I kid you not I have no interest in sailing but I just love watching your story develop. I am always happy when I realize it’s tuesday because it means there will be a new video. Ha, aw, thank you so much, guys ❤️ we 100% weren't always this way and don't always feel put together, but do have to say that many self-care routines have genuinely helped us feel that way more often, and then be able to be more dedicated to the projects that we care about... different things work for different people, but that helps us so much 🤗 hope you both have an amazing week, sending our love ❤️

If you’re planning on going around the world might I suggest that you get yourself a water maker. While having a filtration system is a great thing on a small boat like yours a water maker would be a much better tool to have on the boat. Good luck be safe

You should do some dinghy sailing in rough conditions to get used to handling a boat in rough conditions.
@adalinelathrop51293 жыл бұрын
This is just a genuine question (not meant to be hateful or anything) but don’t you guys need a water maker to desalinate the water and then the Acuva will just make that fresh water extra clean? Because I don’t think that filtration system will be able to get all the salt out of ocean water. Again just a question. I love your guys’ channel and have been watching for years. Excited for your journey!!!

You skipped over dropping the mast. Now is the time to put on a really good low-draw LED anchor light and new wiring up to it, as well as new VHF cable and antenna. Are you going to replace the standing rigging and maybe chainplates? Hire a good rigger to inspect everything and give you advice as to what to replace.

Hi guys great video- you might consider adding a switch near the faucet- you need the water pump each time you use the filter BUT you do not need that filter each time the water pump goes on ( shower, bathroom faucet, etc) - I hope that made sense (it did in my head)

I love to follow your work on the boat but I can’t help wonder, is there anything that doesn’t need electricity on the boat? Ok, you’ve got solar panels but I’m afraid that you are going to be out of power in three days when you’re sailing off shore! Maybe you need a wind power source to?

I just want to make comment in regards to using salt water to wash the dishes. We had planned on doing this on our future blue water boat but watch another KZbinr just recently (I think it was Rigging Doctor/Sailing Wisdom ?) and they said washing with salt water ruins absolutely everything even when you rinse with fresh. It’s better apparently to just wash solely with fresh. Just food for thought.
@terristenacious22793 жыл бұрын
Why didnt you choose a salt water purifyer?

If you want off grid at sea I think you will need a proper water maker. The kit and connections are not marine grade so not suitable for crossing oceans.

We learned sooo much when building up and travelling with our van! When working so directly and in such a small space (and importantly--when you are motivated to learn because you know it may be helpful on your adventures), it is amazing how fast you can learn. Of course, for more complex things and when we are unsure, we get outside help, though! Safety first 🤗 ❤️

Would you take my advice and get some sailing lessons. We all like to think that the universe will take care of us, but sometimes it don't. The ocean can be freakin treacherous and it scares the bejesus out of me knowing you may both be out there at the mercy of the cruel sea. Knowing what to do in a storm, in an emergency knowing that you can handle anything that tthe sea can throw at you because you know what to do, because youve been taught, does that make sense? Sorry to sound like "we are all doomed" just concerned is all. Thanks for listening, and thanks for the two nice replys you sent to my previous blather. Mark in England

Curious why you are putting a water-purifier onboard as opposed to a water-maker? I imagine you're going to get a water-maker at some point anyways so it's going to be redundant to have both, and an unnecessary power-draw for both.
