Have to disagree. That one the video is better. Actually The making of One Vision and then the official video. Behind the scenes and interaction of the band in the making of and then seeing it put together in the official. Other songs live? Yeah....not so much this one.

My favorite song!! I’ve seen this performance 100’s of times and it never gets old!! I stare in amazement at this band! Freddie is the best of all time!! And the fantastic thing about Queen is they can perform the same song at another concert and it is uniquely different ... keeps the fans on their toes!! Here's an experiment for you. Watch their videos and compare them to the live versions. You'll be flabbergasted at the difference. One you might enjoy is Under Pressure live at Wembley (Sat gig) in '86. You may recognise the riff.

My favorite live performance and I think that's probably my 200th time watching that!! So so so so many Queen songs to dive into. Their style varies greatly and I am a fan of it ALL! You'd like "Save Me" from that same Montreal '81 show... "Under Pressure" @ Wembley, "Now I'm Here" live @ Wembley, an older song, "Killer Queen"... Just read all of your comments and start making a list!! 😍 🎶 👑 Can't wait to see more of your reactions of the best band of all times!! There are probably a lot of songs you know of theirs that you didn't know were from them! Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Freddie's tribute to Elvis, which he wrote in the bathtub in like 15 minutes lol), You're My Best Friend (in about a million movies - a John Deacon song), I Want It All (also in a million things haha), I Want to Break Free (again, it's a classic), and even the Flash theme song (Flash! Ahh ahh! Savior of the universe!). Obviously there's also We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions, but I think you knew those already. You definitely need to react to Live Aid! It was only a 20-minute set of a larger festival with lots of other performers, but they managed to fit in 6 of their most popular songs of the time, including a shortened Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You with full versions of the others and an amazing call and response from Freddie. Best rock performance of all time!

Queen is so influential that it is hard to really "get" them after only a couple of songs. They wrote some of the greatest songs known today, from sports anthems, such as We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions to the soundtracks of Highlander and Flash Gordon. Their music is used in movies and commercials to this day. They are in the Guinness Book of World Records more than any other band in history. Freddie Mercury is considered by many to be the greatest frontman, singer, and songwriter of all time. You will never be disappointed by Queen. They covered every single genre of music, from rock to disco, to rockabilly to opera and more. I can't wait to hear more. Great reaction, thanks.

I get what you mean about getting to know the band by their studio versions first, and I totally agree. Even this song, which is one of my all-time faves, I would really like you to hear both versions. The arrangement and complexity of the studio version is so enjoyable. Freddie is and will always remain a vocal God. While Freddie's speaking voice fell in the baritone range, he delivered most songs in the tenor range. His known vocal range extended from bass low F (F2) to soprano high F (F6). He could also get up to tenor high F (F5) He has sung along side Opera Legend Montserrat Caballe. If you get a moment, you can hear a demo he sent her called "Exercises in Free Love" when they were talking about collaborating. And will be one of the most beautiful things you'll ever hear. At first you may not believe it's him until he comes down to a lower note and you get a hint of the rock Freddie come through. It is his high operatic voice. His opera album with her is Barcelona.

Yup! I subscribed! You coming’ back for more Queen, I’ll come watch. Queen were almost always better live. Some say vocally he was better during the 70’s before he started having trouble with throat nodules, but even then he was better than many. So many great performances on offer but if you want to start at the beginning, The Rainbow and Hammersmith concerts were phenomenal. From the Rainbow, In The Lap of the Gods and at Hammersmith, In the Lap of the Gods revisited and White Queen. Looking forward to your journey

Live performances are usually better than the records or even the studio videos with a few exceptions. A Kind of Magic, Who Wants to Live Forever, and Under Pressure from their Wembley 1986 concert are very powerful, but don't overlook their early performances: Live from the Rainbow 1974, Live frim the Odeon Hammersmith 1975, Killer Queen from Top of the Pops tv performance, etc.

You have to check out Queen at Live Aid 1985. You'll see just how impactful they were(still are). They literally stole the show that day. It was a concert performed simultaneously in Philadelphia and London and televised world-wide to raise money for Famine relief in Ethiopia. there was an est. 1.2 BILLION viewers. Many bands and artists performed that day including Robert Plant and Jimmy Page(Led Zeppelin), Madonna, The Who, U2 etc....Each band was given a STRICT 20 mins to perform. It is widely known that queen stole the show. Freddie had the crowd in the palm of his hands. Check it out...
