betty Crocker the virgin with her hymen still intact”... yeah. It was bad. And I used to be so angry that anyone would try to look down on my decision for waiting because I used to be insecure and seriously considered taking their advice, to this day I thank GOD that I stayed true to who I am because I am ecstatic to share that beautiful moment with a man who truly loves me and we are vowing our lives to each other. Those same girls I’ve seen suffer heart break and pain from casual encounters and even though they mistreated me, I wish them the best. Because waiting for marriage is such a beautiful thing. God blesses those who walk in his will. Xoxo

As a guy, and saving myself till I was married. What I was told about the wedding night was not all true. After the wedding me and my wife where so tired physically from planning the ceremony that we got to the hotel and crashed, no sex, talking or nothing just so physically burnt out we walked in the hotel room and crashed. But the next couple days of the honeymoon where fantastic.

I have sooooo much respect for the women in the comment section. Who had waited and are currently waiting for marriage. Especially considering that we are living in the most hyper sexualized culture of any time before now. I just want to congratulate you and for what it's worth? Tell you that I'm proud of all of you ladies and gentlemen who waited. Bravo everyone, bravo!!

Yes! Why would it be an awful night if you are spending it with the one you trust? Also, sex should not hurt. If it does, then stop and figure out why (most commonly: lack of lubrication), but it shouldn't be uncomfortable nor should it leave you injured. I am so done with people saying it is normal for sex to hurt, because that is just poor education, and you all deserve better.

So true! I was a virgin on my wedding night. Lots of people told me it would be weird and awkward. It wasn’t. This is the man that I love and the person I am closest to. Not awkward at all. Everything I was afraid of wasn’t even an issue.

This is a FANTASTIC video. I couldn't agree more!! My husband and I were both virgins on our wedding night, and it was one of the most beautiful and special nights of my life! My husband and I are actually releasing a 10-part video series called "The Wedding Night Talks" in July! It's all about what to know before your wedding night - what to talk about, how to prepare, and what you can do to make sex beautiful instead of painful on your wedding night - and it's specifically created for engaged couples who are saving sex for marriage! We are so excited about it! Anyway, LOVED this video. Thank you!

As someone who waited as did my husband I would never call it awkward either. But my husband and I talked so much before that night about it all he knew what to do when he noticed me getting nervous. The sweet man he stopped what we were doing and prayed with me and for us. Sex was and is so beautiful with my husband.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been scolded by my “friends” for still being a virgin in college. It had gotten to the point where I had to remember that God had designed for sex to occur between a husband and wife, not some close friend or committed boyfriend of a long time. My honoring God, wanting to be faithful to him and putting my trust in him, is what keeps me in check. He’s a Faithful God, and everything happens in HIS timing! Through all the questions and opposing opinions from others of things that he has instructed for us to abide by, I will continue to follow him! He never leads me wrong. Thank you for sharing your message! This is such an important topic and I believe everyone needs to here this!! I needed to here this too lol

I absolutely love that you talk about relationships, contraception, and sex so openly and with so much love. It upsets me that more adults aren't open to talking about sex. In my confirmation class, we only did one class period about this and it was just a video. None of the adults really answered our questions or talked honestly.

Thank you so much for this Emily! I’m 25 and am saving sex for marriage. I’ve never been in a relationship before and sometimes I feel that pressure that I’m missing out, I’m not experienced compared to others my age. But after listening to you, I would rather miss out right now so that, if I get married, I am able to experience the immense love and freedom that comes from having sex for the first time with your spouse. Thank you so much, I think people don’t talk about this because they think it’s awkward, but these are the stories single people need to hear! ❤️

As someone who studies various health topics in her field of study, (I'm going to be very honest here...) If you take the time to properly lead up to the actual intercourse and not just rush into it, your body will prepare itself and it shouldn't be painful. Maybe uncomfortable the first few times, but not painful... As Christians, we need to be okay talking about these things at the appropriate times and with the appropriate people (ex. Ask your gynecologist?). I know some people don't agree with that but this is a beautiful part of marriage that God created, so we should be able to talk about it. I hope that's helpful to someone! And Emily is so right that with someone who cares about you, you go through this process together and learn together, so you can have peace about that!
@Neverseenstars

I think this is all based off some some sort of childish expectation that the wedding night has to be absolutely perfect. Also, it shouldnt be painful if your partner is considerate of you and nobody said you had to do the whole 9 yards in one night if you dont want to....sometimes thats not for the best and thats a decision between you and your husband.

It's been proven that as women, we are actually way more likely to have less pain and more/better orgasms if we feel safe and relaxed, so a loving safe marriagehas got to be the best environment for having sex for the first time. I'm an unmarried virgin. My boyfriend is not a virgin though, he was pressured into sex by a much older girl when he was 14 and felt like he was kind of ruined, couldn't go back to saving sex for marriage so he had sexual relationships with a few girlfriends in his teen years. I'm really happy that he has since reclaimed the idea that sex is best saved for marriage and is now practicing celibacy until marriage and seeking healing from God. I know those relationships did a lot of damage to how he viewed himself and I'm sad for the way that having sex in those relationships was so transactional and not the caring, trusting, love filled experience between spouses. We're both really happy that we get to save sex for marriage in our relationship and keep God at the center.

Even if you’ve had sex before, it’s different when you are with your husband. I think the thing that I wish someone would have told me before having sex before marriage is that you will wish you could have only given yourself to your mate. I didn’t understand the beauty and true love that is expressed in that moment when you’ve made that commitment and vow to each other. No one can say yes it will hurt or no it won’t hurt, but like you said when you are with your partner for life they are going to be cautious about your body. If anything more so because there is a deeper connection already established, a genuine love.

Thank you so so much for being open to share this!!!!! It's something that a lot of us girls worry about in the back of our minds that we feel embarrassed to ask other married Catholics, about it being painful or uncomfortable, etc. Though I'm not married I would also like to add that physical intimacy/sex between a married couple isn't supposed to pinnacle just at the wedding night, it's something that grows as your marriage grows over time and you know and understand each other deeper. Right?

I’m really glad you’re talking about this! It’s always nice to see people fighting the “sex always hurts the first time” myth. I just want to add though, that being married doesn’t automatically make sex great (I don’t think that’s what this video is saying, but I feel like people could take it that way). Communication about sex (before and during) is important in order to know what will make the other person feel comfortable and happy. 🙂

This was an excellent video. Sometimes growing up in a religious household, sex can be treated like it is something bad, dirty, or sinful, to the point that even when you get married, you feel like it’s still wrong to do. You can tense up and even discover that you suffer from a condition called vaginismus, where the pubic floor muscles spasm involuntarily as soon as something gets close to the vagina. This is due to having a negative view of sex from horrible experiences such as rape but it can also be caused by fighting parents, or simply hearing negative stories about sex like “not being able to walk for days”. Vaginismus can make sex very painful or impossible because the muscles close the opening of the vagina. This is why it is so important to educate ourselves on our anatomy and watch truthful videos like this one instead of listening to twisted stories. Thank you so much for talking about this openly and for enlightening so many God fearing girls who wish to do His will by waiting until marriage, but feel anxiety over it. ❤️❤️❤️

Ok, it's not that I disagree with you, but in the beginning, you said no one has the right to speak about an experience but the person who went through that same experience themselves ... and then one minute later you say how sex with a person who isn't your husband is completely different from the sex with someone else ... hypocrisy much? you said you were a virgin on your wedding night so how can you possibly now that? I personally don't mind expressions of concern from people, even if they didn't go through it, it just shows love from them. And it seems you suffer from the same thing as them. Let's not throw stones if living in a glass house, key?

Yes I was completely thinking the same thing. People who make a different choice on when and who they choose to have sex with shouldn’t be judged, especially coming from a place that claims to not be judgemental. I can’t talk to someone else’s experience (or judge) about losing their virginity on their wedding night, and I expect that same respect to be given back to me.

I think what makes girls bleed and be in much pain is because the men were probably just hard and quick to penetrate and didn't take the time for foreplay. Foreplay helps to calm the nerves and put both in the right mood. Lubricants also help for virgins. I don't regret waiting. Hubby and I slept a lot cuz we were tired and it wasn't till midnight before we could do-the-do :) It's great to wait and even greater to learn and grow in "sexual wisdom" together.

Great video...as it is a difficult message to put out there in a sense. It should be appreciated by people who truly respect and understand the true meaning of marriage. Hopefully, the woman who posed the question will seek Christ being that a good, and proper marriage begins with Him....then ALL aspects afterwards will fall into place - including sex during their first night of marriage!! Thank you for this video. It speaks volumes!!! km

How do you know its different when you can't speak of how it's like to have sex before marriage? You said no one who has not waited for marriage can speak about what it's like to wait and so it's the same the other way around. You can't speak about what it's like not to wait.
@emwilss
@emwilss 6 жыл бұрын
I did not speak to what it's like not to wait. The one and only thing I spoke to was the FACTUAL difference that when you have sex with your husband you are having sex with a man who vowed his entire life to you and when you have sex with your boyfriend that aspect is not there.

Emily Wilson you spoke about there being a difference when you've never had sex before marriage so how do you personally KNOW that there is a FACTUAL difference? Or is it just your opinion that there is a difference?
@emwilss
@emwilss 6 жыл бұрын
Yes! Vows in place between two people are an absolute fact, not an opinion. That is the difference I spoke to in the video.

Wow! Spoken by a woman of truth and confidence as she explains the importance of waiting to experience the marital embrace after marriage. The love she expresses towards her husband is similar to the love for the Blessed Virgin Mary showed toward her Son as depicted over her left shoulder. Continue to be a public witness for Christ. God will bless and reward you accordingly.

Thank you Emily! This is a hard topic to share so thank you! As a virgin I always tought that specially in the "first time" i want to be with my husband and best friend. Otherways it would be really weird even scary. Glad to discover that i'm not the only one with that idea 😊 As always sorry for my "meh" english. God bless you all 😙

Personally, I think the girls that say that the wedding night will be awkward are trying to justify their own choice. No girl has ever said that they regretted waiting longer to have sex.

I am not religious, but enjoy your videos very much. I love how you empower women! What you said about how sex with your husband is different because of the lives you share from your wedding onwards, I think I can relate, even though a (godly) marriage is not a goal of mine. I am however in a relationship with a wonderful man and we KNOW we are the ones for each other. My first time with him was SO DIFFERENT then what I had in a previous relationship. I really think that has to do with the promise (in your case vows) that we would love each other for as long as possible. Take care :)

Emily thank you for sharing this. You not only speak for the ones who wait till marriage but for all others as well. Every girl i know has this misconception about having sex for the first time being awkward and painful. When you talked about your wedding night i thought about the exact same three words i would describe my experience with. I LOVE how you say experiencing your wedding night made you feel free, i share the same feeling and i feel so sorry for the women who connect sex with guilt and shame. It isn't shameful at all when you decide to be not only physically but also mentally and emotionally as close to the person you love the most (and who loves you back) as possible. Feeling this connection to someone else and knowing he will always be there to comfort and protect you made me feel so free and powerful. You are so bright and wonderful and full of love, i admire the way you share your knowledge with others 🌺🌸🤗

Both of us were virgins when we got married and of course, it was the best thing ever! Whats shocking is that now you have to tell people "its ok, and in fact better to do it that way", when back in the day anybody who had 2 brain cells to rub together knew that! The world is upside down!!

Also their can be a huge difference between have sex as a young teenager and an adult. Physically things are different. Also as you said there won't be any questioning, regret, guilt or anxiety going on in your head. I have to laugh at the advice givers worrying about it being awkward about their wedding night. When you have already been sexually active, especially with multiple partners then the wedding night doesn't really mean anything. It's just another roll in the hay. It doesn't consummate anything.

ugh i LOVE you! thank you so much for this! i was talking to someone about a lot of things and sex was a topic because he asked if i was (synonym for prude, i don’t remember the word) and he had a really convinced mindset about everything and even though i had different opinions and strong arguments and looked convinced of my thoughts, and even though he told me i have a strong mindset, i’ve been questioning my decisions
