What is the best bait for fishing at a mussel farm? In this video we are going to find out. We initially thought mussels are the top bait. We collected and prepared some green-lipped mussels the day before fishing. Those are the same mussels that grow at the mussel farm. The old theory of 'match the hatch'
surely must work at a mussel farm, right?
Let's see if the mussels will outperform fishing with lures. We are fishing from a kayak and a paddleboard in this video.

Good video. I do this. I put then in the microwave till the shells open a bit. Then I salt them and leave them in the sun. Don't need any string. I use a single hook and no sinker, let them sink naturally with the reel in free spool. Wait till the line starts peeling off. count to three and flick the bail arm over.

Yeah, I love fishing with mussels, eh. Especially land-based. But from a kayak it's definitely easier with lures.

@@walkintomydream7208 Malta is a small island, for fishing is limited as we have many people, I would suggest offshore more than inshore fishing.
