Daniella. My heart goes out to you. Today my daughter who lives in Canada, I am in U.K., is having her portal removed. Her cancer journey started April 2023, with breast cancer, caught early. Double mastectomy last February. Today we are pleased she is cancer free. We will remain positive as cancer is very sneaky! I am writing to say how. Many great people she has met. She is a single Mum with our two grandsons. It has changed her but all her experience s have made her stronger in so many different ways. The way you talk, your attitude makes such a great impression on me , with your courage, generosity and giving your artistry to us all. As a mum the journey the family have been on as made me change to oand gratitude, love are part of my day at a time approach. Stitching or any art is such good therapy for us all. Thank you for sharing your talent. Wishing you joy. Anya. U.K. ❤

Well, there you go! I started wondering, recently about water colors for slow-stitch projects. You Tube, of course, read my mind. It’s ok. I’m excited to experiment! Thank you.

Love it! I've made a picture out of a painted fabric with water colours and it worked out very nicely but I never thought doing some stitching on it, it is something to consider for some of my future work 😊. I like to try different techniques and I'm always trying something new , thank you.😊

This is just lovely, jo. Such a lot of fun and possibilities. Once ironed...do the colours stay fast as they are ? Very inspiring... Thanks!
@peaceofpi-studio7 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes the colours seem to stay put. If it sat in the sun I expect it may fade. I haven’t washed these pieces either. If I was using it for something that might get wet I would mix in some textile medium. I would pour a bit of medium out and after loading my brush with paint I would dip it in some medium and then paint on the fabric. Then I would clean the brush and repeat.

Wow, that looks so beautiful. 💖😍 How do you treat the painted fabric if you were going to wash the fabric? I was thinking of doing a design on a t-shirt. Your creation is so inspiring. Thank you. 🧶🪡🧵🖼️🌈

Thank You! I wouldn't recommend watercolor on a fabric to be washed. If you want the painterly watercolor effect on a t-shirt you could try the Dye-na-Flow fabric paints. They are heat set to be permanent after they dry. Here's a video where I use them kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5iZZJx3et-Yjpo

This is absolutely gorgeous and so inspiring! I can't wait to try it. If I wanted to set the colors from the watercolor, what do I use? Thank you!!!!
@peaceofpi-studio23 күн бұрын
@@candacenagle505 if you iron the fabric when dry that will set the colours somewhat. I would not recommend washing the fabric as that would remove most of the colour because watercolour is reactivated by water. I don’t wash my stitched pieces so it’s not been a problem. The other option is to get a fabric medium - it looks like milky paint and is often available at craft stores. You could either mix the watercolour with the medium in a separate container before applying or apply the medium on top of the painted fabric and follow the directions on the bottle to set the paint. 🧵🪡😊
