06:12 'I feel like I'm watching a soap opera right now' Kylie and Jason WERE from a soap. Neighbours... they played Scott and Charlene. Their wedding was huge in the UK at the time. They were also a couple in real life too.

Ah Kylie and Jason were the golden couple of the late 80s. They were indeed in the long running soap Neighbours together and the episode where they got married was watched by 20 million people here in the UK! Her pop career was launched due to the popularity of her character, Charlene. Jason is absolutely gorgeous, I think you would enjoy Too Many Broken Hearts and Hang On To Your Love.

My fave from this group is 'What Kind of Fool'. As for Jason, he was definitely a heartthrob for millions of teenage girls. I had difficulty warming up to his songs at the time & he hasn't the strongest voice, but my favourite song of his is R.S.V.P.

It's nice to see the Kylie from the 80s. She started as a very young cute girl and throughout the years she evolved in what we see today a sexy confident woman. I love her. Another great song you should not miss is "Je Nais Par Pourqoui" from her debut album "Kylie" thanks my friend! ❤️

You really need to review Impossible Princess. There is so much to unpack about this amazing album. This was Kylie, lyrically and sonically at her best and most creative, and it has her fingerprints on every single song. She’d never done an album like that before, and she never will again. But we were gifted with an incite into her artistry and emotion. Stand out tracks: Limbo, Say Hey, Jump, Dreams, Cowboy Style, I don't need Anyone. They totally picked the wrong singles though, except maybe Breath, but the album version of Breathe is different from the single/video.

Locomotion is a cover and her first single, it was no.1 for 7 weeks in Australia in 1987 and is the highest selling single of the 1980's in Aus. We went crazy for it. Obviously the video is low budget but videos did not matter back then as much.

Love this reaction video. Fabulous. The Loco-motion was Kylie's 3rd single in the UK and she performed this tune on the UK TV show Top of the Pops in late July 1988 [which was her very first of countless appearances on that show]. I think you would enjoy that performance as well. Actually it's my very favourite Top of the Pops performance of all-time of any artist, but that;s just my preference. Anyway, thank you for the video and thanks for finally doing What Kind of Fool. It usually gets overlooked as it didn't featured on any studio album, only the greatest hits in 1992 which it was used to promote. Terrific tune. Have a good day.

Word is Out and Finer Feeling are both from the same album (Let's get to it), and are the most underrated songs of her career. She never does any songs from "Let's get to it" when she's touring. I would love to see you react to more material from the 90's, like her 94 self-titled album, and Impossible Princess. Limbo from Impossible Princess is a song that will make your jaw drop, and it's the song that was supposed to be the first single from Impossible P. and Kylie's favourite song from that era/album, but the record company thought it was too "aggressive". It was also written by her and is extremely personal, lyrically. She did it on her Fever Tour.

Another great reaction! Word is Out is maligned but I love it too. What Kind of Fool is apparently Kylie’s least favourite of all her songs but I kind of live for it. SAW knew Kylie was leaving and I think they tried to encapsulate everything about their recording collaborations for that last song.. the cheesy subject matter, the cut-up vocal effects, the huge chorus. It’s like I Should Be So Lucky, Hand on your Heart and Better The Devil You Know rolled into one. That one will always be a sentimental favourite for me. And Kylie is playing Bardot in the video 👌

Some context : THE LOCOMOTION was previously a #1 hit for Little Eva in 1962, and Grand Funk in 1974. Kylie's cover peaked @ # 3 in1988. Jason Donovan was her costar in the Aussie soap "Neighbours" and became her music studio mate at Stock, Aitken, & Waterman (aka,The Hit Factory, PWL). They produced all 4 of these tracks, in addition to Rick Astley, Bananarama, Dead or Alive and many others.

Her first song produced and mixed by Stock Aitken and Waterman (SAW) in 1987 .. and the other three songs were also written and produced by SAW.... Pete Hammond from PWL at the time (working with SAW), largely made Kylie famous with her I should be so Lucky in 1988, taken from her first album. Pete also mixed and produced her song ''What Kind Of Fool'' in 1992 not long before she left the SAW stable/ Hit Factory

No, the original summer 1987 version of "Locomotion" was NOT produced by SAW and sounds totally different! The SAW produced version was renamed "The Loco-Motion" and released one year later, in summer 1988 as her third single off the "Kylie" album.

When you said “how many genres has Kylie done? “ - I laughed so loud. It’s 2023 and I’m low key hoping for trance house Kylie to happen. The only space she hasn’t played in is probably heavy metal. I’m sure she could if she wanted to. 😅 and why not ? No one saw the goth ballad coming and being a hit?

Jason❤ My 8-year-old heart still belongs to him and a few *ahem* years later I still regularly go to see him live because he is just❤️ Hang On To Your Love, When You Come Back To Me, Rhythm of the Rain, Doin’ Fine and obviously everything Joseph (mmmmm the loincloth era!) are some faves! At a show a few years ago he said his most epic celebrity moment was going to the gym after a Joseph performance, going to have a shower and who should be naked in the shower … GEORGE BLOODY MICHAEL! Early 90s Jason and George … naked … showers … 🤤 I tell that story all the time because I think it’s of international importance!!!!!!!!!❤😂
