WatchUSeek Asks: Who is Greg Anderson?

If you are interested in an online community which is dedicated to discussing all things related to watches, then you probably already know about Watchuseek.com and its forums. If not, then I encourage you to go there and check it out. There's one, specific forum devoted to all things Casio and/or Casio G-Shock. And, in a recent discussion on that forum, someone asked the question "Who is Greg Anderson?" Well, I was somewhat amused at the comments which were posted in response to that question. And I thought I should take a few minutes to address the topic.
Typically, the subjects of my KZbin videos aren't really about me, but they are about "things" which are of interest to me. My hope is to share my own experiences and insights so that if we have common interests then I might be able to help you. And, if you are curious to know a little more about me, here's some information. But I think that I will soon return to making videos about "things" and not really about me. Enjoy.

I'm the guy who wrote that original post on WatchUSeek. (I use the fake "Dan West moniker there). I used to see Greg's videos occasionally and thought they were well done. I am a huge fan of electronic gadgets. I also have a broadcasting background. I like solar-powered gadgets and solar power. I appreciate the proper use of language. I appreciate the going-into minute-details of electronics. Then I saw his videos on solar power and him actually being at WWV/Fort Collins (I'm in Denver) and I was thinking: Who DOES that? Well, Mr. Anderson does! I can really identify with his passion for this stuff. Awesome channel and great work.

Youre content is very niche. A watch channel already has a limited audience and you focus on a certain kind of watch as well... . However you are charming, down to earth and passionately present your hobby without any nonesense. Its very very refreshing to NOT see someone "building their brand" or aggressively pushing advertisements. Keep up the good work!

Your content is perfect Greg, proper 'old-school', polite, no-nonsense and no BS. There's so much trash and rubbish out there! In fact nearly ALL of it is. I was one of the commenters in the WUS thread. My gentle tease about the title of the channel was to show that we all get the joke, *not* showing any kind of annoyance. I've been a huge fan, keep up the great work!

I actually don't care who Greg Anderson is. I watch his tutorials (which are brilliant) in order to gain insights into watches that I already own, or plan to buy. Whether or not Greg Anderson is this kind of man or that is immaterial to me. BTW - happy Father's Day, Greg. Don't let the cyber commandos get you down.

Grag Anderson is the "número uno" when it comes to G-Shock/Casio collectors who have a reasonable budget. He deep reviews watches I might actually buy. That's why I follow him and for his good humour too

Well, yes, it is. I used my paper route money to buy a BSR turntable in 1979, which I used for decades. But then, a few years ago, I decided I wanted something better. It’s a lot better!

It’s difficult to choose a favorite, but if I HAD to live with just one it would likely be the GW-S5600U, since it “checks so many boxes”. However, I like to wear a bunch of other watches.

Yes, I now have all three of the Charles Darwin Galapagos Island watches. I still need to make a video to prove it. So far, I haven’t seen another KZbin video showing that anyone else actually owns all three of them.
