The problem is that Glock told everyone that their G44 was gonna be THE best .22LR pistol on the market and they talk about how it was tested for YEARS before they released it because they wanted a gun that worked with ALL types of .22LR ammo, cheap and expensive! I put over 200 through mine last Friday, not a single malfunction other than one cartridge required a second strike (which is on-par with any of my other 22 experiences). I fed it 40gr LRN Federal automatch from the 325 box, which my Ruger MK3 also enjoys eating. The G44 is a hoot, it is so light it actually has a bit of snap, which is hillariously fun.

I purchased 2 G44's, took them to the range Saturday, I also purchased a box of Winchester 333 HP at the same time. I spent more time clearing jams, miss fires, stovepipes than I did shooting the pistols. One for my wife and one for my daughter. Needless to say I was VERY upset. After we ran out of the 333's I tried some CCI mini mags that were in my safe for at least 25 years. out of 115 of those I only had 1 misfire. Goes to show, these can be a good pistol with the right ammo. Can't wait to try them again....

This COVID year of Dec 2020 you can hardly find a .22 semi auto at the stores. Finally a week before Christmas I had the opportunity at 2 different stores to score a Glock 44 or a Beretta M9 .22 I chose the Beretta for several reasons, the 15+1 capacity with a steel mag, s/d action and the 5” barrel. The only reason I have this and my Ruger Mark lll is to shoot affordably. But I also wanted something like my Ruger that would eat any ammo from bulk on up with accuracy and dependability. Very happy with my purchase, glad I chose Beretta.

At over 2000 rounds, my G44 will only function reliably with CCI mini mags (but will not slide lock with them). It will not function with Federal 36 gr, 38 gr, 40 gr., Remington 36 gr golden, or Winchester 36 grain. Glock customer service tells me to keep shooting and it will loosen up. This is June 2024 and I own the Glock 44 and the Taurus TX22 and I would highly recommend the Taurus TX22 over the Glock. The Taurus comes with 16 round magazines and the Glock has only 10 round magazines. The Glock is ammo sensitive and the Taurus will shoot any 22 lr ammo. Now I have five round extensions on both pistols so I get 16 rounds in the Glock mags and 21 rounds in the Taurus. Cheaper and better, spend your money wisely.

That can NOT be true. If you watch the video closely of the guy shooting when the gun blows up, you can hear the round that you are calling a "squib round" impact the target when it was fired. Squibs typically do not impact targets lol. I love glock too man, but dont make sh*t up because you do not like the results. These guns were not ready for release. I challenge you to find a positive review of a Glock 44. Its just not a good gun. And I love guns! I have seen at least 10 different people review it and they all said it was released prematurely. One more thing. Glock claims to have tested the pistol with "141 different ammos, shooting over 10,000 with not a single failure". Which is obviously a load of crap. But my point is that they claim it will run with ANY AMMO.

I personally hate the Gen-4 Glocks. Ever since they screwed with the grip angle I can't shoot the new Glocks worth a crap. I always have to push the muzzle down when I aim with them. I'm all about the Gen-3's I have the 19 23 32 and 20 all Gen-3's and I love them. They eat anything you want to put through them. I just picked up the new Glock G44 and put a Hogue grip on it (which I have on all my Glocks) and I still have to push the muzzle down a little but it's way better than the Gen-4. I've only put 2 mags through it so far and the first worked great with the cheap Remington 36 grain Golden Bullets but the second not so much. I think a lot of it was the fact I loaded them while sitting in my car on a gravel road in the country and the first I was pulling the sides down just enough to put one bullet in at a time. The second mag I was in more of a hurry and I pulled it down further and some bullets got messed up as in not seating correctly. I tried to fix the ones that didn't seat correctly by taking them out and putting them back in right but I don't think I got them all so I'm not going to say it was the guns fault until I put a lot more rounds through it. Oh and I have the 43 with a Hogue grip and Strike Industries +2 mag extensions on both mags and that one I don't have to push the muzzle down. I have had very few issues with any of these besides the G44. I hope after more rounds and making sure to load the mags correctly it will turn out to be a good gun as well.

I've heard of the Glock 44, but I have no experience with it. I love the 22LR caliber. It is a fun plinker. I have a 22LR top for my Beretta 92A1. It's made by Umerex for Beretta. It's a fun adaptor. Special 22LR magazines are required for that. The slide is straight up aluminum. It makes my 92A1 a two caliber gun with a very simple slide swap. If 22 TCM catches on, it would be interesting to have a slide and barrel for that as well. The two downsides for the 22LR conversion, IMO, are the cost and the quality of the safety. I have a G type conversion safety on my 92A1 which is decock only and nice steel. The 22LR is a decocker/safety and is stamped. So there is a slight difference in user operation there.

Glock spent 3 years before they released it. They had test guns that they shot a thousand rounds through every day for 3 years straight from temperatures ranging from -50° Celsius to plus 50° Celsius in 95% humidity with hardly any failures. Part of what's going on is in Europe the 22 cartridge is considered way more of a real cartridge than the way it's looked at in the US and when you buy 22 long rifle ammo from some of the European providers of ammo you don't get products like those Remington Goldies where there's just like 350 rounds chucked into a cardboard box. I have a Glock 44 that runs great it's got a marksman class Barrel it even has a fluted chamber to help it run more reliably Glock spent 3 years of research and development before they even release the gun. As you know Glock numbers their guns based on the patent number as opposed to the caliber or when the gun was released so that's why the Glock 45 and others with more recent patent numbers were coming out before the 44 the reason of that is because they kept the 44 from being released until they really really really really researched and tried to get the gun as reliable as possible. I suggest you go watch the review James does on tfb Channel and he even goes to Austria and talks to the engineers in one of three videos that are about the Glock 44. I think when you understand all the research and development that went into it you might appreciate the gun more now bottom line is is it going to be reliable and is it going to function and is it not going to blow up in your hand like some of the videos out there show and the one you showed earlier in this video of yours where it shows the gun blowing the extractor out of the side of the slide and cracking it right there in the guy's hands I'm sure that was scary as hell. But I've got to ask what kind of ammo was that was he running a homemade or self loaded ammo or what because 22 rounds in general are sketchy cartridges relative to most Center fire ammo so I don't care what 22 you're using if it's the Beretta or if it's the Taurus tx22 or whatever there's going to be reliability issues just because the type of ammo especially if you're using cheap Remington ammo. Also speaking of Taurus tx22 they're getting mad recalls from barrels that are just horrible they've got a big problem Taurus does with their tx22. There was a review out there by somebody where he could not get the gun to not Keyhole because the bullets were leaving the barrel with strange energies imparted upon the bullet that caused them to want to Keyhole and hit sideways and Tumble and I don't know why that's happening with Taurus barrels in their 22 but it is something that is going on which if I've got a 22 that has a feeding issue okay I'm going to look to the magazine of the ammo but if I've got a 22 where it's key hauling every shot that comes out of the gun then I've got to look deeper into what's happening it's not going to be just because of the ammo. But anyway I just wanted to throw that out there you were talking about newer gun companies weren't doing their due diligence and researching before releasing guns and first generation releases are always terrible well despite how the Glock 44 pans out over time I can't predict but if you look into the info about that gun and what Glock did to develop it they definitely did not slouch around they held that guns release for over 3 years until they got what they thought was all the Kinks were worked out obviously they weren't all worked out because with some ammo the gun is not reliable. Having said that I do own a Glock 44 like I mentioned above and long as you use reasonable ammo like aguilaria or Winchester Federal CCI Blazer Mini Mags stuff like that I don't have any problems and there is a magazine made by ProMag that holds 18 rounds Plus One in the Chamber so the Glock can actually hold as many rounds as any other 22 Handgun maker that exists at present. Now the Pro Mag product I must add this caveat that it's not really the best thing to try to fit 18 in that magazine because then it has its own feeding issues that crop up but it can hold 15 or 16 rounds very easily and reliably and that puts you in the range of having 15 + 1 or 16 + 1 in that gun and the ProMag magazine does not hang out the bottom of the gun it's the same size it fits entirely in the grip. It's maybe an eighth of an inch longer than the stock magazine but you can hardly tell the difference from it being in the gun versus the stock magazine and they're only like $18 from ProMag. So you have a cheap option to get more capacity with about the same reliability at least in my experience. But I have not had nearly the negative issues that I've been seeing on these various reviews. I paid about $380 for mine from Sportsman's Warehouse in 2021 and I've been very happy with mine except I hate the trigger and in fact I hate all stock Glock triggers they all suck so I will upgrade my trigger eventually here but so far I've just been dealing with pretty much the gun as it came that is other than the larger magazine I haven't really done anything to the gun but mine Shoots Great my only other complaint would be that it's a dirty gun because it's straight blowback and is not a lot to breach you end up getting a lot of gas and crap coming out the chamber side between rounds and it just dirties up the gun like crazy being a polygonal Barrel it's really easy to clean and with the fluted chamber that also helps it clean easy but as far as the other parts of the gun it quickly gets filled with debris and unburnt powder and soot whereas I've got a Walther PDP that is almost the cleanest gun I've ever had you really hardly need to do anything to clean it it's really well designed I think my PDP is probably my new favorite handgun for the time being. If Money Was No Object I would get a brno PSD chambered and 7.5 mm and never buy another pistol again in my life LOL

Ammo causing the goin to blow up??? What like the ammo is loaded too hot? How could you know that?
@victorraye574 жыл бұрын
@@SourPatchPuss It just a typical guess, when the slider of gun blows up, typically it would be the pressure of the round.
@usarmyfl14 жыл бұрын
@@victorraye57 I think he said the gun was able to fire out of battery, which caused the explosion. Gun's fault if it is firing out of battery.

Gotcha... That would do it, out side of the barrel.

My Salvation. 100% the problem is 22 ammo!

Got early model not glock fan. I like it a lot. Forest gump style lol. I’m a firearms fan. Anyway think it’s loading ammo problem. When loaded with bullet pointing up in mag works great put ammo in fast pointing straight or down not good. Problems. My thoughts.

The .22 TCM is such a sweet concept. When I was into 1911s, I wanted to get a double stack 9mm conversion from Rock Island. I'd like to see how it stacks up against a 5.7 (Gel test video, anyone? 😊)

Taurus, makes there first 22 handgun in America, only issue - choosing the wrong company to make there barrels. Glock makes G44 in Austria with a Plastic Slide, gun blows up in people's hands. #LawsuitCity #BuyAmerican

Bottom line. Glock said it would eat any ammo you put it in. That includes bulk ammo.

M&p 22 compact best 22 pistol out there going on 2000 rounds likes to gobble up cheap 22 ammo and pretty accurat at 30 feet.
@Larry--qn4dd4 жыл бұрын
Had no problems with mine. As far as that g44 exploding, what ammo was he using ? My guess is stingers , way over powered for semi auto pistols, they should only be fired in bolt guns or heavy revolvers, all my m&p 22 rifle and hand guns specificly warn against the use of that type of ammo, they say it will damage you guns. I blame that on the ammo manufacture, for not warning people .

@Larry--qn4dd4 жыл бұрын
@@Allen-Cote-St.-Luc could have fired out of battery, or overloaded factory load. Saw the same thing happen on a tx22. One round stopped in the barrel and next round blew out the back. I have had no issues with my g44, 400 rounds in.

For the sake of crazy arguments, can someone who has had good to great luck with theirs, best ammo? I understand what Glock recommends, that’s not what I’m asking. Thanks in advance- I have about every cci- and currently- Aguila super extra 40 grain and American Eagle 36 grain hp’s - shooting a buddies new one this Friday.

17 or 19 good to go, anything else, glock has not impressed me. I do like that conversion. that slide blowing up could be due to the way the ammo point nose down sometimes in the magazine you gotta pay attention to that when loading the mags

I haven’t had issues with mine so far. Although , I don’t use you slide release to load the gun, I slingshot the slide. No failures to feed, no failures to fire. Was using three different types of ammo, all 40 grain. In 3 hundred rounds no issues. In my opinion it’s a mag issue, as with many 22s. Those that had the extractor blowing out the side, I’m not sure but I’d say firing out of battery. Not good. I shall see as I put more rounds through.

The picture at 1:57 is one of two pictures on the internet of a cracked slide. The video at 2:10 has a photo connected to it, not shown in the video (the image shown at the end of said video is a different gun, where the extractor / firing pin safety plunger had been installed backwards by either the owner or factory). The photo relating to this video, that is not shown, shows the rim of the cartridge had split off and blocked the barrel. The remainder of the brass was still in the chamber. Ammo issue. Look at the smoke ffs! Rimfire is a old and not well designed round. There are many manufacturers who do not have good QC on .22LR. .22TCM is a 9mm (centre fire) case with a .22 bullet. A different kettle of fish entirely. I would like that barrel for a different reason & a totally different cost. Get a G44. They are reliable 99.9% by sales and they are a hoot to shoot! Just need a higher capacity magazine, which I am sure will follow soon.

NO problems with my G44. HOWEVER I did not take the pistol out of the box and go straight to the range to shoot. I field striped it, cleaned and lubricated it then manually operated the slide MANY times. So by the time I went to the range it had been subjected to a pseudo breaking it process. Whether or not that pseudo breaking-in process had anything to do with the smoothness with which it performed is something I cannot say for sure. Anyone that knows anything about manufacturing processes SHOULD know that in a manufacturing plant some of its products will not function as they should. When someone is cranking out thousands of units at a time some of those units WILL NOT OPERATE as they should. That includes high dollar items. Anyone ever hear of an expensive auto that turned out to be a LEMON? More importantly is how the manufacturer provides GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER THE SALE.
