I'm not a woman of faith, but I think your videos are so relatable, regardless. I've recommended your videos to so many of my friends, mostly young women, some who are Christian and some who aren't. You're spreading such a positive message and you seem very open minded. You offer a refreshing perspective on love, marriage and relationships in an age of hook-ups and 'friends with benefits' culture. Nice to be reminded that we're not just being "boring" by sticking with what is right for us. Thank you for your videos!

Subscribe here : bit.ly/2rx7crK As I mentioned in this video, some of you may have been the victims of abuse in your life. If that is the case - often reading, praying, and talking to others isn't enough to help you heal from the trauma you have experienced. I strongly encourage you to talk to someone and seek professional help or counseling to help you in your journey of healing. You didn't deserve what happened to you - and you deserve FREEDOM in your life. You are loved.

As a German, raised with a completely different sexual education (in school, society, etc) I wish there would have been a hint of the things you explain in your videos. We have been tought that we can have sex whenever we are ready for, when it's mutual with our partner. That we can do whatever we want as long as we keep it "safe". I wish there would have been someone like you telling us that it's special and should be shared with someone special. I love your videos so much and I have been rethinking a lot of my beliefs since I watch them. Thank you so much! ❤

I came across part one of this video and loved it, so I just watched this second part. Coming from a 16 year old girl who has grown up a Christian and had a strong faith this is a topic that truly needs to be talked about and understood. It is incredibly helpful to hear from someone who saved themselves for marriage that it was so worth it and that you have no regrets about it. I've always grown up with the mind set that I will save myself for marriage and that sex outside of marriage is bad. Now I have reached the climax point in my life where I am facing the battle and beginning to question my original thoughts. This was very reassuring to me though. It reminded me why I believe what I do, so thank you so so so much!

Emily, I am convinced that this video was brought to me through Divine Providence. My parents recently talked to me about sex after I read some disturbing things about it online. I found out about sex on the internet because whenever I asked anyone about it, I was always told that I was too young to know. That angered me so I went online to figure out this mystery myself. Well, one thing lead to another and this started a horrible period in my life where I kept reading immodest books. Thanks to the guidance of a wonderful priest, I was able to overcome this vice. But because of the huge secrecy surrounding this topic, I conditioned myself to believe it was bad. I even thought it was bad in the marital state. But lately, I've been working on changing that thought pattern and thanks to your video, I'm finding it a little easier to think of sex as something good. 😊Thank you so much, Emily!

You always know what to say and how to say it in a way that is easy to understand! Through middle school and high school, we were taught not to have sex because there are dangers of contracting a disease-which makes it seem as if they are saying sex is bad. Thank you for this! I'd love to see more videos on this topic! 😊💜

I’m a 40 year old woman with 6 kids, 13 to 1. As a practicing Catholic I truly believe in everything you said but I would add that the responsability and right we have as parents is to teach our children about a healthy sexuality since they are born. First through example and then using the right books and material. Doing it through the eyes of absolute and perfect love (God’s love) is the only way the future generations will look at marital sex as the right and wholesome way to be truly happy. I pray every day so that my husband and I can educate our children as God intended it!

And I totally agree that this is the parents responsibility - but it is a tragic fact that most parents seem too unwilling, embarrassed, or shy to take up that important task!

This is the sex talk i never got.... i SO appreciate this!!! I was raised with the underlying understanding that the topic of sex is a taboo thing that you don't talk about, think about, nothing. And then in 9th grade health class we went through a section on sex....kind of... it was ALL ABOUT STD's and nothing else...and it included a slideshow of graphic images. That was the explanation I got about it growing up. And now that I'm engaged, I've been really working hard to rewire my brain and there has been some progress made, but theres still a lot for me to work on. I started that third book you talked about and so far its super good!

Thank you for this message Emily! We need to talk more about topics that are awkward and uncomfortable to talk about that so many believers shy away from. If we shine a light on and get some good insight into what The Creator thinks about sex and its purpose, then the devil will lose his power of deceiving us into thinking that our Heavenly Father hates sex. That way we'll be better prepared for marriage and *everything else that comes with it.*

Recommended reads, in case you didn't catch it: 1. Theology of the body explained 2. Good news about sex and marriage 3. Sex, Jesus and the conversations the church forgot Thanks for the recommendation and thank you for sharing! I'm married since last October and although we are very attracted to each other in every way, I feel there may be a deep seated guilt in us that is stopping us from experiencing the beauty of sex fully (We are both Catholics). Will definitely look into these books. To unmarried couples, my advice is - do not stay together until you are married. I stayed together because we had to do our civil marriage in Switzerland and I am from Malaysia. The fact that we maintained chastity while staying together before church marriage, although it was just a couple of months after civil wedding didn't help with the flow of things. Any desires we had were pushed aside and it seems that we have been "trained" to suppress them. Emily, if you manage to read this and have any thoughts on it at all, I'd love and appreciate to hear from you. :)

I am in no way religious, but I enjoy your videos because they are a respectful way to see other opinions. I do not believe sex should only be between married people, but I do think it is a very romantic and intimate thing shared between people. I respect people who wait until marriage, but I don't see it as a bad thing if you don't. This is just my opinion. But I'm glad that you are a sex-positve person of faith, because there are very few others like you. Religious people need more people like you to teach them that sex is not wrong.

Thank you for making this video!! I wish my mom could have seen this video when I was younger. I had absolutely no idea what sex was except that is was bad and sinful. My mom taught me nothing about it on purpose. When I was 22 I had to look it up online to figure out what it was as I was dating for the first time, (my now husband) and he didn’t want to be the one to educate me on everything sexual including my own anatomy. From my wedding night forward I had a difficult time flipping the switch to believing sex was good and glorifying God. I felt dirty and sluty for enjoying sex and getting into it or initiating. Things have gotten much better with time. I will definitely teach my daughters differently.

If you are a woman struggling with seeing sex as good, I suggest “The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex” by Sheila Wray Gregoire. I’m getting married soon and have been trying to “rewire my brain” before my wedding night, and this book is helping a lot.

I'm in my early 30s and I think I have some deep-seated fears about sex :( While I know it's good in a marriage, I have been pretty preoccupied with the sin aspect (I am still a virgin but have crossed a few physical boundaries along the way). I don't have any background of abuse. I am also pretty scared about the degree to which the first few times are going to hurt. Sometimes I wonder if I'd actually get through my wedding night if I ever have one! I'm going to really have to pray and get some support on this, and hopefully there will be some amazingly loving, understanding, and patient guy out there for me one day. Thanks, Emily, for your encouraging videos! I will have to add some of those books to my ever-growing list! God bless you all :)

I have different religious beliefs but agree with all of your sentiments. I wish I had been taught positive things about sex instead of the shunning and silence. Thanks so much for making this video! I hope the next generation will grow up with a more positive outlook on this topic.

I am not religious at all, however, I like your videos and I like the way you speak. Do you believe it is ok for people who love each other who are the same gender, to get married?

Can you explain what it means to be a Catholic-Christian? I know Catholics and Christians have different beliefs but the core belief is the same which is that they both believe in the same God. Can you explain what it means to you to be a Catholic-Christian? Thanks!

Fernanda Jofre catholics are Christians.. the early church was catholic. A lot of Catholics don’t have a relationship with Jesus but are catholic in name only. I think the distinction you want to make is between catholic and Protestant. Catholics believe in the fellowship of the saints. They believe they can ask people who have passed to pray for them and ask Jesus on their behalf for things. They also believe in real presence communion. That during communion the bread and wine become the literal body and blood of Christ. They also believe in confession, go through a confirmation in the church, practice adoration (worshipping in front of the Eucharist (the bread they believe has transformed into the spirit of Jesus) ), etc. they also do have some different views on sexuality. They don’t believe birth control is permissible even in marriage. They’re very pro life. They also believe masturbation is sinful, which is different than Protestant denominations. They really revere Mary. They see her as the queen of heaven and believe that she helps people learn about her son. They also pray the rosary where they ask Mary to pray for them and also pray directly with Jesus.

Fernanda Jofre a lot of Christians say that Catholics cannot be Christians for reasons I’m not entirely sure. Catholics refer to themselves as “Catholic-Christians” because Catholics are Christians because they believe that Jesus is God. Catholics are the original Christians. The Catholic Church was founded by Christ and his followers were called Christians, or followers of Christ. Martin Luther split from the Catholic Church and started the “Protestant” Church. Catholics can trace it back to the Apostles whereas all other Christians can only trace it so far. Protestants believe in God but they don’t have the Eucharist. Catholics have the Eucharist- that is, Jesus fully comes down in the form of bread and wine- body, blood, soul, and divinity. Jesus is fully present in the Eucharist. Anyways back to that, some Catholics, a lot of younger ones, refer to themselves as “Catholic-Christians” because they are Christians who are Catholic and other Christians feel less intimidated to talk to them hearing that they are Christians. I’m not positive, but that is sort of an explanation for it! Hopefully I helped a little bit!

Fernanda Jofre Catholics were the first Christians during Roman times and then the other branches broke off from the Catholic Church during the Protestant Reformation. So we all believe in the same god and love Jesus. Hope this helped :)

Fernanda, check out for exemple LizziesAnswers yt channel, it's a Christian girl that converted to catholic Church and she talks about many things that differ between protestants and catholics and why she chose the Church as the fullest approach to God. Also try CatholicAnswers, a yt channel and radio where different non-catholics raise questaions about catholic faith and it;s answered by catholic apologists, laity and clergy, you may find thet helpful to understand. Explaining everything in a yt comment would be too long ;)

The distinction isn't between Catholics and Christians, but Catholics and Protestants. Catholics and Protestants are both Christians, but have some differences in beliefs.

I agree with you so much! I have been married almost 17 years. Sex is such a beautiful and wonderful expression of love and intimacy. I went into my marriage letting go of any hang ups I may have had about sex. I chose to give myself fully to my husband. We have never used sex as a way to manipulate one another. We have always made sure we take care of each other’s needs. Sex with my husband is one of my favorite activities. Sex is good and amazing!

I thank you for this message because it is definitely renewing my mind about sex. From being active to saving myself for my husband there aren’t many I know doing it so me coming from bad experiences to say no it’s good , it becomes hard to believe but when you break down the fact that God mad it , I can be free in that & know I don’t have to hide anything from my husband pertaining it ! Thank you so much God bless you & your ministry & family !

What if you were raised in a culture that says the opposite "do it, do it, do it", 'cause you need to enjoy life... And you don't agree with that, you don't like randomly being with people or hooking up and people look weirdly at you and make you feel less experienced and therefore weird?
