You are so right, Dacob! Wanting something is so much more fun than having it. Such is human nature. I love just walking through luxury stores and admiring the beautiful things. A friend of mine won't come with me because it angers him that he can't buy everything he wants... I guess we're both as "aspirational" as it gets.

I'm not surprised more people go for Hermes. It's better to have one top notch bag than 100 poorly made ones. I finally gave in too and put my name on the wish list for a small Birkin. Not sure if I'll be offered as I haven't been on any journey. I only buy Hermes perfumes and bought the denim hat recommend by yourself. Whatever happens, happens. 😂

My dad says that the person who knows life doesn't rush (it's an awkward translation but that's the gist). Hermes knows and doesn't rush. But yes, Hermes has me. I went back a month ago and got a Parade en Fanfare 90 scarf. It's just so beautiful.

Neuromarketing at its best. Hermès clearly has a solid team of incredible marketers, the "anti-marketing" strategy works - it's a an interesting case study for sure. Great content as always Dacob.

I’ve had 2 SA’s (male and a female) from LV who moved to Hermes. This is a story of one of the female. She moved from LV to Hermes after being at LV for 6 years. She said she was never been happier on the 2 years she had time in Hermes than the 6 years in LV. She said a big example is the client loyalty. She also said Hermes customers are not your typical LV customer who are “new money attitude.” She also said the past customers of LV had moved to Hermes because of how LV became “everybody’s luxury item.” But she said, the best thing is that she has an employee of a luxury brand was seen as an asset more than a liability I believe that to be true because I just can compare how she looked always refreshed in Hermes than LV. Don’t get me wrong, I like both brands but it’s a different experience I feel in Hermes is topnotch compared to LV. There are less people who come to Hermes which I like. Just sharing. Thanks as always, Dacob!

Can u do something on prices in Asia? I’d love to be a returning customer, not only at Hermes but with other brands too but prices in Asia are so much higher than in Europe and the US that my buying habits are like an aspirational customer…. I only buy when I’m traveling because not only are prices generally cheaper full price but I can claim a sales tax return… so why would I buy in my home country let alone be a return customer ? Another thing of note is the Chinese are not traveling, which is why “growth” is in the single digits. 20:11

I agree! Quality over quantity. I'm a scarf freak. I have 1 vintage scarf and 1 scarf from this season and they are both beautiful and high quality. I don't even look at other scarves anymore because those 2 far exceed anything I've seen or anything I've purchased previously (including LV and Givenchy). Saves a ton of money too😂

Hermes goes for slow to steady to maintaining their quality standards whereas some other brands seem to have gone in the direction of to heck with a lot of quality standards, but still mass produce and also up their prices. It's sort of like the fable of the tortoise and the hare. Greetings from Los Angeles

It’s true they always deliver and also when the pieces that you are waiting for arrived, they keep it till you can go and see if you still want to purchase it. There is no pressure to buy. Also like you I believe that when the time is right you will receive your bag. Been waiting for 1.5 years and my SA tell me they don’t forget. Sincerely it’s the only luxury brand that I go for now! The others brands with the price increase and the downfall of quality is not worth it anymore. Great video Dacob

Great great assessment. I also agree with quality over quanity. I looooooove my big Hermes scarf and my silver bracelet. I have some Hermes shoes and a couple preloved bags that I wear daily. My luxury collection is very small but I use everything.

I was a huge Chanel fun, but about 2 years ago I got frustrated with the brand crazy prices and went to Hermes’. And I just looove it! I didn’t even ask for the bag, I love all the products I own: cashmere, silk, home, shoes and etc. during those 2 years I collected 4 bags and I never bagged for them, just expressed my interest.

I'm sure you would've said this in a past vid, or another commentator might've said this, but I think Chanel's price rise must have brought Chanel customers to Hermes. Because, Chanel raised their prices (but not their quality) and so people must be going "hey, I can now afford Hermes" (instead of getting a poor quality but expensive Chanel). That could be a factor ;)) maybe - love your stuff Dacob, thank you for being awesome always 💕

I am one of those small people but I did have a wonderful lux experience with my Husband at the LV Flagship store in Paris. As a housewife of a military man but a bag lover as well, I was lucky that the pandemic did give way for me to enjoy a lil bit of lux in my life. We only bought the Speedy 25 classic, a few slgs and have it stamped. We enjoyed some champagne and my husband was really impressed with the service. I did have a few Gucci and YSL that I so cherish esp I won't be buying anymore lux(due to pricing of course😂). Whichever way I guess we are making any brand richer by buying but I always make it a point I am buying a bag I love. Some didn't work out well for me like my Alma BB but it is sooo cute😊. You would never really know if a bag design will work out for you till you use it. Certainly, a handheld bag like the Birkin would not work for me. Hermes quality,no question, but their bag designs are more on a personal preference and I know for some it's more on acquisition or collection than practicality. Some really do love Hermes. Whatever the reason, they will also make Hermes richer by buying.

Hermès has a smart marketing strategy. Patience & Quality is their moto. None of the drive - throu, quick, fast, bad faahion quality some other luxury brands do. We have to learn how to choose well, thanks for the eye-opening content, Dacob. 😮

Interestingly enough, Hermès was one of the Flagship Store‘s at the Americana mall where all the luxury brands were. It was like an exclusive, beautiful strip mall with Laura Piana, Gucci, Max, Mara, Wilford, Ferragamo, Tiffany, Brooks Brothers, Fendi, Chanel all of them and more. Hermès just left that location which made them a ton of money to go to the Roosevelt field mall which is literally like your traditional American multi floor mall. Why on earth you would go from a luxury exclusive location that I’m telling you they were killing it, they made a lot of money because I was a personal assistant to a billionaire and I did all her shopping there. And she was constantly buying stuff from them so I know she wasn’t the only one. I think they went to the mall to get more foot traffic to sell their smaller things and get more exposure. So people could buy their jewelry, bracelet, makeup, shoes and all the other things that probably weren’t selling as much. I just don’t understand it because they were at the Americana for decades and then they moved to a generic mall. If I were on their team, I would’ve had them keep both locations because the people that go to the Americana, barely go to Roosevelt Field. It’s a different experience. No offense but people who shop at the luxury locations don’t want to have to go through the mall to get what they want. Love u Dacob!

Did i got this right….does hermes say that silver shouldnt be touched by water?! My mother is silversmith and she has never heard about that water damage silver. Not if its 925 sterling silver. I am spoiled so i have such amount of silver items made by her and they have never got damaged by water. Never In Sweden during pandemic We couldnt travel, go to restaurants so We shopped until We dropped. High prices is something you can have if you have High quality. Which several Luxuarry brands not deliver! They just sell expensive. When it comes to Hermes i don’t think they have all producing in Europe. Because if you look at the huge amount of Hermes on the Market. When some have 1-200 hermesbags i do wonder if they don’t produce in china to Keep up the amount. And since you can have a very very good Copy of Birkin or Kelly for 500 pounds. And a less good copy for 100 pounds. Either some collectors have copys or Hermes do also produce handbags in china . I read a book about how luxuarybrands say they produce in italy But in reality only a smaller amount does that and rest is produced in china and shipp to Napoli.

There are shady businesses out there for sure, just look into the past… the shady businesses have been around since the dawn of economy. Not all businesses are shady though but in my opinion maybe just a handful is left who are not shady… and the honest ones usually end up failing because they het trumped over by the ruthless shady ones… allegedly…

I stopped wearing my Hermes bags I been wearing mince since 90s now so sorry to say at dinner all my friends are wearing it looks cheap now and so many fakes in general the bloopers are destroying fashion especially like cardi b Kardashian’s don’t know what’s happening with fashion now is dead before was few designer shops in few countries now is like macdonolds on every corner of streets around the world so I feel is no longer chic 🤷🏻♀️

Interesting. It sounds like Hermes was looking into the future and not grubbing for money today. Slow and steady. It also keeps the brand from becoming over exposed. When I see Chanel and LV and a few other names, I think of reality tv show personalities. Those bags are everywhere on reality tv , which to me, makes them look common. Then, I see all these KZbin videos of the quality lacking in those name brands. Young and broke people wanting to be a part of the 'I want one of those too!' groups. They end up with a bag that begins to fall apart after a year. I even saw a video of a bag that was very poor quality in the shop itself. The buyer saved their money only for her and her boyfriend (who has no idea what he is looking at) both noticed the uneven stitching of the bag. Apparently, it past the quality control within the company but not some random guy shopping with his gf. Anyway, the whole thing is a turn off for luxury to me. They are no longer special. I would tell someone to buy vintage. These companies know that their clients are not the wealthy they once were but the rest of us schmucks and so I believe they let quality go because they don't care what the average schmuck thinks. My opinion.

@@SuperDacob From the videos I have been watching, it seems people are waking up. Videos that suggest some of the high end brands are mass produced in China and the only thing made in Italy is the label itself. In fact, its suggesting that the same factories the mass produced the real ones also mass produce the fake and that is why they are so well made...for a fake. If none of that is true and the bags are still made in Italy, then I have no idea why they are now so poorly made.

Hermès will fall too. I've seen a million videos of replica bags. They also lose customers to with their policies but that's alot of time after someone spends thousands and wakes up to it not being worth it. I think Hermès has been relatively unknown till recently so with the regular people waking up to the B.S. the rich will follow one day. Its not exclusive if you can buy it everywhere secondhand plus the Chinese are making one to one now. And for everyone daying it's not one to one stop being delusional over one stitch
