Yeah they “fib”. I knew a guy who, if he could get someone to say, “Jehovah” or “Jehovah’s Witness”, he’d mark it down as time and that was...it.

Teenagers used to “cold call” on the phone: call up anyone, strangers, say some stupid two words or just “Jehovah” and hang up then count it. It’s bs. But for those who really believe and do their work faithfully, well, if it wasn’t for the No Blood Doctrine killing people and if it wasn’t for...many destructive things...I wouldn’t give a rat’s ass who believed what. I’m against that Governing Body.

Same thing happened to us (husband and I). The elder called us every month asking for our report and he used to place 2 hrs in our report and asked us to atleast go out next month! 🤦🏽‍♀️ my husband didn’t agree but the elder told us it may affect us putting us inactive. Now it’s like: just put the check mark !🤦🏽‍♀️

I laughed when you described it as 'the African market' but then realized that's exactly what it is... I heard somewhere that the reason for getting rid of hour reporting could be to give a 'valid reason' for abandoning the annual service report, so this may be the last one we get to enjoy.

@@bigboithe8th Good point, but these days considering his recent experience, I’m not sure that Uncle Tony is making very many personal appearances in kingdum halls; I could be wrong about that considering the foolishness that I was into whilst under the influence (in my younger days 😂). Whenever I remember (and I try to avoid doing so) some of the stuff that I got into under the affluence of incohol I’m amazed that I’ve lived to my age and avoided going to jail, emergency, or the morgue (well I know that we’re all going there whatever we call it 😆).

Numbers, whether truly factual or not, tend to go higher in places where people desire community and help. But even so, WT tends to still be an elitist group. If they brought in and ministered out to the homeless and the downtrodden, the mentally disadvantaged, the Veterans, the widows (without asking for their estates), the very frail, demented, elderly (without grasping for their Estates), their numbers could soar. But they don’t want just anyone. They’re picky people. They’d rather they be destroyed than have to share a Paradise with certain ones. No natural affection. Seekers of what’s best for themselves.

Great video. From my viewpoint I do not believe these numbers should be compared to any covid years. The most appropriate year to compare to is 2018/19 (last ‘normal’ year before covid). In doing this some of numbers are startling For example memorial attendance down 500k 2.3% Baptisms down 30k 10% Hours preached down 1.8billion(!!) 14% Studies down 2.3m(!) 24% Best until last, partakes UP 1.8k (😂) up 9% Love this speeding up of the work😊

The way they fudge it is by double counting late reports from publishers. I’ve seen it because I did it as a secretary overseer at the branches direction. Someone would not report two or three months during the year then you gather their report in September for peak publishers then they are counted for that month and the missing months individually so it’ll be one person counted as 3 or 4 depending how many late reports they received

I think the growth in Africa can also be attributed to birth rates. It is the only region in the world where population is still growing up significantly. I'm concerned about Japan and Europe, though. Imagine a 80% retired population being maintained by just a 15% working population paying for them all, caring for them, and for their own children... it will be hell in slowmotion.

In my region there's a lot of Muslims joining this religion because they practically teach the same stuff, both islam and JWs are similar, the moment they hear that Christ isn't god (but rather just a messenger and a good man), and that they don't celebrate christian holidays. they will join, i've talked to a few of the Muslims and they said that this religion is less controlling, But with the same understanding of God, Christ, Christian/secular holidays etc. this is why it's appealing to them

I was born and raised United Pentecostal, back in the 1970s and 1980s, and over the years, one of my hobbies has been studying cult groups and world religions. My former cult group (UPC) very obviously plagiarized many Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs.

That is a good point. JWs also have some strict rules as Muslims, and allow some alcohol, which may contribute to this... but still I would not get why would they choose JWs over Islam if it is not theologically that different, and it is just Christianity without the fun holidays.

@@josepheridu3322JW is very far from christianity. The reason Muslims would convert is that they have the same view of who God is. Christians have a completely different view of who God is. Christians believe the Word and what it says is true. JW’s have to change words to push their agenda that Jesus isn’t God.

I tryed going back earlier this year loneliness I've been an unbaptized 3 times well havent been to meetings in years was there less than a month and they made me an unbaptized publisher again and were talking about baptism in the upcoming assembly I decided to leave again but inthink the baptism requirement has been dramatically lax

Until the Cartoon metrics I never realized there may be many young viewers here. Without sounding weird PIMO kids need to form a community and support each other. Proper planning and a path lit by the lanterns of others can lead to freedom, with safety and security. You can join any military branch at 17 right now hahaha! Space Force! Panda...you are talking like these numbers are true. My Secretary husband falsified the reports and documents that would go to the society all the time. He would bribe me to fill in the publisher record cards for 6 months for 150 publishers....on the Saturday before the CO visit. He hardly went in service but gave himself 16 hrs per month. He didn't want to make shepherding calls so gave irregular publishers hours that were not spent. The numbers are lies.

Yes, not having to cough up time sheets, there is going to be a lot of the numbers that don’t reflect the reality. Here in Canada the attendance at meetings must be way down. People finding better things to do, with mainly the old school manning Halls. I did see a few on the streets. That looks ridiculous given todays easy access to research material and commentary. Having a pleasant intelligent conversation on the street would be a bit odd I’m thinking. Should try it sometime. Two showed up here and said, ‘we’ve had enough’ and ran for the door after a few minutes. That’s funny, as all I said was the truth.

I don't know how much pressure is put on elders from district overseers, and how much pressure is put on them from branches, but I don't believe these numbers, or any of the numbers in the past, and even if those numbers are close to accurate 9/10 JWs know a few pet scriptures and what the basic teachings are, and what's not allowed, and that's it. It's remarkable the crash cart videos where they're just stunned. I saw one the other day when they knocked on sir Anthony Buzzard's door and he owned them so bad. He agreed that the Trinity was wrong and soul sleep is right but he was astonished when he'd read a verse from the new testament and asked the JWs "is this you? Does this apply to you?" And they'd reply no of course not, and he was like WOW how very sad. Jwism is so centric to themselves, this business of nobody else are Christians, and even they themselves aren't biblical Christians, is insane, though Christianity as a whole is also quite insane. Edited to add: that said, the more scholarly JWs can be pretty impressive and find agreement from those who aren't biased with Jesus juice.
