IMPORTANT: Some 3rd party assets and plugins can overwrite the collision settings on some of the components in the Waterline Actors - if simulation or buoyancy do not work after migrating to your project have a look at the Buoyancy and SimCapture Volume Collision presets (as well as all the other componets) and make sure that they are set like in the default WaterlinePRO project. Also check out this really good follow up video on fine tuning and optimizing Waterline to your project's needs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jILMiod3r5eBj8k Also, this is an extra step you could do to get some more definition on the motion of the waves and foam, it's not essential but it can improve image quality: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZukZZt4gbqcrLM UPDATE: In UE5.4.1 we've encountered an engine bug that causes a crash on Migration whenever more than on Level asset is migrated across projects. When migrating the Waterline folder make sure to deselect all Level folders and then migrate separately all the levels you do need. We understand that this is an extremely tedious process, but we've managed to replicate this on projects without Waterline, so we believe that this is an engine bug and have already submitted a report to Epic.

HI! Congratulations again on your project! I ran into a little difficulty. When I copy the WATER LINE PRO project into a completely new one the FFT_OceanShore_Map2 map loses the ability to see the foam that is generated on the coast. Is it an engine setting or a project setting to set? Thanks in advance

Hi ! I'm having an issue with adding WL to an UE5.4.2 blank project. I did the migration process, (Diselecting all level folders). But once I drag and drop the 'BP_Waterline_Ocean_Gen_3' blueprint in my world, the ocean stays flat, '5_RT_Ocean_Height' is completely white, '6_RT_Ocean_Normal' is completely blue, and '7_RT_Ocean_Foam' is completely black, no thing is generating, even when clicking on 'Live Ocean'. When running the game it's the same. I tried some WL maps, and same result. However, the original waterline project does work. Do you know what's going on? Thanks!

Hi! We did some tests in UE5.4.2 and what we ended up doing was migrating the main Waterline folder just like in the video - this did result in a crash in the default WaterlinePRO project, but after opening the blank project we were migrating to we found that all the assets had been migrated correctly (so don't worry about the deselecting the level folders for the time being) One more thing is that compute shaders can sometimes compile in the background and newer Unreal versions will not always show this - it may be worth waiting a few minutes (5-10) to make sure these have finished before pressing Live Ocean. Good afternoon. Can't you just do "Add to your project" like everyone else? It's very inconvenient to do it every time.

what are the core packages ? ie just to migrate 1 level ?

You will need to migrate the entire Waterline folder as all the blueprints and compute shaders are very interconnected. If project size is a worry it is possible to set Unreal to only package assets and materials that are in use for a final build.

Hi! Have a look at this tutorial section here where you can set up the buoyancy on a per object channel basis. This is likely the cause. If this does not help please let us know on our support email.

Some blueprints in other levels reported errors. How to set up the simulation, the method in Waterline PRO Tutorial: Adding Waterline PRO to your Project NEW cannot be universal.......

Very good, thanks! But how do you add it in your own level? This was just migrating and opening a WLP map, but how about adding WLP to our own map once we've migrated it over to our project? Edit: Got it set up, wasn't that hard actually. It's really good!

Unfortunately following this tutorial only gets you halfway there. For example, the buoyancy, foam, and ocean reformers levels don't work. I also find it very difficult to navigate this KZbin channel as while there are plenty of tutorials, most of them look exactly the same and I am not sure which one I should follow.
