@ByronBTB22 күн бұрын
@@katherinepadron0628 you're confusing smoke detectors, heat detectors, and sprinklers... smoke and heat detectors are not very difficult to activate. They are a early warning device to occupants of the building. They do not, in turn, activate a sprinkler system. Smoke and heat detectors are sensitive early warning devices, sprinklers help protect the building' structure long after anyone in the area has expired from smoke inhalation. Sprinklers are activated by heat, individually... I doubt a lighter would suffice very easily. A hammer would be quicker. It would be kind of obvious what was happening though, seeing some crazed woman running around a party swinging at each sprinkler head. The movies that depict all the sprinklers going off at once are a Hollywood invention.

This reminded me of a story of a mother who took her daughter’s son while the daughter was recovering from serious health issues. She made the boy call her mom (she was his grandma) and her husband dad. When her daughter, the boy’s real mother, came to pick him up, he was confused and wasn’t allowed to go with her. It was messy, and sadly, the momster killed her own daughter to steal the boy because she couldn’t have kids anymore but her husband wanted to be a father. You should be really careful with your mil. Trying to teach your kids that she is their mom is really disturbing.

My mom is like this. She decided to be called “Nana” to my daughter because we love and adore our Nana. It has made it confusing ever since and is now has a negative connotation when heard. My kids dad's mom used to tell my kids to call her "mama" the Spanish version of mom because she didn't like being called "grandma" and my first kid got confused so she would call her momma and call me by my first name. My kids dad would correct my daughter everytime she would call her "grandma" but not when she would call me by my first name even though I expressed that I did not want my child calling me by my first name and having her call her basically mom out in public. For reference I'm black and they are white so no one would have known I was her mother because my daughter looks just like her dad. It hurts me that he wouldn't stand up for me at all. She doesn't like us because I made my kids call her by her first name because she didn't want to find a middle ground. He blames me and I don't care. It was the first time I've ever stood up for myself in my life. It felt scary and kinda good with a splash of regret because I hate it when people are mad at me and they were. I put up with it for a whole year before I finally said something.

This is disgusting. I don't care how much confusion or commotion there was surrounding this situation, the father's ("SOB") duty is to (1) his children, and (2) his wife. Nothing short of witnessing the wife commit cold-blooded murder should have compelled SOB to kick out his wife and infant child. Based on the facts and circumstances, I'm guessing there was history between the mother ("POS") and the wife, and if this is the case then SOB should have permitted POS to be anywhere near the wife during this time. My wife had a relatively rough pregnancy (nothing life-threatening, but she was sick every day of her pregnancy until the very last week), but that didn't compare to what she went through for about 3 months postpartum. It was the happiest time of our lives, but at the same time she struggled so hard just to feel/act like herself. We've been married for 20 years, and it was the only time I felt protective over her, because it was the only time I ever doubted her ability to do so. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me how SOB could fail to protect his wife from his own mother during this time. His decision to ask his wife and infant child to leave just proves that he's an absolute scumbag.

I am a nurse working in a pediatric cardiac ICU. On the (rare) occasions that our unit is slow - we float to the intensive care nursery to help out. Let me tell you - the L&D and nursery units are THE MOST SECURE in the whole hospital. No one’s badges open the security doors unless they routinely work on n those units - you have to be let in. All that was needed was for Mom/Dad to specify no visitors when they were admitted. In addition, our electronic charting system keeps track of the charts you open. So if MIL opened her DIL’s chart there is NO NEED to report the incident. The system will flag that MIL opened a chart without being directly involved in the patient’s care - and it will be investigated with SERIOUS consequences- including job/license loss, fines in the thousands of dollars and jail time. At my institution- this could even happen to me if I opened my OWN chart and didn’t use the standard patient portal.

I noticed some people commenting about how the head nurse story is fake and cannot happen the way it was told. You’d be surprised. My MIL was a family practice physician at the time I had both of my daughters. During my first pregnancy, my MIL insisted on being in the room for the birth. I allowed it in hopes of keeping the peace and still being a rather new newlywed, I wanted everything to go smoothly. It’s a long story. My MIL didn’t just check my chart, she interfered with the delivery. She ordered the nurses around when she wasn’t pushing them out of the way. The birth was difficult, with my daughter being a blue baby. Her shoulder got stuck. It was almost a life threatening situation for me and possibly my baby. After Baby’s shoulder released, MIL began using an older camera with a really bright light to photo Baby’s entrance into the world, despite my husband and I telling her ahead of time, there will be no pictures taken. Then MIL walked around holding Baby instead of allowing me to hold her. She was rambling on with utter nonsense that she could predict what eye and hair color Baby would eventually have. How tall she would be as an adult. I finally began to sit up while my doctor was in the middle of stitching me up to yell at MIL to get out! My doctor kicked her out of the room. Two years and 3 days later, I’d be back at the hospital, doing the same thing with my second daughter. Only this time, I had a discussion beforehand with my doctor. I let her know MIL would be demanding to be in the room during the birth, and she felt entitled because she was on staff with the hospital. I said MIL is not welcome in the room. My doctor said she would tell my MIL to leave because only two people were going to be allowed in the room. She didn’t think there was going to be an issue. I told the doctor she had my blessing to call security because I was sure MIL was not going to willingly leave the room. My husband just couldn’t stop himself from calling his relatives as soon as I went into labor, even though he knew there was going to be an issue. As preparation for the birth began, my doctor told my MIL multiple times to leave the room and she outright refused. My doctor picked up the phone to call security. My husband finally went over to her and nudged her out. My MIL didn’t just look at my chart, she handled instruments, interfered with the doctor and nurses. After Baby 2 was born, MIL pushed her way into the room and insisted a friend of hers, whom I’d never met, be allowed to see Baby 2. MIL got away with a lot of things and she used her credentials with the hospital to do it. With Baby 2, yes my husband did invite his mother (and other relatives) to the hospital. However, she would’ve had to use her hospital credentials under the guise of seeing a patient of hers, not relatives, to get up to the hospital floor. I don’t know how many rules, regulations, policies, standard procedures and LAWS my MIL broke. I do know they are multiple. My MIL is not normal. She got fired like, 4 times in the time I’ve known her to her retirement, had many complaints against her, and at least one malpractice lawsuit.

I worked as a nurses aid for 14 years and with my badge I could swipe and walk onto any floor I wanted, even surgical and there's no reason for a nurse aid to be on that floor except to transfer a patient from or to different floors. If staff knows the codes or has a badge, you can live in a hospital rent-free for a lifetime, and no one would ever know, lol. Kidding but no, seriously, it's not hard to floor hop when you are staff. I floated, so I worked all 12 floors plus Labor and Emergency. It just depended which floor needed me each shift on which night . I truly miss working in a medical setting. So fast-paced, no time to think and its time to clock out of a 12 hour shift before you realize it but the switch back 12 days /12 nights were killer on sleep schedules. Knowing the situation they did not leave and I know I asked them to in between the pain. I saw them over to the side looking and it was nothing I can do but give birth. Another time when I finally had my Rainbow baby, I had to be on a machine for 24 hours and had not held my child yet. She was born 6 weeks early and was in the incubator. The MIL and SIL came into my room mad that they were not allowed to hold my daughter when no one has, me or dad. The nurse came later and told me she refused them to hold her because I the Mother had not held her yet. The nurse was the savior in this story. The in-laws were just overbearing!

My oldest niece called my mother “Nonnie,” so all the kids that came after her do, too. My own grandmother was called “Grandma Darling,” and I’m told the reason is that, when I was a baby and she’d look after me while my mother was working, she would call me “darling” constantly, like, “Hey, Darling!” Soon enough I started saying it back to her, “Hey, Darling!” and seemed to be under the impression that her name was Darling. Scared my uncle from even considering taking anything that belonged to his brother (he had no claim over anything after he and my dad became estranged when they were younger bc my dad took over being a 'dad' to his brother when they were kids from when their dad passed away sometime in the 60's/70's, so my uncle never asked for forgiveness from him, and tried to get it from my mom, and she knew better and said, no, you had *plenty* of chances before he died.
