Hi Aaron 🖐️.. it's the Buddy 50 guy from Connecticut.. well my customer sold me his Yamaha vino 125 tonight it's got 4,000 miles and is in fantastic condition.. he sold it to me for $1,000 which is a great deal! Driving it 15 mi home I was so impressed! I had it up to 55 mph on level road...60 downhill.. the scooter ride so smooth and so comfortable.. it feels more like riding a motorcycle than a scooter! .. I purchased it so I could ride longer distance upstate Connecticut.. light it up to some of the fairs this summer in fall.. I'll be able to take it a lot more places than my buddy 50 because it climbs hills much better.. the suspension is fantastic absorbs a lot of the bumps very smooth ride... It doesn't corner like my buddy 50 as I drive that like a sport bike leaning all the way over.. but it makes up for that with its smooth suspension and ride... I'm keeping the Buddy 50 for local riding and using the vino for long distance upstate Connecticut... Thanks for the great video and all your help with my phone calls to you 👍❤️🙏

Absolutely love the Vino 125. My wife and I both have one. My 2007 does 53 mph and accelerates well, my wife’s 2009 accelerates well and has a top end of 47 mph. They’re both stock and very reliable. I watch a lot of your videos and really value your reviews and opinions. Love the sidecar you have.

Thanks Leonard! Have you had the belts replaced on either of your vinos?
@leonardlaing67333 жыл бұрын
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx Both have had new belts. I did the 2007 and the 2009 was done at a dealership before we bought it. Both vinos are under 4000 miles. Happy New Year.

Me finding this video came just in time. I found a 2005 Vino but I was concerned it would be too slow for my commute. Thank you Dr. Slider.

my vino dr pully variator blew up on me and spun and striped the teeth off my crankshaft, stick to OEM parts if you can and tune what you have just some 11 gram roller weights mad a big improvement to my ride still waiting on parts money to put it back together

I disagree with the Yamaha vino being just an average scooter even stock... I bought mine with 4,000 miles from a customer of mine it's a 2004 Yamaha vino and when I twist the throttle the front wheel comes off the ground!! Plenty of torque top end on level ground via GPS is 55 mph which I think is fantastic for a 125 especially one that's heavy

I did the ncy full cvt kit ncy exhaust sliders of multiple weights and 63 miles an hour on a great day

Curious the ncy exhaust pipe most likely non catalytic what was involved in switching the stock for the ncy pipe ? ..

I love my Yamaha vino 125 I just picked it up from my customer for $1,000... It's garaged and well maintained.. came with a windshield which is fantastic... I can do 55 on level ground via GPS..(57 indicated on Speedo).. 60 to 65 down big hill! The scooter ride so smooth feels like you're riding a larger motorcycle! ..

I’ve build one with a 1500rpm torque spring for the rear pulley, 10 and 11 grams rollers staggered, 115 main jet and pod air filter, it does 65mph in any slightly slope down and 60+ on flat. I’m 6’ and 230lbs. It was night and day difference

Any pros/cons of going lighter on the sliders? I realized they offer several weight options.

I owned a 2009 Yamaha Vino 125 since new. Mine would run top speed of 63 mph. I had 11,468 miles which I just traded for a 2022 Honda ADV 150. Only thing I miss is the step Thu. 🤔
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx3 жыл бұрын
We have a customer with the adv, he loves it. Is it significantly faster/quicker then your vino is it?
@danieltaylor97612 жыл бұрын
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx It makes me wonder what bobble head designs scooters. I live in Florida. A lot of retirees love the step through because they can easily put their arthritic feet down and they don't have to hike a leg over the Vino 125 like the ADV. The designers simply dont know the blessing of the step-through or how painful hiking a leg over the middle is. What bullshit they don't know this critical design is so important.

I recently picked up an 04 Vino with 4,800 miles for 200$. Its been sitting for a few years at least. Tank was rusty bad and carb full of that green goo they get after a long time, petcock saved the carb from the water in the tank luckly. Engine seems to run fine but it only goes 43mph, havent checked the CVT yet and was thinking maybe the belt or rollers are worn and not able to go all the way up the pulley.
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx3 жыл бұрын
Tire pressure will also slow your scoot down. But I’d be willing to bet something is tired in your CVT

I live in a hilly area. Does this improve the climbing capability? I’m 200 pounds and the bike seems to climb at 30mph stock. I was hoping for 40ish.

Hello I have 2009 yamaha zuma. I'm looking to do the Dr pulley sliders. And tst hyperbolic variator did you mix the sliders with rollers or just fill it completely with sliders. Also did you mix with with different gram weights?
@Renaissance_cycles2 жыл бұрын
You can stagger roller weights, 3 & 3, on every other slot but mixing rollers & sliders doesn’t make sense. TST variator has a slow & fast ramp already sending weights at different speeds. Get the TST kit from RC scooters, it comes with a 1200rpm contra spring that will help a lot
@francoisl76632 жыл бұрын
That's weird. I weigh 180 and hit 50-55 on flat stock. 60+ downhill. At least I think it's stock. Bought it with 800miles.
@ronsteitz45353 жыл бұрын
You should have left the stock clutch on this scooter. Mine went faster after I bought the full size stock Windscreen. And I am 220 lbs. 5’10”. Only parts I ever bought was air filter and 2 rear tires.👍😀
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx3 жыл бұрын
We did leave the stock clutch, we replaced the variator with a dr pulley performance mod the roller weights we swapped for sliders While we did lose some top speed we gained acceleration, which is what we were primarily after

I own a 2006 Yamaha Vivo 125 for 2 years, was getting up to 59 mph. Had the belt changed and now top speed ia under 45 mph. Is this bike belt pacific or something else. Considering Dr. Pulley Variator with new weights (12g). Ordered a Yamaha 5NW-E7641-00 cvt belt. Fingers crossed to get it back to 59mph or +. Any suggestions?
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx3 жыл бұрын
Have you checked your current roller weights?
@middlesiderrider2 жыл бұрын
Did the top speed drop immediately with the belt change? If so, it's because your new belt is different in some way. Even if it's listed as the same size, different brands will measure differently. So your new belt may be longer, which causes it to not drop down as far in the rear pulley, lowering your top speed. If the belt is wider the same thing can happen if it's too wide to drop between the sheaves.
