I don't agree with you. He was not innocent at all. First of all, Ali was an illegal in Korea, including wife and kid. He stole the money from his boss who died. Second, even after he got the money, he went to back to the game for more money. Sang Woo knew Ali was an illegal from the beginning, but he genuinely helped Ali to get home, rather than call the police. Sang Woo would never expect to see Ali again until Ali came to see Sang Woo. Ali saw Sang Woo's generosity and usefulness for himself , but Sang Woo was smart enough to know what Ali's intention was. Therefore, Ali was a greedy human being as much as Sang Woo.
@ajheartsong3 жыл бұрын
@@kani37seo64 his boss refused to pay them for several months so who’s the real villain? Also he saved Gi-hun, a stranger who he could’ve let die during red light green light. While sang woo didn’t want to be an ally to the old or to women, Ali showed respect and concern for the old man and kept calling him “sir”. I might’ve missed the part where he was an illegal immigrant, but even if he was, he was just trying to survive. While Sang woo acted in self interest the whole game, Ali actually cared about other ppl.
@kani37seo643 жыл бұрын
@@ajheartsong He went to Korea to earn money illegally. That was wrong doing in the first place. It is illegal for any company to hire illegal workers. Probably it was an unstable small business company that cannot make profit enough to pay the employees. Even so, Ali caused his boss's death while stealing the money. If Ali had been with a legal working visa, it wouldn't had happened. May point is that Ali was a greedy person as much as others. All the time he was in Korea until he died, none of Koean call the police to put him in the jail!

He might be a sociopath, but he didn’t want the players to feel like they were forced into playing a game that costed them their life, so he let them go and re-invited them to play after knowing the stakes. They all came back and were willing to play and sacrifice their morality and souls for about $37 million lol. It’s shocking that he knew that they would all come back to playing in the death Olympics after giving them an out.

@@lolsmileyface1057 At first I thought like you but upon reflecting further I realized that he was betting with the players at the time just as he did when he bet with Gi Hun at the end about the drunken man in the snow. They are both obsessive gambler, the difference is that he believed ultimately that human are selfish while Gi Hun believed that human can be benevolence. He know from experience that most of these players will come back given that in the real world it was worst and it is "hell" for many of them. It was such a good writing and storytelling. You know, speaking of actually caring about characters in a series that started as a commentary on greed, my most shocking moment is that Ji-Yeong is the person I felt the most proud of. And I gotta tell you, that's against some stiff competition with two of the final three survivors making a pact to give each others' families a home. Ji was the one who let one of them get that far, after all. I cannot begin to tell you... Ahh, to begin with, it's been a while since I let tears fall from my eyes. I came close a few times before, but watching Ji-Yeong's backstory, I didn't even dry my face for a while after that. Like she said, she has NO family to go back to, no one to support. Because she killed her father, but I don't blame her at all for doing so; that fucker had it coming for killing his wife. If she got the money, she'd only have herself to use it for. And with the kind of person she was, she'd probably feel ashamed of doing so. That's why she encouraged Sae to win, glad that she could make some sort of good difference in the world. It was all the more satisfying when number 1 quit the game too so that another good boy would go on to eventually meet Sae's sibling and his friend's mother, the very people they were trying to support in the first place.
