This Longines from 1970 was an interesting project. First of all it was pretty clean inside, I could find a little bit of dried oil but pretty much there was no oil in it. And also a crucial part was missing, the jewel to the balance wheel. This is why the ticking was so uneven. When the watch was finished restoring it turned out to be in very good condition. Not that much of wear could be seen in it. I guess it hasn't been used that much. Thank you for watching, take care!

Excellent video. But first you tapped the barrel bridge and made the hole small. Then you filed the hole gently so that the arbor will fit exactly. Am I right? Good technique rather than changing the barrel bridge which may not be available.
@Watcheyes2 жыл бұрын
Hello Swaminathan. You are exactly right. You want it to be to small so when you expand it with this type of plain "cutter" (don't know English word for it) there's a plain wall in the hole and the arbor fits perfectly. Thank you for taking your time to watch the video!

Hi Sir : what number of sandpaper for polish glass , and do you know benzene will cause cancer , we should not use the benzene ! Be saft ! Thank you
@Watcheyes2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben, nice to see you here. I use from 420, 400, 800 to 1000, then polish. Indeed, this is not Benzene, it's called Bensin i swedish and its gasoline or lighter fluid (chemical clean one). Thank you Ben, have a good day to you!
@benmak32832 жыл бұрын
@@Watcheyes I see , it is gasoline not benzene . you used 4 kinds of sand paper to polish the glass . Does sand paper can be used on acrylic ? I am very happy you gave me a reply , thanks ! Hej! 😀
