I came from home from work, went to grab my keys and saw this guy. I’ve seen him before briefly. Here's some bobcat info from internet:
Here's some information about bobcats in Connecticut:
Population
Bobcats are the only wild cat in Connecticut and are now found in every town in the state. The population has grown in recent years due to legal protections and improving forest habitats.
Appearance
Bobcats are medium-sized cats with short tails, pointed ears, and black spots on their gray or tan coats. They are about two to three times the size of a domestic house cat.
Habitat
Bobcats are most commonly found in the northwestern corner of Connecticut. They are secretive and solitary, and are usually active at twilight.
Diet
Bobcats are patient hunters that mainly eat cottontail rabbits, woodchucks, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, voles, white-tailed deer, and birds. They also sometimes eat insects, reptiles, and unsupervised domestic animals.
History
Bobcats were once a threat to agriculture and game species in Connecticut, and the state had a bounty on them from 1935 to 1971. In 1972, the bobcat was reclassified as a protected furbearer with no hunting or trapping seasons.
Reporting sightings
You can report bobcat sightings to the CT DEEP Wildlife Division to help with research and tracking their population. You can also report if you find a GPS collar or a bobcat that has been killed by a vehicle.
Scaring bobcats away
If you see a bobcat in your yard, you can scare it away by yelling or clapping loudly. You can also carry something with you to make noise, like an air horn, or something to throw, like a rock or baseball.
