And for everyone speaking about price: Surprisingly, that's cheap for the area. Most studios in central DC are $2000+ without utilities included. $1700 with utilities is considered a great bargain.

You're one of the few youtubers with a studio apartment tour, who actually gives details of how much you pay and not the address but at least the location. That helps because it gives people an idea of how much they'll be paying if they decide to move.

I saw your book on your bed stand. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lack. It made me curious and I had to go look her up and WOW was I ever amazed. Thank you for showing the book and also giving me a huge bite of Medical history. I don't like the fact that her cells were taken without consent, but I do like that she lives on with all the research that is done with her cells. I am a two time cancer survivor and maybe it's because of that research that I am alive today. I also love your apartment. It's beautiful.
@crystaltharrell4 жыл бұрын
Congratulations! It makes me so happy to know that you are doing well and kicking cancer's butt! My sister is a medical laboratory scientist and I study Epidemiology, so she loaned me that book. It changed my life and the way I thought about research. My father was diagnosed with cancer when I was young, and that sparked my curiosity in cancer health disparities. Henrietta's story is a beautiful tragedy. I couldn't read that book without crying.

That’s a real nice place you got there! I love studios and used to live in one, but got a one bedroom apartment now. You got a great knack for decorating! And yeah, I got a sofa similar to yours from Amazon too, in black, and find that it’s not all that comfortable also, and will be replacing it too, with a cool metal daybed I found on Amazon. I’m a put a 10” memory foam mattress on it and a futon cover rather than a daybed set and bed sheets, and then load it up with decorative pillows so it will look more like a couch than a bed. I love your LOA notes you have posted around.
@crystaltharrell4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I want to improve my decorating skills, so I am always on Pinterest looking for new ideas. Lol the sofa is awful, but I do like the way it looks. That's a really good idea! I may try something similar if I can't find the sofa I want
@bc12484 жыл бұрын
Crystal Clear Consider a daybed. Bcuz it’s about the same length as a small sofa, will provide a comfortable bed for overnight guests, certainly more comfortable sofa seating, and then there’s no limit to how you can decorate the bed with covers and pillows. Your apt theme is a lot of white, so a white metal daybed will the bomb. Throw all the pillows you got on it and put a smoking futon cover on the mattress. One with a nice geometric print or something. Though, the daybed will take up a bit more space than your present sofa depth wise. LOL! I know that for me, cute alone doesn’t cut it. So that cute black sofa I just bought is going. And my space is limited bcuz I gotta a lot of furniture in my livingroom, and the more comfy sofas like the Ashley Darcy sofa for example, is too big. That thing is about 90” long, and what I got now is 77”. I don’t want nothing over 78”. So that’s why I’m going for the daybed. It’s deeper than any sofa but the same width as a small sofa. And just to think, anytime I want a different looking couch, all I gotta do is put a different futon cover on the mattress and change up the pillows.
