Wash your fins! Radiator Rotating and Deep Cleaning - CAT299D

Finally, I found the reason my CAT299D has been having so many issues with overheating.
If you're seeing the same symptoms, and have done the same troubleshooting as I have (check my last few tractor videos for more details!), don't forget to also try washing your fins! In this video I rotate the radiator, remove the fan shroud, and clean the fins of my radiator.
It's a messy job but someone's gotta do it.
This cleared error code that I kept receiving: E361-3 High Engine Coolant Temperature

It won't affect engine sensors with all the water falling on top of it .?

That’s a great question. All of the connectors are supposed to be sealed. If you imagine it raining, the water would also take this path. If cat didn’t design this to work during rain, it would be a huge failure. With that being said, after this deep clean, I let the engine compartment dry for 48 hours before starting it.

There is a solvent that you can use on radiator fins. Its engine and component safe.
