Ours did not come with the retainer, thus when turning on the water - the pressure shoots the replaced hose out.

Did you have to get new fridge. Mine does not have the retainer from the factory, it worked for 10 years but not anymore, it leaks very bad. I ordered a new line today but just now hearing about that damn retainer. grrr

Ok I did this perfectly. Now water won’t come out.
