How's she goin'? Some great info here Doug!!! The main take away for me on all this is 'be prepared'!!! Sounds like you had lots of 'plan B' plans made and that's smart back country preparedness!!! Way to go. Sure looks like a trip to remember brother!! Thanks for sharing and take care!!!

Hey Mike! Planning and preparation is key to any backcountry trip especially these days when we are so reliant on the ease of having a cell phone at our disposal but when there is no signal things change. Thanks for watching brother! 👍🏻👊🏻

Good info about taking a big trip like that. This trip reminded me of when I canoed the boundary waters between Minnesota and Canada. We did not encounter water as challenging though. We did have to portage quite a bit, which is not fun at all.
@PinetreeLine3 жыл бұрын
The Boundary are famous. We have many government parks in Ontario and they present the same issue, lots of portages. Thanks for watching Brother! 👊🏻👍🏻

Awesome video of my favorite river in Ontario! I've been paddling the Spanish yearly for well over a decade. You have to go back and do the elbow to Agnew lake (in higher water levels). There are some mandatory short portages, but the Royal Ride is the best part.
@PinetreeLine3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much!! I can see why you make this a yearly trip and yes the plan is to go back at some point when the water is at normal levels and go through to Agnew. I will keep the Royal Ride in mind. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! 👍🏻👊🏻

Great info Doug. It's memories you can't buy. Also the camera never does things justice like the size of the rocks and rapids. I didn't realise you hired the boats, they certainly took a besting. Cheers 👍🍻

On a trip like this it’s a huge advantage renting the canoes that are made for this type of abuse Stevie. When things go sideways is when you create the memories. Appreciate you watching brother! 👍🏻👊🏻

Hi Doug. Good information. We have several canoe outfitters, not that far from us. The prices, including the train really didn't sound to outrageous. To bad the water wasn't a little deeper. Take care brother 🇺🇸🤝🇨🇦

I hear the ride down the Ottawa River is wild too. I think they use zodiac's. How were the flies Doug ?

There are some crazy white water opportunities in Ontario and Ottawa has some of them. The flies weren’t too bad, bearable until about 10pm, their supper time 😂

Awesome info video Doug. Makes me want to go do this trip. I was supposed to do it a few years back, the winter we were planning the trip, 3 trains derailed up near the watershed.. oil leaked all over the place... looks like a wicked canoe trip though

🤔 can you flag down a train?interesting. Seems like a rough float
@PinetreeLine3 жыл бұрын
Hi Leah…in this case you can flag down the train because it’s a short 10 or so car passenger train that can stop fairly quickly. Definitely a rough float 😂. You and Tracy will enjoy it someday? 🤔
