Awesome video! I do miss the “stream math” jingle in the produced videos, but I will concede that even when there is math, there is no stream math. I love that this map is giving you water geysers nearish the start, so you can do things like lice loaf. Shakes things up from previous runs where you’re fighting for every drop right from the beginning.

@@thobzin93 Second this, the garbage schools try to use to deal with it never works. I was bullied for years back in school, trying to get the teachers and principal to do something. Letters to my bullies, them getting detentions and things just getting worse knowing I caused it, but a couple chairs flying through the air at them and knocking a couple on their asses made them change their behavior real fast. Sure I got suspended for a week, but it was worth not dealing with that shit for 5 more years of school. Violence isn't always the answer, but for bullies it's the only one.

Decor tip: A hanging pot itself doesn't give +20 decor, but as soon as you plant a decor plant in it *bam!* it's a 20+ decor item. Also saves space for more tables.

I think every little helps when it comes to carnivore, it doesn't make sense to reject those precious eggs. Having the extra give a little more wiggle room for dupes being slow getting newly laid eggs to the incubators or newly hatched babies OUT of the incubators! I'm really enjoying this series and am looking forward to you not having to be so sweaty so you might have some time to explain the bees!

Hey Echo, love your videos and content. I'm also happy you took the eggs, would rather see you succeed and enjoy the playthrough. Had an idea about that cool salt slush geyser - why not feed it directly to a metal refinery or two, rather than mix the tanks? The output can then safely be transferred to a desalinator, you get reasonable temp water for the base, and the heat from the refinery might help prevent mealwood stifles too!

I think Radiation resistance was based on the material used. With most tiles providing 80% of the listed material value. With a few exceptions like Mesh, Airflow, Solar Panel. Some more mitigation ideas: - not a lot of materials have more then 60% Rad Blocking as tile. Abyssalite, Depleted Uranium, Graphite, Plastic and Lead are the top ones. - put in a several layers thick "overhang" above the outside door. They block just as well above the ground as on it. And would also protect outside workers if they are placed above the door - move the grooming station a bit inside the stable. Dupes will mostly just pass by the planter boxes and the critter drop-off - but they have to stay at the station. No reason to have it right in the rad blast zone

In my playthrough of this scenario I just got carnivore (cycle 98) without taking anything from the pod or going to the other planet so it can be done. But I also used 2 full pip ranches with wild planted trees and I only had 12 incubators by the end that prioritized hatches over pips. Getting a bottomless SPOM going in space to generate power with all of my water definitely helped a ton with dupe labor as well.

One thing I find helps is having the ranches be one tile longer so you can use the door and tile to keep the critters near the grooming station. It also makes it easier to know where the eggs will be laid.

@25:52 I'm not proud of this, but to save on refined metal use I've done the brute force liquid vent automation - just build the liquid vent one or two levels below where you want the water to stop. the vent will overpressure if there's a full tile of water above it, so technically you don't need the hydro sensor and automation wire. Look we've all been there when it comes to precious little refined metal don't judge me.

So, I've still been thinking about which other games you should pick up other than ONI and I wanted to point out that whatever it is, I want it to give you the same chance to do what you did at 13:16 - 15:55. If I could distill what made me subscribe to you 3 series back, it was that. I enjoy how you can find a problem, implement a solution, then iterate on the solution and how you display it in the video. I know it's extra time, but it's why I watch.

Hey Echo! Just a suggestion if you’re having power woes…, you can put a pip and Saturn critter traps in the cold biome and get yourself some hydrogen production! The more pips and traps you have set, the more hydrogen you’ll produce!

Just a heads up on your great hall: planting in hanging pots doesn't ruin locavore. I did it in my current achievement run after trying for about fifteen cycles to get it with sculptures.

The funny thing about great hall, is that if you have fast enough research, you don't need an artist for one. An unsculpted metal block made of gold has enough of a decor bonus that it'll upgrade a great hall.

You need to rebuild the doors in your stable (make your stable one tile longer and build a tile in a corner to match the room number required). Hatches eat mealwood too after it has been harvested.

FYI if you see and area with a geyser or vent and you can’t tell what it is set it’s priority to yellow alert and hover over it in the top left. It will tell you what kind of geyser it is Also planter box’s kinda get outweighed by farm tiles due to less space being taken

Turning on the care packages wasn't actually an issue for me. I still love to include the "luck" aspect in playing these games. Especially when I run out of food and there's an 8400 kcal of omelettes suddenly appearing. Also I would like to suggest that you dont need to add more incubators. Just lullaby those eggs, then remove them from the unit, sweep them up somewhere else, then have a dupe quickly replace it with another one. That way youll be able to lullaby multiple eggs in one go. Just the micromanaging though

i always use an automatic dispenser on sweep only to get eggs out of my stables if needed. just have it dunk eggs up by the incubators then sweep the stables once in a while just in case theres a spare laying around causing problems.

Tip u might not know about as far as geysers or maybe you like the surprise if you set the priority to emergency temporarily on geysers the alert will tell you what the geyser is before digging it out

You can check what type of geyser it is by setting the priority to the top. The alert you get will tell you what it is, although some people consider it exploitive so I understand if that's why you are not doing it.

Hey just a quick tip when you turn salt water into water it needs to be emptyed because it collects salt and emptying takes quiete long put a valve set amount to 5 kg and put 2 desalinators when first one goes idle 2. starts to produce water and by time passes your dupes gonna empty the 1. one this way you dont lose any water to dupes lazyness

Less of an issue currently/on this seed, but if you ever want to save yourself some space and/or need to manage the heat from the desalinator, it doesn't get flooded, so you can sit it *in* your Cool Slush pool to manage the space/heat better :)

Here is a Revolutionary idea that No one in the History of Humanity has EVER come up with (/sarcasm): instead of pouring your hot water on top of the cold, pour the cold water on top of the hot(place temperate mix tank next to geyser gravity fed and swap source and destination tanks compared to what you imagined), and therefore no scalding your tongue, hands, or pumps. I've always felt the 3 "missable" achievements in this game weren't in the spirit of the game. The game is mostly a sandbox n chill experience and those achievements make your colony beginning roughly the same when you aim to deal with them. So fiddlesticks to anyone upset over the printing pod. Get your missables out of the way and ease into whatever your simulation turns into this time around.

I agree, plus the likelihood is Echo would have to restart and either move to a place where hatches spawn in start biomes, or change the rules to allow him to take hatch eggs anyway, and that just puts Echo in this same place, just a week from now because in ONI, if the math is close to the failure point, Dupes will find a way to fail.

I think I will only disagree with the eggs, if you reach the achievement before cycle 90... The main reason I am okay with it, is because *technically* you started a new challenge run, after realizing that starting on an asteroid where hatches don't spawn naturally, meant you would be cutting it so fine. It's also possible that had one thing gone wrong, or your dupes done what dupes do st any given moment, and ruined the run, you'd be so far into the run by the time you realized it, you'd either have to abandon and restart the challenge, or just switch to an asteroid that naturally spawns hatches anyway. It works out to be the same thing in the end as far as I'm concerned, and still only (it would appear at this point) makes the challenge barely doable even with 6 hatches eggs.

I've seen the same thing but those dupes can't build heavy watt wire or perform engie's tuneup since they don't have the second skill. Which I did not realize was the cause of the issue until this video unfortunately.

Combining different types of water tends to scare me. I've had occasion where some odd circumstances end up concentrating a lot of one type on a single tile at the bottom and cracking my walls. You haven't dug out beneath (yet) so shouldn't be an issue for now.

If you take the 3 hatch eggs or not, you will always finish in the last few cycles before 100. The difference is that if you do not take the eggs, all farms are almost empty. And if you do take the eggs all the farms are still full at cycle 100. You make it sound like its difficult, but with care packages all achievements is not that hard

Can you not use hanging pots and things like Mirth Leafs in the Great Hall? That used to be a GH without any art/artist. Then add more hanging pots and different plants for a higher Decor bonus. Then change out hanging pots for Glass pots Then add in Pixel Packs for super decor.

I think the main reason, and I could be wrong, is that the temperature of the air near the great hall had plummeted so much by that time, that the mirth leaf wouldn't be providing the decor bonus anyway. The sculpture will provide the decor bonus no matter the temperature.
