Best thing you can do is drive you car till the wheels fall off, then have someone put them back on and keep driving it! Any newer car will really hurt your finances. Taxes are more, insurance is more, car payments etc...Then you worry about getting a scratch or getting it dirty etc lol. It's very tempting to want to get a fancy new car and show off, but unless you are doing great financially, resist that temptation. It's only new for a short time, then it's just a car. Put that money in a CD and make 5% on it, instead of paying 9%+ and having a high depreciating asset.

All things considering it’s nice to see progress on supply for cars is going up. But I really do hope there starts becoming more focus on public transit being better and reliable here in the US than just depending on cars only.

I suppose this should motivate EV owners to purchase tires from service centers that provide free replacements for tires that don't make it to the full warranty mileage.

I’m not saying that anyone should buy a car because they’re outrageously expensive but don’t settle for the dealer trying to tell you they are doing you a favor I got offered 39,000 for my trade-in and MSRP for the purchase. I ended up with 5000 off MSRP and 44500 for my trade. That’s almost 10k lower than what was their “best price”

It's normal that Toyota has the lowest inventory, they invented JIT (just in time production) so they avoid inventory as much as they can. Of course they're the first to get hit if there's a shortage, like when covid happened :D

They're gonna need to give some nice incentives soon. When you look at the record numbers of autoloan defaults and then look at the people who are negative. I don't see a huge pool of people with the $$ to afford a new car. The cost of everything just continues to climb. We used to buy a new vehicle every couple of years. Not anymore. Honestly, even if they offered some stupid incentives, I'm not buying anything right now. I'm no expert, but I've been around and it's pretty damn obvious what's going to happen soon to the world economy. I'll see what happens with the upcoming election before I take on any debt.
