Little thing to note Alex; Linkin Park were hated in 2017. When they transitioned to the softer music, the fanbase changed too and the butthurt metalheads started shit talking the way they do with every other band that goes soft. People always acknowledged that Chester was immensely talented, but they also hated on them and called them trash because they'd lost their edge. I really really hate to tell you Alex, in 2017... Linkin Park was very hated on, from the latest "Heavy" to an album before. A lot of people really really dropped the band, critiquing and in an up roar that they are now "pop". It was very very sad to see. I always saw it as progression, as following the wave of people's taste as well as throwing a few heavier songs in the album. I remember seeing threads after heavy of people saying Linkin Park is dead, is over and Chester can't do harsh vocals anymore. I am very very sure unfortunately, this was a big factor of his passing that same year. The teen in the grey hat was literally the Linkin Park fans. They all turned so hard on the band. A universally loved band, was now getting a harder time than Nickleback. I heard Heavy by accident on the radio. It was a great song, however I didn't know it was Chester until he belted. I will never not recognise a Chester belt! But I thought I was a collab as Chester instead of Linkin Park. I went on KZbin and found the song... the comments were horrific. I will still vouch, Heavy is a good song. I actually get so choked up to remember 2017, to remember the news of Chester. I couldn't help but think... the fans which he loved and turned on him, were partly guilty. I had a Walkman! A tape Walkman which was Taz!

Firstly, I would like to point out that I have been a Linkin Park fan since my bro down the street put their first album in my CD player while we rollerblading in front of my house. I went all in since that first song. It wasn't easy for me when they changed styles but I knew that they were figuring out where they were going as a band. Even so, I kept listening, whether the new albums were heavy or not. I do think that some people abandoned them in those years but they also gained fans who liked their newer music over the old style. When Chester passed, a lot of people put away the negativity and remembered the positive things about Linkin Park. All that I can truly say is that LP saved my life multiple times over some pretty dark moments for me, over the years. Every song, every beat and every album came with it's own distinct set of feelings and memories that changed me. For that I say thank you Linkin Park. Thank you, Alex for bringing this content, as usual. I appreciate what you do.

Dude no joke you handled that better than most i know who'd saw this haha, I know people say that Linkin Park "fans" were not happy about the switch up in the music they did, But i've only ever met one in many years and even they admitted they only heard a song or two from the new songs that were put out at the time and disliked the whole album because of those two or three songs he'd heard. The point of music is to evolve and change, If you don't evolve and change your fans are going to grow out of the era of music, How we feel at 10 is different throughout our teen years to our 20's, Then we evolve and move past that because we're going through different things at different stages of life, Linkin Park is so good at what they did and do that they grew with people and were never afraid to change it up, People would even say In the End was poppy or more hip hop than metal or rock until the last what minute ? Fan's who complian that a group grew and evolved are honestly people stuck in the mud of there own lives and are bitter and angry that others moved on while they are stuck in place, Its all it is.. Miss Chester lots and without i doubt i know no other singter capable of singing as well and as good with the emotion he he had in his voice, Some come close, Damn close but none reach him and i'm sorry he's gone, We're all worse off without him. He's a Star, A legend and he'll always be missed by those who loved him.. Rest in peace Chester.

I simply do not understand this. Not trying to judge but goodness have an open mind, I was listening to LP, SOAD, Rage, KoRn, Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Petty, Queen, Deftones, Disturbed, Limp, etc all by age 12

Numb hits me the hardest its honestly a perfect description of my childhood I grew up with linkin park i absolutely love them im always battling my own demons with depression and trying to live up to my family's expectations and its never been enough so recently I had to cut ties with some relatives so thats something im always putting on a brave face for my loved ones too so i don't exactly tell people im close to how hard things are getting so it feels kind of good to just type this out on here to a bunch of people who don't know me and hopefully don't mind but anyway sorry for dumping on here I know its weird for someone to just pop up and unload like that ig I kind of felt the need to but if its an issue I'll delete the post just let me know no big deal anywho always love watching ur videos keep up the great work

Linkin Park is such an amazing band and loved Chester’s voice. I have a black and white picture signed by Rob Fenn who took the pic on my wall. The last album I really liked and I remember a lot of fans hating on it because they went pop. I liked it for the lyrics and all the songs were amazing. I remember when Mike said they wanted to change it up because they kept doing a song it would just be a repeat of their old music which would be boring.

Fun fact. I believe when the guy says he likes the animation (for Breaking The Habit), that is the main inspiration for the Lost video style

The band learned how to channel all of their emotions in to their music without having to scream. Their sound matured along with their audience. They grew along with their fans.

There are four of these videos dude. Mike Shinoda reacted to this, than the teens reacted to that reaction, & then there was a 4th one where some of those teens were reacting to Mike Shinoda's solo music.... with a twist. You must complete the journey Alex. It will all make sense.

Some of your perspectives on music are cool, that's why I watch your content and I agree with a many of them. But I didn't vibe with just shitting on some kids even if jokingly some of it was a bit much like talkn' about strangling someone and repeatedly badmouthing 'em. Ima just hope it's played up for the camera especially hard this time. Otherwise that's... questionable. Each to their own on what's entertaining either way, just my thoughts on it. I look forward to more music content! Cheers~ p.s Not entertaining arguments if whoever reply's tryin' to look for one, just wanted to share my thoughts on what I watched. Have a great day y'all and stay healthy~

I've listened to linkin park since 2014, my father absolutely love linkin park and have been listening since 2003. The first song from linkin park i've heard is points of authority, and have been listening for so long now. Lost just released and I'm having it on repeat, my favorite album is probably living things or reanimation. I thank my father for one of my favorite bands of all time now.

Personally, my favorite LP song of all time has got to be Numb, followed by In the End, Crawling, and Breaking the Habit. Very honorable mentions go out to Easier to Run, Castle of Glass, Lost in the Echo, Roads Untraveled, and A Place for My Head. Xero and The Hybrid Theory Demos are also great albums (songs like Reading My Eyes and Carousel are great)! Early Linkin Park is clearly the best Linkin Park, but that's not to take away from how great they still are. After all, 3 of the songs I listed were all from their 2012 album Living Things, and I like Final Masquerade from their 2014 album The Hunting Party also.

Oh, I remeber when the "thousand suns" album got released and everyone was hating on it. That was a point that showed me that I´m... consuming music differently.
@rosserjake Жыл бұрын
"A lot of their music is sort of the same" A Thousand Suns sounds completely different to Hybrid Theory or Meteroa. They've never been afraid to change their sound and experiment. Now that Chester's death and his experience with sexual abuse, drug addiction, alcoholism etc is well documented; no one is saying the lyrics are "cringy". They are raw, genuine, authentic and powerful.

I just have to say Alex, I love your opinions, so relatable and its so funny seeing you react to these kids. I've been listening to Linkin Park since I was 8 years old and and still to this day I can put on one step closer and feel the same as i did the first day i heard it. I can say with confidence that they are one of if not the best band of all time.
