Thank you, everyone in the band gets their chance to shine…at this time, Freddie was 28, Brian was 27, Roger was 25 and the youngest, John, was 23…imagine playing that bass solo at 23 years of age….Queen were and always will be, lightning in a bottle…I must add that yesterday 19th August was John’s birthday….HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE ACE OF BASS…we hope you had a great day🌺❤️

this is a great song for Queen. Everyone gets their spotlight in it. Freddie's outstanding, Roger's beating the stuffing out of the drums, John's bass is so cool (and he gets his moment) and Brian always amazes me how his 'Red Special" sounds so awesome. It sings like it's another voice in the band.

This is an outstanding composition with switch ups in tempo, mood, intensity and of course the famous Queen/Mercury chord changes. Freddie really delivers on the vocals on this and each band member is given their moment to shine and shine they do. Thank you for your reaction.

Ive been a fan since 1972, and, although there is an almost endless list of my favourite Queen songs, this tops the list of the best live performances of theirs. I listen to it every single day. Never tire of it. Only 4 musicians making music the like of which we will probably never see again. Long Live Queen. RIP Freddie. You are still hugely missed, even after all this time 😥 😥 😥 😥 ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Queen was such an incredible live band, so few are as good or better live than the studio. Thanks for doing the live and giving it some love. Happy belated birthday, John! We miss you.

This song made me a fan when I heard it on their first album all those years ago. Next Flick of the wrist from the Rainbow 1974. It's their first statement to their manager that they were unhappy with. It's a great performance. Thank you for the great reaction, blessings from England xx

Legends, seen this concert in a cinema before the main flick, I was about 15. I'm now 60 and it still gets me going! Seen them live a few years later in 84.

I absolutely LOVE early Queen. Anything off Queen2, especially March of the Black Queen. They were young and hungry. Much prefer that to the 80ies anthems everybody knows (though I live those, too). They were only as good again in their last 2 or 3 albums, especially Innuendo.

React to queen soul brother Freddie wrote this song for Brian may when he was feeling down about the direction that queen was heading. Freddie references 7 queen songs in this song. R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU

Hi Scott…the story behind “Soul Brother” is Brian being pissed off with John who had composed a song aimed at Brian…it was “Backchat”…John had composed it because Brian was whining about Freddie and John liking Funk/Soul……to appease Brian, Freddie wrote “Soul Brother”…I hope you can follow all that😂🤩

So lit. Hands down amazing live. The lyrics are actually quite dark…essentially that authority are often the biggest liars, while punishing you for behaving in the same way. The religious theme could very well reflect Freddie’s Catholic boarding school experiences. 🤷♂️
@imweakfordeaky5 ай бұрын
It wasn’t a Catholic boarding school, it was Church of England (Anglican)… but there are many similarities. While St Peter’s School of Panchgani was founded for the education Anglo-Indian children of the Anglican faith, they did take students of other faiths in soon after its founding. For example, Freddie’s parents were of the Zoroastrian faith (a non-Abrahamic religion).
