This is why I order from real street, they only sell parts they would use on there own cars, plus even tho they could have made more money out of me but they told me not to bother with some parts as it wouldn't be worth the extra expense.

Currently have the 38mm precision turbo waste and was cool with a manual boost controller but now using a Mac 3 port and it’s hard controlling boost by gear going to have to go with a bigger wastegate maybe a 46mm should help with boost creep
@realstreetperformance5 жыл бұрын
yes boost creep happens when air cannot escape through the wastegate fast enough. moving to a larger wastegate should help. But wastegate placement plays a major role in boost creep as well. Sometimes, even with the biggest wastegate on the market you might still have boost creep because of the location

Question, If I have a current system with a tial 44 mm MVR gate with my dumb tube and exit pipe plumbed back into the exhaust already... And I want to replace the tial mvr with the turbo smart 45 or the precision 46mm. Would it be a direct swap for either of those two? Or are the input and outlet flanges on the turbo smart precision and slightly different locations causing me to have to redo my dump and exit piping?
@mattmorrison69589 ай бұрын
I'm sure 3 years later you found out it doesn't line up the same, but commenting for future reference that they all share different relative flange locations despite being nearly the same flange itself

I have a question, right now I have a PTE5858 with 39mm external wastegate, will I need to upgrade my wastegate to a bigger one if I decide to upgrade my turbo to PTE6466? Or can I use the same 39mm wastegate for the bigger turbo?
@realstreetperformance5 жыл бұрын
when your wastegate is too small, the exhaust gas will not be able to evacuate the path of the turbine fast enough, and the boost will creep higher than your boost controller is trying to limit. It is hard to predict whether you will need a bigger wastegate or not. My gut tells me you will not need it. But, you will be able to tell pretty quickly if the 39mm is too small when the boost starts creeping up past target. If you need to be able to target very low boost numbers with accuracy and precision, a bigger wastegate is going to be safer.
@half_r_mk55 жыл бұрын
@@realstreetperformance thanks! I will use my 39mm and if I noticed a boost creep then I'll upgrade to a bigger wastegate. Thanks for the tip. 👍👍

@@moza1956 If you have a manifold that is flanged for a tial 44, a precision 46mm will bolt right on. And yes it does come with flanges. It really depends on your application rather than just your turbo choice. I can say on my platform we use TiAL 44mm MVRs all the time on 6466s with no issue, but YMMV.

@@neonsrt25 Hey good afternoon! That would be relative to your manifolds construction. most manifold framed for that size turbo typically have one 44 mm or MVR wastegate. If your manifold design is causing boost creep issues, most people will then add in a secondary wastegate and run dual wastegates for better control, or opt out for a larger, single 60mm wastegate with appropriate wastegate placement. Whichever route you decide to go with that fits your application in particular, we carry all different styles , and can help you make up your mind if needed :) Feel free to reach out for all your parts needs, BIG or small at : Pablo@realstreetperformance.com #YourPartsPapi
