I just love this series. Show casing a colour and how it rubs along with other colours is enlightening. Your spontaneous scape in minutes is crazy . Love it!!!! I hope to take part in show and tell soon. I’ve been preparing for exhibiting my style of work in the UK. Small time I have to say, but from little acorns etc etc……..Before I retired I was a radiographer and I know professionally that ankles need a while to heal. Stay booted !!!! 🎨

I love your color series (really anything you do). May I suggest quinacradone fuschia next? I never see anyone use that one and it has a unique pigment (PR202) I’ve heard it’s good for portraiture. Thankyou! 🙌🏻

I am really enjoying the color swatches and mixing. Since I live in New Mexico I would love mixing the q. magenta (which I don’t currently have) with browns (love bronzite), yellows, Payne’s, and blues. All beautiful desert terrain colors for sand/dirt, rocks and mountains and shadows. Thank you for reviewing and sharing the Quins.😊

Winser and Newton slso have literature on their pigment use history. Winsor & Newton were the first to make the synthetic pigment Quinacridone Magenta for artists, in 1958. The potential of synthetic dyes led to a worldwide search for what colours were possible, and scientists began experimenting with testing compounds in all sorts of combinations. British and French firms were racing against each other to make vibrantly coloured commercial synthetic dyes. Quinacridone Magenta was first produced in 1859, as a result of this pursuit. Its name commemorated the Italian-French victory in the Battle of Magenta.
