Edmund Pettus was a brave officier, fiercly fighting for the continuation of chattel slavery. (also a massacre on union soldiers if a remember correctly) And a big fish in the Klu Klux Klan later. Later he was a Senator (until around 1900, he died in office). The bridge was named after him in 1940 ! - That route was important for the cash crops produced by the slaves and of course transporting the slaves itself.

John Lewis will always be a hero and has left a legacy of what hero's look like. Desperate? Not a chance. Looks at the moms, dad's, grandparents and vets in Portland. Look at the everyday heroes in the halls of our hospitals, rescue teams, police stations, food banks, soup kitchens, and city streets. Look at the thousands of protesters, educators, service employees, and factory workers...the kids giving allowances and earnings, the field workers, farmers, donating farmers, and the factory owners who converted their businesses to make and, for some, give away hand sanitizer, shields etc. I could go on, but you need to understand that all of the above are American Heroes. We're more eager for American value-based leadership from the White House. John Lewis's legacy lives on. He will be missed.

The Almighty Creator took Dr. King before the age of 41 the age of responsibility therefore he was sent to Heaven otherwise he would have been nullified all his work by falling into idol worship and worship a fake name Jesus which you would never find this name in any original scripture especially the Original Bible in Aramaic language. So as Malcolm X who died before the age of 41 otherwise he would have been fall in that so called Islam another religion which is not authorized by the Almighty Creator. But unfortunately John did not make it that was why he had to suffer at the end of his life. The law in the Almighty Creator's system is: "Nothing BAD Happens to you If you follow the Rules of the Almighty Creator, He is the Best Protector". "Anything BAD happens to you is from your own wrong doings". "Anything Good happens to you is from the Almighty Creator."

@@johnedward3404 That was your main mistake. You have been following from the Most Distorted book. Those illiterate preachers changed those verses in order to make you idol worship so they could easily steal your money. There was never ever this fake name Jesus in the original "Bible" in Aramaic language. Those illiterate preachers wrote their own version of "Bible" 200 years after "E-Saw" son of Maryam. There is no history after "E-Saw" son of Maryam for 200 years about him and "Bible". "E-Saw" son of Maryam never did crucified. Just Google them. Thou shall have no other gods before Me. Idolatry is one of Judaism's three "Cardinal Sins" regarding which an individual is required to give up their life rather than violate. According to the Bible: Bible, Romans 1:25 "Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever". Matthew 4:8-10 "'You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.'" 1 Corinthians 10:14 "Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the Lord." Leviticus 19:4 "Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any god: I am the Lord your God. So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that "An idol is nothing at all in the world" and that "There is no God but one." 1 Corinthians 8:4. Isaiah 44:10 "Who take an idol, which can profit nothing? ... Who but a fool would make his own god--an idol that cannot help him one bit? ... Deuteronomy 27:15 "Cursed is anyone who makes an idol--a thing ... "Cursed is anyone who makes an idol--a thing detestable to the LORD, the work of skilled ... 'Cursed is anyone who carves or casts an idol and secretly sets it up..." Ezekiel 23:49 "They will repay you for your obscene conduct, and you will be punished for idol worship. Then you will know that I am the sovereign ..." Zechariah 13:2 "On that day, I will banish the names of the idols ... "And on that day," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, "I will erase idol worship throughout the land, so that even the names of the idols will be forgotten. ..." Psalm 24:4 "... has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by ... Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell ... They will repay you for your obscene conduct, and you will be punished for idol worship. Then you will know that I am the sovereign ..." Zechariah 13:2 "On that day, I will banish the names of the idols ... "And on that day," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, "I will erase idol worship throughout the land, so that even the names of the idols will be forgotten. ..." Now we have the scientifically proven evidence based on mathematics, the exact science to prove these facts in the court of law. Peace
