“Kim Kardashian is president and I haven’t aged a bit because I moisturize” 👌🏼👌🏼😂 your personality >> I don’t think Miracle Gro soil is bad in itself. I’ve heard several people say they had gnats in their fresh opened bags though. I just know that their fertilizers at least are bad for worms and microbial activity in the soil because of their synthetic sources for nitrates. I gardened organically for the noms before I started caring for houseplants and just ended up treating them the same as I do my edible plants and herbs. But if it works for you and you’re container growing, I don’t see what the harm in using that soil would be 🤷🏻‍♀️ Everyone has different mixes that suit their environment, humidity, watering tendencies, etc better and your plants look pretty happy to me!

I don’t like organic materials in my house because they tend to smell, and pots are too small to support worms and ecosystems for the most part. To each their own 💚

I bought a M.adonsonii as a single leaf and it has 5 now - looking forward to creating a bushy basket when it grows up a bit more ❤ I was given a single M.standleyana leaf cutting and it's got a fourth leaf coming. A wish list plant would be Thai Constellation but I'd need a bigger house! We don't do a Christmas Tree as we don't have the floor space. (Instead, we have a Christmas Ladder ceiling mounted in the living room and Christmas Garden Bamboo Stake ceiling mounted above the kitchen bench 😁)

I do believe tomorrow I will move my cebu blue cuttings from water where they are not rooting to sphagnum moss in a bag like yours! They have been very reluctant to root in water. I want to make a small full pot for a friend. As far as a favorite, I'm currently obsessed with monstera siltepecana. I've been stalking the big box stores because some people have been able to purchase huge hanging baskets and I need one!

I got 3 Peru cuttings from a well known KZbinr. 1 was beautiful & healthy. 2 arrived looking pretty bad, very thin leaves, one nearly black & had scale. The other was bent at the petiole w/ a big tear in the leaf. It was not shipping damage/stress. He sent me unhealthy cuttings. The good leaf rooted out nicely in sphag and is in soil producing a new leaf. The other 2, I’ve watched slowly die over the past 2+ months. The leaves are now 90% black & crispy, no root development whatsoever. He’s been absolutely no help when I asked for guidance. The nodes haven’t rotted yet. So I guess I’ll give them more time. It was my first time buying cuttings & my first real wishlist plant, pretty disappointing

This was very helpful, thanks! I have a tiny pot of Cebu Blue from two cuttings with one node each that I got in July for an absurd amount of money per cutting. I just like the look of this plant so much that I couldn't resist. It's slogging along; I gave it a tiny moss pole made from a skewer to climb and it seems to like that, but I want a full, lush plant so much! If the price for cuttings of it goes down next year, I'm going to follow your method and make myself the pothos I deserve.

Do you have to put the rooted stems in the cells? Would they not make it if you put them directly in the hanging pot soil?

I am a greenhorn when it comes to gardening ... just 5 months in. I have learned that there’s a better way (well,technical way)to say “ holes on leaves “ FENESTRATION.

Lots of great info, I learned a lot from you. Love your personality and enjoyed your sense of humor. I noticed those clear glass jars with pothos cutting behind your desk. Could you please tell me how you hung them on the wall? Loved that idea! Thx🍃🌷❤️

I found a leave of a marble queen pothos on the ground in a store. I am currently trying to propagate it (it does have a little root nub but not sure if it has a node) not sure if it'll work
@phytosexual
@phytosexual 2 жыл бұрын
If there is a nub there should be a node since they don't send roots out of their petioles.

Do you do wet the cuttings while they're in the moss and ziplock? Do you give them sunlight (how much) while they're in the clear top container? How often do you water them once they're out of the moss?
@phytosexual
@phytosexual 4 жыл бұрын
If they’re in a sealed environment, no need to add water. No direct sunlight, just indirect. It depends on your environment when you water.
