Yes I too struggle with gel pens. The trick is to keep them constantly in use. Whenever I let them sit for a couple of weeks or so they get dried up.

Thank you! I am happy to know it helped you. I use Camel brushes which are quite popular here in India. But you can use any liner brush for the job.

I use a Uniball 0.7 Signo gel pen to do the bricks. I think they are called Angelic in the US.

Great work! Can you advise what sizes/type of brushes you used for this? I’m new to painting and looking to do house portrait like this specifically, not sure about brush size.. thank you

Thanks. I used regular round brushes of size 12 and 8 for covering larger areas. For finer details I prefer using a rigger or 0 sized round brush. Hope that helps.

This is cold press paper with a relatively smooth surface.

What paint colors did you use for the brick, tree and greenery? Many thanks.

For the bricks I mixed scarlet and burnt sienna. The tree was a mix of mauve and vermilion. Greenery was painted using SAP green and lemon yellow.
