Yes...So happy but ONLY 15 and 18 years for a death isn't enough it should be a life sentence. This poor man had to die protecting his wife😢, he's a hero and her guardian angel now but this is so wrong. Turned his wife's life 100% upside down. I called animal control several times on 2 dogs a couple of years ago. They did nothing. Couldn't do yard work, enjoy the deck and pool or even walk to the car without major fear. This was 2 different neighbors too. Me and my granddaughter pulled up to the house. I tried to look for one of the pits. We had to follow a routine. Check the area for it. I'd run open the door double check, run get my granddaughter and run to the house or car. It was terrifying. One day we tried to run to the house together. No sign of the pit. As soon as she opened the car door (Luckily slightly) he was there growling. Luckily she got the door shut. I had to call animal control, waited a good half hour in the car. Right before they arrived the owners took their dog in. This dog somehow got into my backyard. It's fenced and locked. Privacy fence except one side. Can a pit jump a chain length fence? Yes!!!😢 neighbor laughed telling me one day she found him in my pool. Granddaughter couldn't go outside without me. We kept several cans of good wasp spray in various areas to grab quickly. Ruined our summer. Neighbors on the next street, their pit mix was taller, he had just been adopted from the shelter. He jumped (I have it on video) 3 fences and growling at my French doors to the deck. Animal control again did nothing. Elderly neighbor beside them had issues also. Had to watch that pit in his yard about to attack him.😢 he somehow was able to inch his way to his backdoor. I'm so sick of living in fear of these dogs.

The defendant (Husband) is a vile disgusting man. After they were found guilty and given their sentences - the victim wife was speaking and he made a look and a breathing motion like “how long is she gonna take?” I don’t know how it works, but I pray they remain in jail all the years. My son has a American Bully. The dog is a dufus..dumb & playful, but it scares the hell out of me too. He's huge! If he ever went into attack mode, he'd do serious damage. People that own these dogs should have to go to classes to own them. Your baby child could and will kill someone if it was in attack mode. Neither showed remorse through the trial. His hand painted sign outside, said who they are how they feel. After hearing the widows' heartbreaking words, there was no remorse. He threw gang signs a few times on his way out. I hope he is checked for affiliations. They fought those dogs. I hope the city loses their lawsuit as well. Their dogs were mistreated, unloved, except to breed. I hope they do every day of their time.

They both should have got 20 years this Judge is good but she messed up this time maybe getting soft with age. This two need to take responsibility they brought these dogs to their community, the country could have did not but who got these dogs not the animal control these fools did. They haven’t taking responsibility but want blame animal control that BS. A man was killed for their irresponsible to their community.

What a horrible death! While jogging, I was recently attacked by an unleashed dog in Pelham Parkway in the Bronx, New York. 311, the park health department and the police told me that city authorities only take action against the dog and the owner when someone dies. Public safety in NYC parks does not seem to be of interest to the city

Much props to the judge! I was not expecting those type of sentences. The defendants got very bad legal advice accepting a plea deal. I would've taken it to trial. This is a good judge, she threw the book at Daniel Garcia. Always have protection on you, you never know when a violent attack will happen. God bless the victim.

99% chance a jury would have convicted them as well. There were too many witnesses who came forward regarding the history with those dogs. This couple even posted a sign on their house spewing profanity at everybody including the police. That alone would have caused a jury to convict. The point of the plea deal was to get the conviction *now* , so the attorney can get to the appellate court sooner.

@BlackFemaleAnd50 I know they were going to be found guilty. If the maximum jail sentence is 20 years and he gets 18 and her 15 under a plea, I would've taken my chances. You have nothing to lose if you are basically getting the same time if you would have been found guilty in trial. Their lawyers were asking for probation. Usually, when you plea out and take responsibility, you get a pretty good deal.

They have had no remorse since the day this started and throughout the trial. They care about no one but themselves. They should of got 20 years for this, but still got good sentences. Whats crazy and sad though they will probably be out on good behavior earlier on parole. Hopefully not.

I notice this couple’s attitudes are different today. Where’s the smirking? She’s looking a nervous today, while he looks a tad nervous. Still putting that attitude out there neither one of them has shown any remorse for the life of the gentleman that their dogs savagely killed..thankfully this judge has gone beyond a slap on the wrist sentence and while a prison sentence won’t bring back this lady’s husband or her trauma not just for the loss of her husband, but for her injuries, she has suffered because of these dogs.

These two looked bothered to be there. I think they made the dogs mean. It’s a thing. That poor woman needs to get her restitution and shave down that kiosk fund. My heart goes out to her. May she find some peace. 💔
