This movie was way ahead of its time. Peak CGI for movies was in the 2000s. Pirates of the Caribbean and LOTR set the mark, and Michael Bay's Transformers followed

The reason they went into the city was because they have seen what the Transformers could do in open terrain, they were basically unstoppable. In the city, they would be forced to go street level, surrounded by buildings. Urban warfare is specially complicated for mechanised warfare, tanks and similarl vehicles because it is crammed and the infantry can make ambushes. Considering most Deceptions are way bigger than the autobots, which are smaller and nimbler, the city was the only option. Is pretty smart if we even compare the Helicopter (named Blackout) bomb attack in the beginning vs the end. In the open terrain of the military base, the blast annihilated basically everything in a bast radius, but between buildings the same attack was contained and considerably weaker

This movie was miles ahead of it's time when it came out. Michael Bay use to direct car commercials and he used that experience to help him with this. It's the only one in the series I rewatch, and the CGI still holds up. They literally had a place for every part to go when they transformed and the amount of detail shown as it did it was dope.

It doesn't matter how many times I've seen the movie, the scene with Optimus and the other Autobots arriving on Earth will always give me the good kind of chills. Little backstory: Since I was born in 1991, I didn't get to grow up with Peter Cullen as the voice of Optimus. In 2001, my first exposure to the Transformers universe was through the series Robots In Disguise, with a voice actor named Neil Kaplan providing the voice of Optimus Prime. Then from there it went to the Unicron trilogy with Gary Chaulk as the voice of Optimus. I didn't get to fully bask in the glory of the Autobot Supreme Commander until this movie came out in 2007. I have a profound appreciation for what Peter Cullen has brought to the table in the world of the Transformers. Between the live action movies (4 and 5 are horrible), and the Transformers Prime series. He is forever my favorite voice actor for Optimus Prime. I just hope I get to meet him one day before he inevitably passes.

I think almost everyone agrees that The Last Knight (at least its final form) is absolutely terrible. Too bad because the visuals and score might be the best of the entire series IMO. "How don't you hear that" yeah that's a running theme in these movies 😂 The only limit on what a transformer can turn into is size. Frenzy (radio/phone) can't turn into vehicles because he's too small, megatron couldn't turn into a washing machine because he's too big. It's all about mass The reason they're hiding the cube in the city is because its the nearest "defensable" position. The enemy are on top of them, they don't have the time to move somewhere secure without a population Also please watch at least the second and third movie. 4 and 5 aren't really as good because 3 is intended to be the ending movie but 3 is the best in my opinion

Bumble Bee in this Transformers movie franchise was always a Chevy Camaro. The first Chevy Camaro, Bumble Bee scanned to copy was I believe a 1977 Chevy Camaro so when Bumble Bee heard the girl call him a piece of crap Camaro, he knew he needed to update to the latest model Chevy Camaro and scanned the next one in the tunnel. The Autobots are the GOOD Cybertronians (protagonists). The Decepticons are the EVIL Cybertronians (antagonists). Autobots and Decepticons are part of the same species of autonomous robotic life form known as Cybertronians from their home world of Cybertron.
