Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

This is how I got ahead. Even as a millionaire, I didn't buy a new vehicle. My grandfather was a millionaire, and he drove his super old truck to all his business and had a brand new truck tucked to the side as his home. I remember asking him why bot drive the new truck, he said because my workers are humble, I'm humble and they see me drive in my old truck and they're open to me. They don't fear telling me when something needs to be changed or a better way. Driving in a new truck would change that.

Holy heck Alex. For anyone who has stumbled across this video, congratulations. Alex has just given you the most practical and best “change your future” advice ever. I could have used this when I was 21, 8 years ago. Luckily for me, I figured all of this out as I went, while making the right connections. But what Alex said is the blueprint! The REAL blueprint. And I only did half as much as he said. Do exactly what Alex said, and I’d bet anyone would be on the other side of their situation in 3-6 months. In 3-5 years, you won’t even be recognizable. Excellent stuff Alex! Kids these days are truly bless with this easy to obtain knowledge 😂

@@papagoose8067 The answer to that question really varies depending on the person. For me it's pretty simple. I just pursue what I love to do. What give me excitement and fullfilment. Pro-tip for interviews: Say your main motivator is money (say something like “I want to learn more about x industry, but honestly, I want to make as much money as possible”.) That first tip cutting costs makes such a HUGE difference. I went from living semi-comfortably paycheck to paycheck in a 2 bed apartment, moved in with an older couple whose kids are out of the house and already having their own kids. I got my own room, which is enough. I got my own bathroom, which is more than I need. Ontop of that, I no longer have a car, instead I ride a $100 bike to a job that is close enough I can cut that expense of a vehicle out of my budget almost entirely (still have to buy inner tubes every once in a while). With the money I'm saving this way, I have literally 1/3 of my cash flow as "free money" that I have been saving, investing, and putting into the things I need to start my own business or fuel my success. I can't emphasize enough that if your main stress in life is making ends meet, there's probably a way you can live a bit less comfortably but find even more comfort from being financially stable. Not having netflix, or youtube music, or a new pair of shoes, none of this matters to me when I'm sitting in a park in some of my thinking/brainstorming time and I don't have to even think about how to pay rent for one second. Being less comfortable is something you can get used to, and if that buys you the ability to think clearly about what you can do to achieve greater success then the value you get from the cheaper options is immeasurable.

However, I ended up getting two jobs, both minimum wage, moving in with family and then working on developing my skills and then applying to better jobs. Today, my one job pays more than double what I made from BOTH jobs and my side business pays me more than what I made from one of those jobs. For that bro! I just watched the video, and I have to say, it hit home. Your determination is inspiring. I know things seem tough right now, but remember, this is just a season. You have the power to turn things around. Cutting costs and increasing income are solid strategies. Remember, every rejection is just a step closer to a 'yes'. Stay focused and keep pushing forward. We're all rooting for you!

Alex, I hope to do business with you someday because I just love that you let your hair do what it wants and dress simple in your own company’s clothing. I feel like you’re a real person. Thanks for all the help and motivation, bro!!

I'm so inspired by you and your wife. I'm a sixty two year old ADHD female, I drive a taxi. I work between 72 to 84 hours a week. I have a great boss. When i first went to work for him I worked 172 days straight without an off day.... just prove to him, What i'm about. Long back story I won't get into but here's the plan.... I want a KZbin channel, (and to be an air bnb glamping host). I have so many things to share about my community, and my life and my generation.. There is still so much I want to do in this world. Thank you Alex for the inspiration. you have no idea how bad I needed to hear this too. I will be watching this over and over. Hang in there Evonte. You're young, And obviously smart. I waited almost too late in life For this reality check. Don't make the same mistake. Listen to this man he is wiser than his years. God bless you all. Love from east tennessee.

Watched this video, yesterday I kept telling myself "volume beats luck." And proceeded to send messages on IG all day. So far I have a 12.5% response rate. No closes, but we're well on our way. Thanks Alex! Let's go Ivante!

The best strategy to use in trading is to trade with a professional who understands the market quite well, that way maximum profit is guaranteed. I'll highly recommend Brenda Brown, she is my current trader and her strategies are working

Actually, this is not the first time am hearing of Brenda Brown and her exploits, how she handles investments and generates good profits. She has really made a good name for her self, but I have no idea how to reach her.
