@@gibson Question, the '57 Customs with the all mahogany bodies, are those a single piece of mahogany, or, does it utilize a mahogany top instead of a maple like the Standards use? When do they route the pickup cavities on the '57, and is the wiring channel a single 3/4" passage drilled from the output jack location? I've never been able to have these questions answered!

So....the tops are NOT carved by hand. Even in the custom shop. Doesn't sound "historic" to me. For what they charge, the tops should be carved by hand. 🙄 Eastmans are.

I think they are CNCd to a point near the final shape but then finished individually by humans. It is to save time on doing the rough work, otherwise they would be more expensive I guess.

People gripping about the price for a cnc made guitar. If they were hand carved, they would cost a lot more and harder to get.
