Andy was my favorite and btw don't be fooled by Barry he was not on good terms with Andy when he died. People were always comparing Andy to Barry and Andy didn't want to live in Barry's shadow i understand i live in my sister's shadow so i get why he distanced himself from his brother's. I really CAN NOT STAND people who spout off at the mouth when they have no idea about what they are talking about. My older cousin introduced me to great music from a young age. I was about 10 yrs old when she bought Andy's new single "I just want to be your everything" & she had me come over to hear it. She played it over & over on a constant loop, until we both had the lyrics memorized. I just turned 55 on Tuesday (Apr 5) & I still know every word of that song & "Shadow Dancing". Those two songs have been burned into my long term memory, so I'll still be able to sing it verbatim when I'm in my 80's or 90's... if my body lasts that long - LOL! I'm so glad more people are starting to discover the music of the "baby Bee Gee" brother. Even though Andy was 12 years younger than Barry (the oldest), they could have been twins. They share very similar facial features & vocal sound. Barry & Andy looked more like twins than the actual fraternal twins, Robin & Maurice did - LOL! Andy is the baby of the family & he was still little when his older brothers hit it big on the music charts back in the 1960's. With the help of his brothers, Andy embarked upon a solo career, which he was very successful at, even in the short amount of time he created music. He put out a few albums, appeared on many TV shows, & also hosted a variety show called SOLID GOLD that did weekly countdowns of the most popular songs of the time. On occasion, he joined The Bee Gees while on their concert tours or TV specials. Sadly, he died just a few days past his 30th birthday (1988) from a heart condition, which was greatly exacerbated by years of alcohol & drug use. He was the youngest, but the first to pass away. Then twin #1 Maurice died in 2003, followed by the other twin, Robin in 2012. Barry, the oldest boy and his sister, Leslie (first born) are the last two surviving Gibb siblings left...

This may be an example of someone taking video from a live performance and mixing it with the official audio. Andy sang and played 5 or 6 songs live on Don Kershner’s Rock Show in 1977. Absolute PERFECTION!!! I highly recommend reacting to all of them.

Andy Gibb was just as talented as his three brothers (and big sister...) - we have their musical parents to thank for that. Andy (in spite of being the youngest, and 12 years younger than Barry...) was in a way "Barry's twin brother" musically. When he collapsed (in Robin's house, in England...) he'd had a clean bill of health for a long time. However, his longtime heart condition (myocarditis - inflammation of the heart muscle...), and his past drug use ended up being a lethal combination. We lost a beautiful (and talented...) soul way too soon...

Back in the day Andy Gibb was truly a teen heartthrob every girl in the world had posters of Andy Gibb on their wall you going to a black teenage girls house there was Andy Gibb you go into a white teenage girls house there was Andy Gibb on the wall you go into a Latina home there was Andy Gibb on the wall he was very talented in his own right actually there was one time his record was number one on the charts and the Bee Gees Stayin Alive was number two there are quite a few videos of him performing including one of him performing with his brothers he was a lot younger than the others which is why he was not in the Bee Gees the other brothers were born in the 1940 time he wasn't born until 1958 yes that was his brothers in the background actually if you look at the credits Andy Maurice Robin and Barry are listed as the writers of the song in the 1970s around the time of Saturday Night Fever to which the Bee Gees wrote songs for the soundtrack Andy was hot in his solo career they dominated the music charts I remember like it was yesterday everyone's prom Play Bee Gees Bee Gees Bee Gees and of course Andy Andy Andy we talk real talent here there was no waste boxes Auto-Tune and they played instruments play more of their live performances me and my girlfriend were teenagers at the time we went to the movies to see Saturday Night Fever three times but at least three albums or records just in case the first one got scratched from playing it too much fantastic Journey rip Andy

Dear Chad, greetings from Australia. Thank you so much for rekindling my admiration and love for the Bee Gees. I am nearly 80, and was into the boys when they were just kids who went overseas. I got sidetracked with four kids, a career and community work and now well into my retirement, despite 7 grandchildren, love the time I now have for this musical revival. Love you Chad. Who knew back then the history,the beautiful songs, the talent...looking forward to more please.

Written by Barry, produced by Bee Gees. They wrote this ,Tragedy and Too much Heaven in the same day...all number 1s. He is a younger Barry...Barry said they even had the same birth mark. The Bee Gees back him up alot. And after he died they played his video and sing with him. Beautiful. Andy's got that jaw line😍 Sad he was left too himself so young and the fame got him. I just stumbled across this, and I couldn't help wondering what might have been if this amazing young man had not burned himself up at the age of 30. Shortly before he died, his brothers announced that he would be joining the BeeGees. And his death really tore up his brothers; I'm not sure they ever really got over it. Maybe it was because Andy was just a couple of months older than me.

It is my understanding that the Bee Gees, some or all of them, sang backup on this song. Obviously there are no singers or musicians on stage with Andy so it's a recording being played. That said... Andy "may" have been lipsycing to the recorded track or he was singing his part live with the recording. Either could have been the case I suppose.

The Bee Gees did sing background for the album. Andy was very talented. A shame he was lost so young. And the tech and lighting has hurt, not helped I think. You don't hear the real talented people and the lighting shows are a distraction from the performance. Plus, many people with health issues that are irritated by flashing bright lights, epilepsy for one, can't go to concerts because of the lighting

Come on, guys. If you didn’t see it come out of one of the Gibbs’ mouths, it probably isn’t true. Andy’s drug and alcohol problems were documented at least as early as 1976 or 77. The Gibbs denounced a lot of what the tabloids printed, and I’ve seen them say in interviews that they didn’t blame her. They had reservations about the age difference.... and the Cali lifestyle.... and were concerned about Andy’s behavior.... but did not blame her for leaving, or for his death. Just my opinion.....

Barry eventually tried a TOUGH LOVE APPROACH to try and save him.....but that didn't work either. Barry is haunted by the loss of his baby brother....and why he couldn't save him....!!??

I do believe this was on tv. I think he was singing to a prerecorded soundtrack where his brothers were the background vocals. This song was a smashing hit when it came out. Plus, the lighting here is purposely placed so that you cannot see Andy’s signature hip action. Def not G rated. Andy does sing Barry’s song “Words” live at the Kennedy Center. It is on KZbin. Andy is sporting a beard and looks like a young Barry.

I have to correct people; Andy was the composer of the song along with the 3 Brothers, meaning he wrote the song in addition to the input of Mo, Rob, & Barry. All 3 Brothers DID NOT do background vocals here. I have to give credit where it is due: studio version consisted of Andy of course on lead, also doing background, Barry doing background & harmony ... & Johnne "John" Sambataro was also on background & harmony, & a great musician!
