WOW! I'm speechless. I typically look at covers with a sceptical eye. You, my friend, nailed this. Not only did you stay true to the original, and not put your "spin" on it, you have the actual talent to pull it off. I grew up with CSN(Y). I can tell that you did too. THANK YOU!!

Thanks so much! Yeah, I sometimes get criticized for "not bringing something new" to a cover. But I just feel like it needs to be a close as possible. In this case, mostly the vocals. But still. I'm glad you liked it!

Really lovely. I like how your guitar sounds perfectly natural. When I record my acoustic guitar it sounds mega boomy and harsh and ugly.
@HomebrewAudioRecording3 ай бұрын
Thanks! I actually used a Shure SM81 mic pretty close to the guitar. The video doesn't show it. I aim the mic for about the 12th fret to minimize boominess. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I'll try. The channel is more about teaching people to do audio recording - for both music and spoken stuff (podcasts, audiobooks, voice over, etc.). And thi is a fun way to show some music recording techniques.

Well, how fantastic is this!!! I immediately wanted to know how did you do this and then saw your link to the method and THEN to the course. Hmmm, very temping especially with your very good teaching technique. Thanks for all of this! BTW where is your mic??? I don't see one near you.
@HomebrewAudioRecording Жыл бұрын
Thanks Scott! I recorded the parts first so they could be properly mixed. I wanted it to sound perfect. Then I played and sang along on the video with just the camera. You are hearing mostly what was recorded before the video. It's not easy to sing live with yourself. I actually tried that one time and both the video and audio were less than stellar.
Really nice job. Your vocals are excellent. But you need to play with a couple of others. That middle fiddle solo that is missing is key for you to include.

This video only has 194 likes...that's shameful. I've seen people singing and sounding absolute trash and get more views. Come on people do the right thing and hit the like button.

Excellent, but, what I was desperately hoping for was individual section of the harmonies so I could attempt to learn to sing harmony. This was it sounds beautiful but I learn nothing.

@@HomebrewAudioRecording Great, thanks so much. I've always been envious of those who can sing harmony. My brain just can't do anything but the melody, it can't hear the harmony.
