You think that's bad? I literally couldn't beat him in the emulator version of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories as I was playing alone without Donald and Goofy. Even to this day I haven't beaten the game and probably never will.

@@blutomindpretzel1735 No, you're wrong. Chain of Memories is a great game. I remember having a lot of fun while playing it on emulator as a kid, even though I was never able to beat it. Not to mention that it was my introduction to the franchise as a whole. I didn't even knew it was actually a midquel at the time. I've heard that the remake released for the PS2 is really good too, even though I have never played it. Even my brother likes Kingdom Hearts despite playing only the first game and this along with me. He even knows about Final Fantasy despite never playing any of the games in the franchise. The one character he is mostly familiar with is Sephiroth. We had watched an AMV about him back in the 2000s. Unfortunately it has been lost to time and it's impossible to find it on KZbin. I don't even know the name of the song.

I’m really glad this list acknowledges that “very hard” ≠ “frustrating”. That all these fights have an bit of “cheapness” to them that makes them frustrating. Thusly why I’m also glad that no bosses from Hollow Knight are on this list. That game is truly a masterclass in great boss design. Where even a boss like Nightmare King Grimm can be extremely difficult, but never feels cheap. Inversely, if I could add a boss to this list, it’d be the “Svipdagr, The Cold And The Sisters Of Illska” fight in GOW:Ragnarok. The exact opposite of good boss design.. disgustingly cheap and unfair.

@@JamesDavy2009 If you pick up the trade Onix in Violet City, Miltank can't touch you, there's a trade Machop in Goldenrod City, the Clefairy is setup fodder for X items, if you're playing HGSS and happened to pick Cyndaquil, you can buy the TM for Fire Blast in the Goldenrod Department Store, there are many strategies, unlike Volo, where the best strategy is to outlevel Giratina by at least five levels

Whitney is one thing but Gambler from Pokemon Stadium (Master Ball Difficulty) actually breaks the game with his uncanny luck, unleashing the 10% instant-kill moves that were removed in future Generations for good reason... at near 100% accuracy.

The real emotional toll that Chef Saltbaker takes on you is watching him gleefully murder the scared, sad, innocent ingredients in that first phase. The sugar boy never deserved to be smashed and he makes the box of strawberries run off crying. 😢

I know this game isn’t as popular as this one, but this final boss is really hard in a game that’s pretty reasonable. Leonard Friedman from ObsCure (2004). He has two stages, the first you have to destroy 5 vines connected to him, but there is an issue, he can manipulate these spores that you’ve dealt with the whole game, but here it’s like a random attack that hits you while you try and shoot and happens back to back. Let alone that, if you kill a vine (5 in all), then you have to get in a circle of light or he will send out a wave of spores that instantly kills you. Let alone you have big vines the block the way around and you have to go around, closer to Friedman, but if you get too close to his body, he’s surrounded by spores. Let’s say you beat this part and you like, yay, ending cutscene…only for this ass to come up toe the gym where you are in the sunlight. Here…he attacks and you hand to dodge, but the thing is, the dodge can’t work when he does a swipe across the area; you get hit. And I’d you don’t have enough healing items, well your as good as dead, well I assume, because it’s not super hard to stick up on them. But in the end, he dies and it’s the ending comes. This is really the only boss battle in the game, but it goes way too hard for a final boss when the rest of the game wasn’t as bad with fighting.

Whitney taught us normal should never be overlooked a a type with the right build and punished us for choosing cyndaquil. And yes that damned destroyer was such a bullet sponge even when you figured out the eye was the soft spot. I always seemed to barely win with only a few rounds left in my revolver. And enough hp a kitten sneezing on me could take me out.

The Elite Four were way way wayyyyy harder than Witney was in Pokemon Gold & Silver. You had to stock up on PP Up, Max Revive and Hyper Potions as there was no going back once you entered. There was always a sense of achievement and relief when you beat them. Also, did anyone beat the final boss in True Crime Streets Of LA? Took me a whole week to beat him.

Whitney was such a pain. Also besides the roll out attack is gym leader’s annoying habit of using potions when you almost winning. I got lucky and used gastlys curse attack, if you can keep your team alive for 4 turns you win because curse does 1/4 damage every turn😈

Micolash is single handedly my reason for never wanting to play Bloodborne again. The first run is pretty manageable, but on the 2nd and 3rd run, necessary for the platinum trophy, when his magic attacks can kill you in one or 2 hits and one of them is a homing scattershot attack, he's not even fun for the novelty. Basically the only way I've learned to deal with him after the 2nd time you chase him down and he starts using the homing attack is to combo him into a corner until you're out of stamina, shoot him until your stamina recovers so he remains stun locked, and then repeat until you've taken his health down. It's deeply unsatisfying.

Another that's pretty frustrating is Seraphim from Doom Eternal The Ancient Gods Part 1. There's just so much going on. Turrets, electric barriers, tough demons, and those stupid Spirits. Dark Lord in Part 2 was easier in my honest opinion.

Honorable Mention: Nightmare Snakes (Mega Man X6) You have to fight those things 4 times. FOUR TIMES. All at full health, either going up and down, side to side, or in all direction, and have to avoid contact damage or run the risk of fighting them again.

I’m kinda surprised that Yoshika and Seija, from Touhou 13 and 14 respectively, didn’t appear here. Yoshika heals herself during some of her attacks which means you either have to go up close to her to get her to stop healing and then get hit, or stay back and time out her attacks. And Seija’s gimmick is that she flips your controls. In a bullet hell. You can see how that gets super annoying really quick.

Dishonorable Mentions: *Iblis Phase 2 - Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) -You need to cross a series of stalagtite platforms so you can hit this orb that lures Iblis over so you can hit his weak spot. Do this 3 more times and you win. The problem is the platforms appear in segments and they take FOREVER to appear! Iblis barely does anything throughout the fight, only diving into you and destroying some of the platforms. If you're in the wrong spot to bait him, you gotta wait a loooooong time. You thought Silver was bad? This is atrocious! And you have to fight him TWICE! *Mutated Human Kite 2 - South Park: The Fractured But Whole -At least Mitch Conner can be cheesed by stacking many damaging status conditions. This battle is even more daunting. Right at the start, he has a lot of health and once he's taken enough damage, he pulls a cheap trick that changes the battle for the worse. Instead of getting to go once ALL OF YOUR PARTY MEMBERS have already gone, Mutated Human Kite 2 now declares that he gets a turn once ANY OF YOUR PARTY MEMBERS ENDS THEIR TURN! You need to use your newest time fart to change the time of day, leaving him vulnerable for your party to wail on him. But there's a time limit before he's ready to go at it again. So why do I find him more frustrating than Mitch Conner? Because all throughout Dr. Mephesto's lab, you've been told that you need to be standing near a cooling fan in order to use your new time fart (the same one you use to change the time of day). And I legitimately thought the new kid had to be standing on the space on the grid that's directly in front of the fan and THEN use the time fart, thinking that's how you beat him, which gets especially frustrating when Human Kite 2 is standing in the way of said fan. But no, you can just activate the time fart from ANYWHERE ON THE GRID and change the time of day. I LEGIT WAS GETTING ANNOYED BECAUSE I THOUGHT THERE WAS MORE TO THE BOSS THAN THERE ACTUALLY WAS!! *Wily Capsule - Mega Man 7 -His projectiles have absurd tracking, you need to be in very specific positions to bait and avoid them depending on where the capsule is. It also doesn't help that his weakness is the worst weapon in the game, Spring Man's Wild Coil. *Behemoth - Monster Hunter World -All of the Behemoth's REGULAR PHYSICAL ATTACKS are strong enough to one-shot hunters! It can also call meteors, tornadoes and lightning strikes. But his worst attack is Ecliptic Meteor, which will insta-kill ALL HUNTERS REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY ARE ON THE MAP (EVEN IF THEY'RE IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AREA)!! The only way to avoid this attack is to take cover behind a fallen comet or enter the base camp tent. *Zhang Liang, General of Man - Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty -He is unrelentingly aggressive and his attacks do a ton of damage. And this is a Sekiro-like, meaning deflecting is the name of the game here. Getting the parry timing down can be difficult and pn top of that, there's a second phase whwre he becomes a monster with even more agression and more punishing attacks. Now with all that said, you'd think this would be a boss that you fight late game. Well, heres the problem with Zhang Liang... HE'S THE GAME'S FIRST MAIN BOSS!!! So before you can even get ankle deep into the game, you gotta deal woth this crap! And at this point, you BARELY have any options to heal or make the fight easier. Not helped by your brain dead AI companion who screws you over by just not attacking the boss a lot of the time (or at all)! Screw you, Zhang Liang! Go away and let Zhuyan be the first boss!

Minotaur from SMTIV is just as bad or even worse especially since two of your selectable AI companions are complete and utter morons who make it worse Jonathan who has Bufu which is super effective against Minotaur due to the cow demon's weakness to Ice but Jonathan like the moron he is never uses, and then there's Walter who has the starting fire spell Agi and Minotaur absorbs Fire Damage and Walter like the moron he is keeps spamming it insuring Minotaur not only heals what damage you did do to it but also gets another turn and to make it worse Minotaur has the attack Lybris Strike which is not only a powerful multi-hitting physical attack but also has a high Crit Rate and since Critical Hits equal extra turns you can guess what that means.

When it comes to the Godskin Duo... Given how hated they are for being annoying, I found them weirdly _easy._ To the point where I went "Wait, what?" when I beat them on my first attempt. (No, I'm not kidding. Having heard how difficult they were, and being a relative novice to Soulsborne games, I was _very_ confused by the easy victory, especially since I didn't use the sleep-based cheeses!) Though that _might_ be because I called on both Bernahl, and the Mimic Tear (on a Sorcery-focused spellblade build). I suspect I'll find them a lot more annoying when I go through with an Incantation build

I had similar experience but i didnt even needed to summon anything. I just kited them around those pillars and killed them one by one. For me most anoying was Margrit or Radagon because every one of their attacks have different timing.

3:21 This old bastard has been a nightmare for my older brother to beat back when he was a teen. I was in 6 years old at the time. The game came out on consoles one year before my brother bought it. The first character he played as was Yoshimitsu and Jinpachi was such a pain in the ass that he literally quit in his first playthrough. He did finally beat Jinpachi with Howarang but when he played as Steve, Marduk and Lee he once again had a frustrating experience by trying to beat that motherfucker (even though he was able to beat him with these characters as well). However when he played as Jin, Raven, Heihachi, Kazuya, Paul, Law, Lei, King, Jack-5, Bruce and Yoshimitsu (again) he seemed to have had it with ease compared to his first 4 playthroughs. Ironically True Ogre was a rather easy final boss compared to Jinpachi. Azazel from Tekken 6 was also a pain the ass and I did play the game and I could understand how my brother felt.

9. Attract can be frustrating given the MASSIVE MALE SLANT in the starters and the fact that Miltank is always female. Try bringing in a magnemite since it's genderless and is a steel-type, and steel-types are resistant to rock-type moves. Or better yet, use toxic on Miltank. Toxic's poison damage worsens with each passing turn. Yeah, Miltank has a status condition-curing Lum Berry, but you can just use toxic again to put it in a bad position. 7. Funny, I was expecting Azazel from Tekken 6. 5. Phase one can be a nightmare. Limes boomeranging across the arena, raining sugar cubes, strawberry slices blasting at you, animal crackers hopping across the arena and then there's that fireball at the top of the screen. The rest of the phases are more manageable compared to this. 1. I had a harder time against Mad Mel than this.

If you think bed of chaos is hard on NG, just wait till you get to NG+3. regardless of which armor you pick or your stats it's almost always a hit kill, the only real way to manage without cheesing it is to unequip all your weapons, put on Havel's armor, Chloranthy ring and Havel's ring (while still being below 50% load) and carrying a shield with really high stability like the great shield of Artorias, then proceed to block the sweep attacks and avoid the firestorms, use rolls to break the wood between you and the orbs, and once you do hit one of the orbs, quickly quit back to the main menu and then load the game again to be sent behind the fog gate, repeat until she's dead. due to the total equipment load being 66, the only way to do this is if you level your endurance to 50 (granted not really that hard on NG+ you'll probably be in the upper 200s SL range during late NG+3). The most infuriating experience I've had with it was doing it perfectly getting the position for the jump right, and then getting hit by the sweep right after jump

What about Eos from the claptastic voyage, he was so overpowered that gearbox had to nerf his shields to make him beatable, but only just. I still dread taking him on even replays at Mac level with the best possible gear. Another boss for this list would be the Metal T-Rex from Campaign of Carnage

I completely agree with Watchmojo on this list, especially with the souls games. Micolash was more annoying than difficult as he just basically ran and spammed. When I tried the first dark souls I didn't get far in it tbh not because of the difficulty but the gameplay mechanics were slow but i'm glad I didn't get to the BOC because I would've straight up hated the game. And the Godskin duo was basically Ornstein and Smough but worse. 😤

Godskin duo is not that frustrating. Mimic tear summon will help you out with the skinny one. When it comes to the fat, it can be cheesed by throwing sleep pots at him, and break his posture while he's sleeping.

Satans true form from broforce. Hear me out, the only weakspot is Satans face and you’ll have to climb his body to get there but the problem is that the body can be destroyed and once it is there is no way to damage satan unless you have use bros like brodell walker since he can call an air strike or Indiana brones who can swing from walls and ceilings. At least you can use his legs to try to get to his face

I’m going to be honest you’re #1 pick is pretty sad. That fight is more disappointing than difficult. I would say legend of Zelda skyward sword has some of the most infuriating boss battles. Especially the sealed ground boss fight now that fight was extremely frustrating.

Godskin Duo is nowhere near as the most difficult of this list as long as youre both prepared for them and have the right tools for the fight. Fire Giant is much more tedious with some of his attacks, hell, a lot more Elden Ring bosses are more deserving of that spot.
