Making chains when i was a jeweller was interesting.Gold is such a lovely metal i enjoyed working with 18ct/750.When you work with gold you understand why you came this way.One ounce or 33 grams of pure gold/99.99% will reach a length of 50 miles. This is a FACT.So ductile and beautiful.

Buddy, an ounce of four nines fine (.9999 fine) gold is not 33 grams no matter how you look at it… If you are talking about an imperial ounce, it equals 28.35 grams and if a troy ounce is taken into consideration, it is equivalent to 31.103 grams. If you were a jeweler who worked with gold in the past, this should be common knowledge to you.

People have been making gold jewelry for thousands of years. God given human intuition can is amazing. I wonder how they made these kinds of chains before though.

Back in old times, chains were riveted together, before we soldered them closed. Talk about a painstaking process

This is so badass. I wonder how ancient tribes in Africa were able to make gold jewelry in Ghana and Egypt thousands of years ago
